So glad you got a break today, LadyM. With all that has been going on, you know you've needed it.
I hope RR is holding up with Sweetie, and that all our caretakers are hanging in there. You guys are often on my mind - I had quite a "season" of care taking from 2012 to 2019 but all are gone now.
I'm heading downstairs to unwind.

* Editing: * Y'all -- check J&C. (I had already written all this before I saw Nancy's post.)
~~~
Well, ds hasn't felt well for the last 24 hours -- flu-like symptoms, etc -- but does say he seems to be feeling better tonight.
That's good because dgd started throwing up tonight, and he has had to clean up and try to give her some relief. I took Pepto-Bismol type chewables to him (Wmart brand, so not exactly the same ingredients, we were surprised to learn) but she threw up again before I got out of their driveway.
DDIL is asleep, I'm sure, since she has to leave for work around 6:00/6:30 a.m. I know ds is trying to let her sleep, but I told him if this continued through the night, they should call pediatrician in the morning and ask for Phenergan (sp?) suppositories. I know, as dgs said, "She's not gonna like THAT," but I know at times, that is all that will stop the throwing up. * OH -- just remembered ZOFRAN * and I HAVE Zofran, of course. I'm not sure if she can take an adult dose though. She weighs around 100 lbs.
Oh well, this started around 11:00 pm. I'm sure if she hasn't settled down by now, ds has awakened ddil.
Tomorrow, whether I am in denial or not, Thanksgiving prep MUST happen. It takes me a couple hours to do the chicken & dressing, and another 45 minutes for about 3 dozen cookies. (That's one package of refrigerator dough.) So I should be able to manage that without too much trouble. Nothing else on my schedule except making sure the bathroom is clean (it will only need a s/s since we vacuumed and mopped earlier in the week) and I would like to vacuum & dust the main area of the house -- den/dining room/kitchen. I might get dgs to do that. He wants to stay here and keep away from the sickness at his house!
I certainly hope that ds and ddil feel like going to the ballgame this weekend. I am going to be pretty upset if we have to "eat" these tickets. They are $205 each, face value. Seat Geek has the ones nearest our section listed for $850-$1,041. SMH... a lot of folks with more money than they've got sense, if you ask me, but I could probably find friends who'd pay $200 each. DBIL would NOT want me to sell them online because then he'd have to sit by fans from the opposing team, you know.
I am glad things were calmer at Lord & LadyM's house today also... and sending good wishes to all our caretakers, as Twins mentioned.
WTG, Harriet, on the progress you've made with cards. I plan to get dgd to help me this weekend, after we put up the tree. I think she can put labels & stamps on envelopes and labels on the backs of photos. I just hope she feels better and I can keep my energy up. I know I'll be worn out Thursday night after everyone leaves... that might be a good time to do labels. *** I MUST GET CHRISTMAS STAMPS TOMORROW!!! *** Friday I plan to tackle the tree and decorations... and Saturday finish up during the day. Saturday night, I have told dcousins we will come watch the game with them, so I plan to be there for at least a couple hours. (I don't plan to watch the whole game because I know dgd will get bored. She will likely be the only child there under 16. The ones her age are with their dad this week.)
blessed, my friend's mom used to make 7-layer-salad a lot. It always looks pretty. (I am not crazy about some of the layers so I never ate much of it.)
Nancy, forgive me -- I know I've asked this before -- but will the writing project be for publication? I have always wanted to be a writer... but am now too self-conscious to give it a try. Frustrated ambition is what led to the terrible poetry which is now lost and will be a source embarrassment to me when I am in the grave. Sigh.
Waving to all!!! Good night!
I still have to put clothes on hangers to dry, do a small bit of floor exercise to try to limber up a little, take a shower, do Bible reading (that never gets done early in the day when dgrands are around) and try to get to sleep before 4:00 a.m. tonight!
Happy Thanksgiving Eve to you all!
Lucylee, the more I hear about Thanksgiving, I'm so very impressed with all the preparation md work you ladies do! And very glad I don't have to do all that. Although my turn is coming soon with Christmas!
I hope DGD feels better soon. Iirc, there's an anti sickness injection she can have, which might be better tolerated! (I'm sorry I can't remember the name,.only the version for cats.which is Prevomax!!!)
My big Christmas win yesterday was to take advantage of DH being out in the evening, and get out everything Ive bought for Christmas so far, list it and organise so I know where everything is. And I've been through my cake baking supplies so I know what I still need to get for the Christmas cake that I'm planning to make this week (plain flour, Brazil nuts and walnut halves).
