LucyLee, if it's a damp cold, IMHO it often feels colder than if it's a dry cold! Oh, and sunshine can help make the house feel warmer, a well as closing off and draughty areas.

Bama, as the lack of alcohol was the only complaint, then I'm good! πŸ˜€(I had the backing of the clergy, the churchwardens and the head of the social committee with my decision, so I'm standing by it.)

Dogged, it amazing just how our mental health can affect our physical issues. I'm glad your new more stress free life is agreeing with your digestive system.

Hi, Peaches!

I still haven't stirred from my chair (although I have had a cat on my lap for most of it! And I have sent "Thank you" messages to the people who help today) so it's time to get moving!

Doggedly -- don't worry about TMI for me -- I am right there with you in the need for Imodium. How's this for TMI -- I am currently taking Bentyl to "relieve urgency" AND often add Imodium if I have to be out of the house. And I have been retired (from teaching) for 12 years! But after reading your post, I realize teaching is not a good career for someone with digestive issues. There is NEVER enough time to go to the restroom between classes and one has the choice of going to the student restroom, which is crowded, or the women teacher's lounge where there is only one restroom and others may be waiting in a rush outside the door. Looking back on 30 years of that, no wonder my digestive system is a mess!
My doctor also agrees that I have IBS. I also very often get super nauseated when I am nervous about something, to the extent that I avoid a lot of social situations for fear of getting sick! I am considering going to therapy for this situation -- but that makes me nervous too, LOL!!!

Bama -- boy -- what you said about "all we had was cardboard boxes before the snow. Now there is all kinds of snow eqt sold here and we probably won’t see snow again for another decade. Marketing geniuses." HOW TRUE!
Another thing about living in the South, we never have the proper clothing! Why buy really heavy coats and snow-wear when you may not need it more than a week or two out of the year? And I hate wearing a big coat anyway. Right now, I am wearing a jacket of late dh's -- it's flannel lined and pretty heavy, much too big for me, but there's something comforting about wearing it.

Thank you, Dogged!

LucyLee, is there an chance you may be intolerant.to wheat? Not necessarily intolerant to gluten in all grains, just wheat..Your symptoms.sound similar to my DSisil.who had IBS for years, but only recently discovered that mof she ciut out wheat, her symptoms greatly improved.

I'm in bed now..DH had a very good time and the men's "pie and pint" evening. The groceries are mow PA and the kitties fed. I'm very glad I cleaned the windows yesterday, instead of giving into the temptation to leave them until today. I certainly didn't have the energy when I got home!

I have however, photographed the spring I have found for the table hinge, and added that to my.job advert. It's now just a case of old one out,.new one.in!

Tomorrow's going to be busy in the morning,.but nothing.like.today. I'll write a.list of things I need to remember.

Dogged, farmers definitely have a tough job dependent on weather and other things out of their control.

Hi Peaches.

Kittykatt, hope you get a good nights sleep in preparation of your busy Friday.

Lucylee, it can be hard not knowing how to dress for going out. For Thanksgiving we went to the pow wow, outdoors, so I wore a flannel shirt and nice sweatpants and was comfy for a few hours, then it got windy and I was freezing. If I had worn a jacket I would have had to carry it and burn up the first part of the day. Ya can’t win lol.

I’m going to edit my list and probably call it quits for the day.
