A happy Easter to you all. It's wonderful to see that the board is back up. Thanks to helia and Harriet for informing those whose emails were available what was going on. I sure didn't have time to keep checking, as 1. I was doing prep for Sunday dinner much of Saturday, while 2. I was having a pain attack in my tooth that got better after I took the prescription to the pharmacy and got antibiotics for my tooth. Wking up at 0445 with a throbbing mouth on Saturday morning really spoiled my Saturday! But I did manage to get some prep work done for Sunday dinner.

Easter Sunday: Sounds like you all had good celebrations. Trissie, I knew that Pentecost was sometimes called WhitSunday, but never had heard White Sunday, nor had any idea why it was called that. Just looked it up - Here Easter Vigil is a common time for baptism as well - and in our congregation, ANY worship service is acceptable. White because those to be baptized wear white, and an older liturgical color. The modern liturgical color is Red, the color of the flames. That's looking about 50 days ahead... We had an affirmation of baptism at the Easter Vigil service Saturday night.
Today:
We had pipe organ with "all the stops" along with several brass, tympany, and bell choir, along with regular choir and full congregation singing. The music couldn't have been a better celebration!
MrVKM came for dinner, together we brought a beautiful plate to dfBS, who told me later that one of her kitties enjoyed the whipped cream on top of the jello! There's a joke around here that whipping cream belongs on Jello when there's company coming. Otherwise it's plain.
I told MrVKM that it was a challenge to fix dinner: Mother was often the hostess for holidays. But her 2 sisters, plus brother/sister-in-law would all bring something, and 1 aunt would mash the potatoes while another would stir the gravy. Daddy would light the candles and a couple of cousins would pour water/ milk, and coffee would brew in the 30 cup electric percolator. Yes, that was a very long time ago. Today, we didn't have gravy, but I did it all! And it turned out OK. And there is a ham bone that I can use to make soup later.
