I finished the stack of medical paperwork and saw an empty inbox!!!! Then I "bite the bullet" and pulled out the tub of papers from earlier in the year when I did a stash-n-dash. Yug. I've sorted them into categories and have the rest of the tax related papers for 2011 ready to be processed. I'm guess-ta-mating another 8 hours of effort and all the papers will be done for last year.

  I'm having to giggle here because I can't do it IRL. LO is sitting next to me at the desk and he is coloring a picture of an apple and a tomato. His hands get tired of holding the crayon and he says "here, you do it now". So I take the crayon and start coloring.....he almost immediately says "Here, I'll do it." and takes the crayon back from me and starts coloring again because apparently I'm not doing it to HIS standard!!!!

When I first heard about that fire, and the large number of cats, I figured bittersweet would be involved with that more somehow. I agree with Lilac.

Oh, sorry to hear you had a doozy of a meeting, BookSaver. I hope you're not facing unwanted changes at work.

I was sorry to hear of so much weather difficulty, Lynlee, but grateful you are making out okay. There have been stories on our news reports and it makes me think of you.

Yes, BookSaver and helia, I think HRH was grateful to have some no-brainer tasks that included driving out! Most of his days are not so intense. He does get awfully disappointed in people, sometimes, when they are looking for shortcuts or excuses instead of taking their responsibility.

Dstepson came by this afternoon and very cleverly replaced the screen part of a window screen for us. Honestly, it looks brand new and fit back in like a dream. (These are Pella windows.) He wanted to see if he could do this, and it went so well we'll probably have him do a few more for us and he'll want to do his own. One thing about it - it is messy. If you ever do this for yourself, do it outside.

Dd13 cleaned her room today and I vacuumed. Looks good in there.

I'm not even sure we have all the papers we need to file our taxes. We got another one in the mail today. . .

Small group has been attended. Kitchen has been set back a-right. Brownies have been made. Older two have been tucked into bed. Dd13 stayed on at the small group home as it is also the home of her good friend from church and school. She is sleeping over tonight; we'll collect her at church tomorrow. Dh is in the middle of international phone calls (to Korea), trying to woo potential grad students he would like to have on board next year.

I'm going to head toward bed. I'll get up a little early and make up the salad fresh in the morning.
