Oh, Lucylee, it is funny to read all about baby coming (or not coming) whenever! It will get here when its ready. However, these days drs. don't like women to go over a long time and will induce. I'm so glad I'm past all that!
Tried to do some cleaning this evening. Working in the laundry room. Cleaned the sink and cabinet in there and was working on getting some rust off the washer (I hadn't closed door properly and bleach ate away at some paint). It still needs work.
But DH called me into the office. I've just done a difficult proposal. There is more paperwork to do when he gets back from the store. It feels like we just never get a chance to stop, and my house needs cleaning. Lunches still need made, coolers cleaned out. And I am pooped.
Well, I'll try to get something done before he gets back. I know he's awfully tired too.
Cool Tuesday

Re: Cool Tuesday
I had a chuckle when I read this. I said something similar to DDIL when she called earler. DGS5 has talked his Dad (DSon) into teaming up with the challenge of not getting their hair cut this summer and instead to wear their hair in pony tails."It's only a hair cut and it will grow back".
We had fun today. It was raining so fishing didn't happen and we had to picnic under a shelter to stay dry, but we didn't care. it was the attitude of care free adventurous outing that was the best. WHAT and WHERE we did it really didn't matter.
The MPB claimed DH as soon as we returned so I laid down with LO for his nap. We slept 3.5 hours!

Re: Cool Tuesday
I was induced with both ds and dd16. Ds was happy and comfortable and 2 weeks after my due date, he still hadn't shown up. The Dr. said it was time. He was 9 lb. 7 oz.
I'm glad the Dr. didn't wait longer to induce. Dd16, true to her persona of defining herself as different from ds, came 5 weeks early. My water was leaking - but she wasn't making an appearance, so after about 18 hours, I was induced; it was not safe for her to be hanging out with the membranes broken. I think my inductions were both legitimate, matters of safety for baby and mother rather than matters of convenience. Dd14 came on her own, 10 days after her due date. Ah, labor was SO much easier with natural contractions than with induced ones.

That's what I'm thinking, helia -- that unless something unusual is going on, like you described w/dd16 -- then the doctor is not going to be in a big hurry to induce before the due date. Even if ddil IS getting impatient. Probably 90% -- if not more -- of expectant mothers are impatient by their last few weeks!
Tomorrow is another day.

Re: Cool Tuesday
Dd13 bitten 10 times by mosquitoes when I asked her to go outside with me this evening and actually pulled her away from her sketching. Oh, how I wish I'd never done it because I (of ALL people) know she is so allergic to insect bites, especially mosquito, which are more common in the evening. But I needed some help at the chicken yard and it seemed so simple, then I noticed Sammie had burrs in her coat, so we stayed out longer than we should have... ... and finally, after being inside about a minute, dd realized what had happened to her. I got topical Benadryl on as quickly as I could, but they were swelling so fast. They were dime-sized in both diameter and thickness in minutes and getting bigger. Then she felt sick, and also gave up the idea of exercising with me tonight because she didn't want to aggravate them with clothing moving across them. Rats!! Feeling like a bad mother tonight.
I have put in so many VBS hours, Elizabeth. I remember a lot of fun, a lot of work!

Meant to ask Sherinjoy how the concert was. Had to look up Idina Menzel. I thought I remembered that she had been on Glee. DD25 loves musicals and had the songs from RENT and WICKED playing all the time when she would come home on breaks from college. Anyway, she'd love that show. She just got tickets to see BILLY ELLIOT, when that one comes to big city near her town.
How you do your work is a portrait of yourself.

Ellyphant - Thanks for asking - Idina was amazing, wonderful, life changing! Tell your daughter to look her up online and check Idina's tour schedule - she's playing all across the country this summer - she might be nearby her city. Idina's voice is so powerfully beautiful, she sang one song acapella without a mic and it filled the concert hall. She is traveling with an orchestra that backs her perfectly. When she sings a song from Rent, she asks for volunteers to come up on stage and sing it with her. She picks young (high school) theater kids to join her and they are awestruck to be singing with their idol. It was so heartwarming to see them shine and have an experience of a lifetime, and so generous of her to encourage kids to study theater and song by letting them perform with her. She stayed for an hour afterwards signing autographs and posing for pics. If I ever get a chance to see her again, I will in a minute.
Kathryn - I forgot to comment on your son seeing Harvey in NY. Isn't that Jim Parson from BBTheory's show? That would be fun to see. And you mentioned Wicked - I would love to see the Broadway version of Wicked. I've seen it in San Francisco and it is coming back again next year, so I'll go again. Definitely on my list of places to go - NYC and Broadway plays.
Off to bed - sleep well everyone in the village.

Re: Cool Tuesday
(((Harriet))) You are not a bad mother!!! Mosquitoes are SNEAKY.
Did I tell y'all, we went to an outdoor party w/ds & ddil, and all of us were bitten ALL OVER, without realizing it till later, and the bites produced larger sores than any of us had ever experienced before in our lives. * Except for dh, who thinks his daily garlic pill protects him. The mosquitoes didn't bother him at all.* But the bites looked worse than anything ds, ddil, or I had ever had before.
Well -- I did ALL my thank you notes. I can gloat to ds now.
Tomorrow, I go for allergy skin test. They like to re-do it every 2 or 3 years to see how the shots are working and make adjustments.
See y'all later!
