I've been gone all day. (I think I suggested to trissie that since Thursday had an "H", hockey could be the theme, since we coudln't think of any winter "T"s. )
helia, how fun to see that many deer! Do you live in a rural, secluded lot/ acreage?

church - I brought my 2002 sweatshirt from the Utah Olympics to church for Pastor. Shirt is a generous L, he's definitely XL, but received it with joy. Said his son will be able to wear it. They love to watch the events on TV.
mom's house - snow removal guy had been there - so much appreciated that I didn't have to do snow removal in this cold and wind. I did the front steps, washed teh toilets since they will be sitting for over a week, picked up a couple med boxes for a week, so I could dish out my calcium and other supplements instead of taking all the bottles.
Checked dfBS house - her driveway was clear too.

When I got home, I was able to start my ryebread. It's now in the oven, and the cardamon braid is on its first rise.
Somewhere in there I had a meal of chicken, carrots, baked potato, and a lettuce salad with pomegranates. When I was trying to get the pomegranate morsels out of the fruit, iti broke apart and spread those little kernels (or what do youcall them?) all over hte floor in the K. Big mess; swept up.
3 LOL are clean but not folded. There will be some pressing to do. And choosing. I guess that's UP NEXT.
My bed looks like I had a fight with the covers last night, and that's where I need to put my suitcase for packing.

This is a wonderful place to proclaim all these little successes that I used to share with mother. Of course, if she were still here, I wouldn't be going to FL.

(((Gma))), this is a soft place to visit. My girls are into retro clothing so I’m sure the top will be much appreciated and in style. What a nice gesture.

Helia, Fable sounds adorable. Labs are under appreciated imho. My mind can’t comprehend your weather. I follow someone on Instagram who lives in Minnesota on the lakes and it’s -55F there today. She videos her dogs playing in the snow.
I’m enjoying your wildlife vision. It has been hunting season here so the wildlife is scarce, other than a possum or squirrel eating the turkey food.

LAnn, I’m glad your body didn’t react to the vaccine.

Dogged, a visit with db sounds nice. I’d be asleep before 3 hours came around, I fell asleep during an action show tonight. Would Tylenol (or whatever is equivalent these days) help?

Kittykatt, booking the church now does seem early but with so many people celebrating it’s a smart thing to get done as soon as possible. The weekends in December fill up so quickly.

Dh brought supper home, turkey, so that’s my excuse for falling asleep. His appt went well. He gained 8 lbs but his a1c went down. Now we are just chilling to a tv show before bed.

Bama, it's not -55 in MN on the thermometer. That's the wind chill. That's what the temp feels like, and tells how fast frostbite sets in on bare skin (less than 5 minutes). Bundled up, we handle it! But we also recognize that it IS COLD! Some dogs, with thick heave fur, do enjoy playing in the snow, but the pads on their feet also need to be paid attention to for frostbite.
We havne't had much snow in volume. Maybe 2 inches. Warm air holds more moisture than cold, so there is rarely measuralbe snow when it's below 0.

Ahh, I did wonder. She lets her dogs out with no protection on them but maybe she doesn’t let them stay out for very long. I noticed she videos from her doorway and then they are seen napping in front of a fireplace. It’s beautiful there. She bought a property from a retired couple who landscaped a lot of it, she even has a tree with pink pine cones in the spring. I enjoy seeing it all, so different from here.

Now I’m wanting warm bread and butter.

Gma, no we're not rural at all. We're fairly close to the center of this small city actually - and too close, imho, to a busy road. I can walk to a Whole Foods market in about 5 minutes. LOL! We're in a central neighborhood where houses were built on 0.5+ acre properties. Ours is technically 2 lots, over 1 acre. So, we get to pay property taxes on 2 parcels of land. And we're fairly wooded, full of mature trees - and brush too. In fact, there are no houses across the street from us, just forest on a hill that goes up to the next street. We have a wooded part of our own property as well, so, all in all, we get to see a fair bit of wildlife here. It's one of the things I like most about this house. --It's rare to see that many deer together though. Usually, they're in groups of 2-4.
Oh my word, that's so cold in MN, Bama! Enjoy your "chill" evening. (But don't get chilled by cold temps.)

I'm going to bed and reading there. I'm just falling asleep in front of the fire.

I'll bet that your kitchen smells nice, Gma! My db was baking bread while we were talking, but his yeast turned out to be old so it didn't rise as it should.

LOL Bama, my db and I never seem to run out of things to talk about. Okey, after three hours we start to flag a bit.

L.Ann, I guess the takeaway for the future is to only get one vaccination at a time if I'm getting the seniors dose.

I am feeling much more normal and expect to have a normal day tomorrow. Good night in the meantime.
