Hello, everyone!
FFB, you're right about Stir Up Sunday - well remembered!
Stir-up Sunday is the last Sunday before Advent, when families traditionally come together to mix and prepare their Christmas cakes and puddings, giving everyone a stir. The name comes from the opening words of a prayer in the Book of Common Prayer, "Stir up, we beseech thee, O Lord...". It's a tradition for each family member to stir the mixture and make a wish while doing so. Some traditions say the stirring should be done from east to west to represent the Three Wise Men's journey.
The pudding mixture is prepared and steamed, then set aside for the flavours to mature until Christmas Day. Cakes are baked and again left to mature, being "fed" with brandy at intervals.
Trissie, WTG getting your new washing machine delivered and set up! Sorry about the robot vacuum dying.
Helia, how lovely to watch the sunrise. Enjoy your walk!
I'm glad you enjoyed your walk with your friend, L.Ann.
Laura, I usually use canned beans, as they're a lot easier than dried!
Smilelee, I'm sure Li'l H will love exploring the townhouse!
Gma, you've been busy today!
Hi, Peaches!
Church today included the "Stir up " collect

, so I need to make my Christmas cake this week. I've sold more tickets for the Christmas lunch, which makes it 27 in total. I had coffee with DF E, who was in very good form today. Our lunch menu was roast pork, roast potatoes, roasted carrots and peppers, gravy and Savoy cabbage, followed by raspberry ripple yogurt fool.
I've taken Freddie for his walk and had a few minutes tidying the front garden. Laundry is folded and PA, and we're watching Poirot now. Matilda is on my lap.

Hi, all. Lazy day for me today, as it's Sunday.
Thank you, FrenchFly and trissie. We did have a good sleep.
Oh, no, trissie, your electric helpers really do not want to help you this week.
You enjoy the sunrise for me, helia, and I'll enjoy the sunset.

Beautiful blanket helia! I'm not sure about the "mistake" but there must be a way to make it less visible (with a crochet hook probably). I love the pattern and colour. Looks like a simple pattern (except for having to count the rows) but what a lovely result !
Doggedly i'm glad I'm still around to see you after you've slept.
And now it's time for bed and sleep - maybe after a few minutes of checking our Christmas list, with MrNG. And maybe checking it twice.
Good evening and night everyone !

FFB, yes, this was a simple pattern but not completely plain. The yarn I used was made in France! It is an interesting blend of materials, including silk, cotton, and linen. I don't know how to make the mistake less noticeable. I still have a lot to learn.
When do they arrive, L Ann?
