Bread maker is going again, half-way through cycle and still going. I'm monitoring. Kitchen is getting there. Since I'll be making another batch of challah I'm leaving out the ingredients and measuring stuff for now. Will load up dishwasher when done mixing second batch and run it then.

We have a quiet day today. Tomorrow, I think that dneighbor guy next door will be tutoring dh is using his green egg smoker. Dh bought this two years ago barely used from a friend and hasn't touched it since the day it came home, and V and A and I have been ribbing him about using it. There are plenty of instructions and recipes online but he wants some one to show him, lol. So that couple will join us for dinner after the guys smoke something.

Last night we invited over a dneighbor whose husband is out of town for awhile - she had bourbon, cheese & crackers with us, then another neighbor came by because it was his birthday and dh invited him to try out some of dh's very very expensive bourbon as a treat. So dh and I never got back to our supper and made sandwiches later. So we have the steak to grill for tonight. The butternut squash I thought I had went bad, must have been damp, so we'll have a sweet potato and something green.

A and V, our river friends are away this weekend.

Back to work. Will finish kitchen, start laundry, what else? Working to 1:30 here this time. Dh is on the way home, he went to Torah study, then on to a memorial service.

First batch of challah seemed to come out okay. It's shaped and rising, and then I'll the bake two loaves. Second batch is in bread maker mixing and I need to monitor. It think it's probably best that I buy a new bread machine at this point because I don't want to have to always monitor so it so closely. And it's always going to be difficult to assemble it and I bet I forget and ruin bread in the future too. It's walking all over the kitchen as it rotates now too. It does that at times.

I'm doing a little genealogy while I babysit this. Started the dishwasher. Wishing I could get upstairs to stamp/craft a little.

mom is resting uncomfortably in bed. she had a very good morning
she shucked corn (3), she did puzzles, she spent time outside, she ate breakfast and walked (walker) even though exhausted. helper went home. I had to pull mom on her bed so that she could have her head up so she didnt choke so easily.

ordered things I needed
I think dd older and I will be making cookies together with mom once she is awake.
dd younger went on a manhunt class for her dog and is going to a rodeo

did some of my math book - got 2 wrong but the rest right.

I have been sitting near mom for 2 hours - she is uncomfortably sleeping - waking a lot. reaching for things.
I will put something in front of her bed so she doesn't fall off and get back to work.
sad but at least she is not overwhelmed or fearful.

Spent too much time on the computer today. I also shuffled some books around in my library. I think I'll have to shuffle a few more tomorrow. I would like to get the books done, and then I can do my craft stuff.

Saw a FBook post regarding a Hallowe'en celebration/gathering in the small town just west of us.

Lauralind, the project of craft room sounds very close to home for me - let us know how it goes. Tried to post in A, C and Needlework about it today but my mouse is acting up, so I'll try later. I have one bedroom of our house as a mostly-sewing room :) and office. The office only takes up basically one desk and some small drawered storage. But because my art is quiltmaking, it takes a LOT of space, lots of fabric storage and project storage, appliances, small ironing board, etc, etc. I have a lot to do to make it more welcoming and efficient for me. Every time I do a project, it's a mess again and needs attention. Also we tend to put some things in here that are neither office or fabric - why do we DO that?

blessed, not my tummy - the reaction is numbness at lips and face and they watch me like a hawk, plus I get irritable, :x antsy, like a toddler who did not "get her nap out", lol. So not much else to talk about on the way home except make sure I'm getting over it, no time for "girl talk". It's usually over shortly after getting home and I'm just tired. It's only once a month.

blessed, I misread your dd's activities COMPLETELY and thought she was out looking for a man as in finding a date or something, and the dog was helping somehow. Goodness, my eyes. Should have known your ddyounger is much more high-minded than that and would be doing something noble! Have a wonderful time baking cookies!

Nancy, the wildlife at my dd27's house today is wild turkeys. She sent photos of a Tom and Hen turkey coming right up to the house. I called dsonil and he was letting me listen to the Tom gobbling just a few feet away from him. I wonder if someone in their community has fed them or something. They have no fear and are finding some kind of insect they like.

Kittykatt and Cathy, the "cat distribution system" pegged my ddyounger last evening and so she is actively trying to find a home for a teenage cat today. She gave it a bath. Dsonil is quite allergic, so keeping his distance but affirms that it (he?) may be dirty and straggly, but wants to be around ankles.

Finally got all that ordering done - microwave, toaster, shoes for me, and replenished my flat wrapping paper and pull-to-fluff bows. I've been having so much trouble with my computer mouse that HRH ordered me a new Razer Death Adder, too. (He believes in serious mouses. mice... ..) Anyway, I hyperventilated a little bit with the appliances costs (smile), since I know the dishwasher will be up next, but managed to spend the money and live through it.

I am tired. Supervising the bread machine today has taken a lot out of me because I've felt bound to the kitchen all day. I just did a final clean up and emptied dishwasher. Of course, there's slightly more clean up after dinner. Grill is heating up for the steak and I have a sweet potato baking. I got upstairs and finished a card, and worked at cleaning up the stamping desk. I wish I had a little more time up there.

Craft room. Yes. I've been trying to organize and sell or donate what I don't use. There's also the issue of the genealogy publications. Did you know there's a place you can go that has those kind of publications and keeps them up to date and even binds them for posterity? LOL, the library. I'm not sure why I want to hold onto so many. Some are even online, and there's no reason for those, for sure.

My craft room won't be making any progress today. I actually don't quite have one. I did a severe juggle rooms around last winter cause of the mold issue. With both older kids married now we will never need their rooms permanently. Dd room is guest room and their room when they visit. Ds 15 got ds 26 room cause it's a bigger warmer room. I repainted the smaller room and put ds 26 big desk in there. Along with the extra bed of his. It will be my craft room. But it's a clutter room atm. Not done yet. I don't have more than a couple bins of yarn. Need a good storage system for that and set up my sewing machine permanently so i can mend things. And maybe sew. But I am just getting back into crafting. . I found a few things I would like to try but i only have one type of yarn mostly worsted weight blanket yarn. I need some finer stuff. Shirts. Table runner for my coffee table. Probably more baby blankets eventually.

The outside projects won out today. Necessary. Dh is off. Weather was hot and it dried out. We almost have it ready to pit seed on. That was the spot we dug up last year to dig our new well. We have so much water here there were almost spots water was coming out of the ground towards underneath the shop. We put drainage pipes in and a bunch of sand and soil to lift it up a foot or so. Level so we can mow without soft squishy spots.

Oh and my freezer is clean. Was going to just Reorganize it and clean up some berry mess spills. It was bad enough it made me defrost the whole thing. Much better. In the process I took the mop to a few spots in the kitchen and mopped under the freezer cause water got under.

I am exhausted. Supper is leftover ribs from yesterday. There's pasta left over and when I get up going to make a big green salad. Then dh is going to church to help with sound for the other team worship practice. I am gonna either do some music or maybe see if I have a craft to start . Oh wait caspers gonna want his walk too.
