That last post sat unsubmitted for a couple hours. In the meantime, I got lost in the internet and joined the anchored women club -- yes, yes, yet another organizational/planner printables kind of thing. It was $24 (plus tax) for one month. The main thing was, I wanted to see their one page monthly master list and get an editable copy of it.
Not worth $24 because in the part for daily habits, there are only 8 lines. For my daily routines I need more than that.
I actually have a pretty good layout for a month on one page in Excel, but mine has to be printed in landscape style and I preferred portrait. Which theirs is. BUT... theirs is so tiny, it's useless.

So I have since cancelled this membership already, so I won't be charged monthly for it. SMH.

For a person who has a very small bank account right now, after paying for the roof and increasing my insurance premium, I seem to be spending money like a drunken sailor. (Apologies to sailors -- my grandfather and my father-in-law were in the Navy and I never saw either one take a drink.)
Anyway -- I did order a cushion for the chaise lounge and two outdoor pillows that say "relax" and will tie together the two colors on the chairs.

I have been sitting here under the guise of typing church minutes and teacher group minutes, but that has not been done yet.
Tomorrow is another day.

Lucylee I’m surprised your Dh loved Rocky Top but I’ll take it as a sign of our affinities. It makes me think of all mt Tennessee ancestors and how they farmed on some of those rocky knobs.

The cap held in my little corner of the world, so storms didn't happen here.

DS17, GF16 and a friend just arrive home. DD14 is in her room talking on phone with a friend.

All is safe so I'm going to call it a day and relax in bed.

Sweet Dreams to all

Oh my -- I have not been watching the weather --so glad to hear from you, LadyM!

I have typed, printed, and emailed the church minutes. That took approx 30 minutes.
Now to do the teacher group.

DDIL called and said softball practice had lasted 3 HOURS!!! She said dgd felt so bad. She had to get her methotrexate shot yesterday and apparently, it sometimes leaves her feeling tired and generally yucky.
DDIL also asked me if I would mind if both dgrands stayed with her parents tomorrow night, and then they would both be with me Saturday night. It told her that was fine. They still fuss a little bit, but it's getting slightly better, I think. I don't look forward to getting us all ready for church on Sunday, but last week, we were ready with time to spare. And this means I have another night "off."

Yes, Twins, the song "Rocky Top" debuted in 1967 -- on Christmas Day, I believe. The Osbourne Brothers sang it and dh just loved it from the first time he heard it. In later years, after a winning ballgame, he and his players would sing on the bus ride home, and this was one he would always sing, and eventually they began requesting it at pep rallies! He would sing it acapella at pep rallies and assemblies, and it really became associated with him by students at our school. He would sometimes even sing it to his classes. It got kinda embarrassing, because a lot of people thought that was the only song he knew! On the contrary, there were very few country or bluegrass songs from the 60s and early 70s that dh did NOT know. He memorized lyrics just like he (and ds and dgs) memorized sports trivia and historical facts. But a lot of people seemed shocked when dh started singing other songs with ds, at church and other gatherings.
He did NOT enjoy hearing your local college band play it on those occasions when we played each other, but he sure did on one particular Saturday in October when y'all faced the Other School in our state, LOL!

Typing is DONE. I wish I could type faster. It takes me entirely too long to compose a post here, or to type the minutes from these meetings. But it is DONE and I am glad. Apparently I do a fair job at it; one of the church members constantly praises me and told me once that he wished I took minutes at the city council meetings, LOL!

Cathy, I hope your dh's knee felt better as the day went on.

Looks like I am having cheese crackers and Cheerios for supper. (Don't feel sorry for me; it's just that it got so late, and I'm not super hungry.)

(((Harriet))) Hope all goes well with the appointment tomorrow!

Nancy, it sounds like you have had a great day! I'm so glad the glasses are working out!

Mystery, I dawdled all morning too! (And I got a good sleep score on my watch, btw!)

LadyM, I hope your dd's team won. In my experience, a LOT of the students who attend such games are not all that interested in the game itself. It's just a nice break from school and a chance to relax and talk to friends. I'm glad schools excuse students for those kinds of things though. That's an important part of school, too.

(((Blessed))) I'm sorry your mom has been having a rough time. I hope tomorrow will be better.

LadyM, your ds is so blessed to have you to talk to! I read a quote somewhere -- I think Jane Goodall -- which said,
A mother is someone who will listen to your problems until you are bored with them.
I put that on a plaque for my mother. It is certainly true in our case. ;)

Twins, one of my best friends was just talking about being the grumpy old woman when we ate lunch last month. Similar situation to yours -- she said someone ( agreat-aunt of hers, I think) was building a house next door in her subdivision, and her nephew was playing in the sand pile. An older boy was riding a four-wheeler and started riding up the sand pile and jumping with it! It scared her to death! She went out and told him in no uncertain terms that he was NOT to be on that property on the four-wheeler ever again!
-- Talking about your peace lily. I still need to do something with that tall skinny corn plant. I'm just so afraid I will kill it and I've had it since I was pregnant with ds. But it is pitiful. I did put some of the miracle gro spikes in it today. I have two peace lilies that probably need attention also. They are beginning to get a few brown leaves, but when I water them, they perk up nicely.

Waving to Aflyer and CostumeLady!

I've been at this computer waaay too long. I'm going to relax with the Sudoku puzzle and crossword in the newspaper.
Tomorrow is another day.

Costumelady, I hope the preparations go well. Have a great time.

Good ol' Rocky Top.

We have managed all the preparations for being away tomorrow, as usual. Charging dh's tablet, one thing we forgot last time. He has to wait by himself a lot tomorow.

We did go outside and try to diagnose the hose with the problem. It didn't act the same way, so I think there was a blockage that has been dislodged. So my watering is now on schedule.

Left outside, btw, I learned that our front doorbell quit working again. Sigh. It lights up, which is actually unfortunate, since someone would assume it WAS working and might not even knock.

I reached another little milestone. The first time I've needed hair conditioner after shampooing in about a year and a half. I am trying a "shine" set of shampoo and conditioner by Gar nier, and it seems fine. But I also notice that leaving the "curl" shampoo makes no difference about curls, so I guess I have morphed into Shirley Temple for real, and maybe it wasn't the shampoo that's been doing it at all. My dmother would be so amused - I look just like her IF you took her photo right AFTER she'd had curlers in her hair for a long time. Her complaint was always how straight hers was. Maybe... .. my dmother's hair color with my ddad's soft texture? But Shirley? I never looked like her in my life, except once after an unfortunate home permanent.
