Re: Easter Sunday 2026
Good morning, everyone, and happy Sunday! Happy Easter forall who celebrate today -He is risen!
Thank you to Harriet and all who have worked to get this board back up and running again.
It's still quite dark out, but I think we'll.get a beautiful sunrise today. I need to get moving as we need to be early for church today -were expecting lots of people for the Easter service.

Re: Easter Sunday 2026
Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt, and happy Easter! I hope that you have a lovely service.
I have washed my hair, done two loads of laundry and run the dw. I had hoped to get a slow cooker of pork going for Germane, but am finished for the night. I have two pieces of pork thawed out. I'll slow cook Germane's to get plenty of broth, but I am leaning toward either roasting or baking mine. Tomorrow's main goal will be to call my db to wish him a happy Easter. I don't think that it will be a long call, as we talked ourselves out already this week, LOL.
See you later!

Re: Easter Sunday 2026
He is risen, hallelujah, hallelujah!
Happy Sunday to ye all!
Haven't been able to get here since Friday morning. I'd see the boards running when peeking from my cell phone, but by the time I'd sit down at the computer, no luck. I was busy, though
Friday, I got the house cleaned (not that more time and loving wouldn't be nice), and yesterday, I got the Easter baking done - Easter bread and Easter lamb cake. Garden has also been getting attention, as well as laundry.
We did a family movie night on Friday this week - one of the twins was starting to make comments that I do not approve being said in this household, where we believe all men are created equal, so it was time to watch The Schindler's List. And I must say that I was very much surprised at how much the kids were into it, it's a really long movie with running time over 3 hours, and I asked halfway through (we started late, so this was after 10pm) if they wanted to stop for the night and watch the rest the other day, but they vehemently refused. I am glad we were able to watch this without DBD - it wouldn't be age appropriate for her, but at 7th and 8th grade, they are or will soon cover these topics at school. Actually DS has Anne Frank's diary as his mandatory reading material this year. And I think a story of redemption and of the change even one man can bring if he is brave and determined enough. I'll look into One Life or All of My Loved Ones for coverage on sir Nicholas Winton, but not now, we need something lighter for a change
DBD is coming home this afternoon, and my parents want to stop by sometimes after she gets here, and since it's finally all nice and sunny, we should get the patio furniture out.
kittykatt, love your SHEM - indeed, we need hope more than ever!
Dogged, have a nice call with DBro!

Re: Easter Sunday 2026
Good morning and Happy Easter!
Thank you for the start Kittykatt!
Enjoy Easter service, Kittykatt. I really missed you all yesterday. I could not even read posts properly...
trissie what is Easter lamb cake?
Maus by Spiegelman is an excellent book in comic book format. Dkids (older ones) might find it good.
I'm impressed they'd watch Schindler's List... You are a great mom.
Enjoy your call with your Dbrother, Dogged
Special thank you to Harriett
It feels good to be back.
Thursday; we enjoyed the workshop - did not get to post after:)
I did get dinner done for all of us on Friday. It was gorgeous outside: 23 C.... I snuck out a couple of times
Yesterday we washed more dishes , got the main floor back to normal(ish). Got supplies for Easter egg hunt.
Had a nice Zoom chat with a friend.
Today:
I have class this morning
Then,
the Egg Hunt.
I still need to place some eggs - can't leave them where Dpup can get them...
Since we had a lot of rain last night- it will be indoors.
There is a basketball game this aft. I want to watch and dpup will need her walk when it's not raining.
I have dGkids in my future tomorrow - no school. So, I'd better deal with household stuff:)
Starting MR - and D2Ex

And Good afternoon to Euro-SHEs !
Kittykatt, thanks for the start, happy Easter !
Dogged, glad that you have regular long phone talks with your DB. Sleep well !
trissie, congrats on getting lots done, house, baking and garden ! Happy Easter to you and yours!
Hi kitkat, happy Easter, glad you have better weather now.
Been trying to post but the boards didn't agree and I didn't have time to insist... DUncle was there, we enjoyed dinner and breakfast with him, then he left on his bike (he is doing a several-day trip in Brittany). Nurses come daily at home to change the dressing on my shoulder wound - it isn't stitched to allow for better healing but it requires special care that MrNG isn't trained to do. And it is a bit painful for several hours after each nurse visit.
This morning we had a nice choclate egg hunt in the garden. Now kids are restless so we wil ltry to find somewhere to go in the afternoon to get some fresh air. And back home in time for the nurse visit.

Re: Easter Sunday 2026
Gee, just put in a "request for service", which took seconds, and don't even know that it made a bit of difference, since, in theory, all sites/addresses affected are in line for attention and it does come. There had been a widespread problem March 31 and in my limited understanding, the efforts to fully correct over subsequent days can sometimes mean further disruption before all is well.
In the early morning light, I've taken a photo of my dmother's specimen Dogwood and sent along to my children and in-law children today. Some of them and their kids may remember me pointing out the features of the bloom. My older children will remember my children's sermons in church about them. Maybe. Do our children ever remember what we say? Sometimes I'm surprised either way.

Re: Easter Sunday 2026
Oh it is so nice to just zip in here quickly! I missed you all. I tried to stay busy but got a bit distracted. And I'll pay for that today. But I'll get everything done and it will be alright.
Thank you Harriet and Twins and other mods who worked to get the site back up and running!
He is risen indeed!
FFB, I take it that the doctor removed the lump somehow? Is it painful? Glad you got it taken care of. The chocolate egg hunt sounds fun - and tasty!
Oh that is a great movie, Schindler's List, trissie. I think it was my introduction to Liam Neeson. Yeah, probably not appropriate for DBD. Enjoy your Easter baked goods today!
Enjoy the class this morning, kitkat. And enjoy the Easter egg hunt and time with family!
How was the sunrise service, Kitty? Enjoy your Easter lunch! What was on the menu?
I'm up a bit late. Dh refilled the bird feeder this morning and we've had a lot of traffic.
Yesterday, I went to 2 grocery stores and got everything we need for Easter dinner! It was a lot of grocery shopping, but it felt good to get it done. The workers at the meat dept. at WF had to search for a leg of lamb, so I'm glad I went early. I also heated up rotisserie chickens and made rice because I was bringing the main for CG1 yesterday, which met 5-9ish. I made way too much food and brought home a LOT of rice and some chicken, though I left a lot of chicken for the host family to enjoy. I wasn't too productive in the afternoon. I just did my normal daily tasks, ran and emptied the dw, did sundry deskwork tasks, and emailed dsil + A, the mother of the other teen who will come stay with us next fall.
Today, we're going to church - it will probably be a long service. This afternoon, I'd like to get in a short jog and also grade the midterm exams that were technically due on Friday. . . Ha! (Midterm grades are being posted on Monday so that's the hard deadline.) I'll help with the cooking. We're hosting dinner for 9 at 6 pm. We are making: leg of lamb, mashed potatoes, a tray of root veggies (carrots, baby potatoes, parsnips, turnip), and salad. The girls are bringing ribs, home made bread, and brownies. The Cs are bringing fruit and moscato. We also have ice cream and Easter candy. SO plenty of food for all!
