Happy Anniversary to OKay and Mr. OKay!
We are all packed and ready to leave tomorrow morning. Another early day, up at 5 am, plane leaves at 8:40 am. Ds will take us to airport and then go on into his office. We should be at home sometime around 1 pm.
This morning early ddil, her dmom and the two dgkids left to visit ddil's dsis & family in Tenn. It's a 6 hour drive from here and she wanted to miss the afternoon traffic. We were up with them to say goodby; we probably won't see them again until January.
Last night we went into D.C. to the Twilight Tattoo. Normally it would have been outside, but because of the heat and thunderstorms in the area it was done inside one of the auditoriums. (They kept the canon outside, but it shook the buiding when fired!) It really was a good event. No matter which group does the ceremony they all seem to be just a little different.
Twins, I think you are making great headway with unpacking and getting your house set up.
Harriet, you'll have just as much fun and the splash party taking pictures and watching all the little ones playing in the water!
You all have been working hard in your homes this week. I'm anxious to get back home again, now that the time has come to end our vacation. Ds#2 has been staying there to take care of our ddogs for us so we didn't have to board them. He does try to keep up with housekeeping, but it's only the bare essentials since he still has to go to work. I don't expect any more from him, he's doing us a favor!
It's time to say good night....see you all tomorrow!

Ok, I've written more than enough words for the sermon. I'll start the editing process tomorrow. One of the parishioners had said, "Short but sweet, a nice change" when he shook my hand last week and I wasn't sure if that meant the sermon/service was too short or not. I know I've got at least another 5 minutes to preach (their minister usually preaches 15 minutes) and can still get out in under an hour but I'm not sure I want to make my sermon too long. For one thing, I'm not used to preaching for a long time. Secondly, better to be brief and not belabor points or muddy the waters by introducing too many thoughts.
Dh had a good choir practice and they actually got out 15 minutes early. He stopped for milk on the way home and managed to buy 2% instead of 1% so he'll be drinking that for the next while. (He was chatting with our musician and she grabbed the first bag and he just grabbed another of what she had without thinking.) Thankfully, he drinks more than I do, and drinks a lot, so he should be able to get through the 8 litres before it goes bad, although it is only 11 days from now (we usually drink at least a litre a day between us.)

Hello everybody. I wanted to come by and say hi. I've been reading and talking to you all in my head.
Indiana, hope you are getting stronger. It's nice how they helped out with Jake.
Thinking of Sadie getting ready for her trip. And Twins trying to get her house organized. I have a salad spinner, one of the first cheap ones, not nice, but I do think leftover salad lasts longer in the refrig. if I get all the water off.
Happy Anniversary OKay and DH. BWTG getting all that computer work done.
MT the puppies are adorable. I like the little pink feet.
Dove, I will try to remember the white sock tip, very clever.
Sunny, can't believe you've been up there long enough to be coming home already. Where does the time go?
Hello to everybody I've missed... Harriet (sorry about the bad day and the tick bite and the bruised forehead, Dee, Lilac..Lucylee.. Lynlee Kathryn (sorry I wasn't able to help you with the pics.
It's really hot here. I'm used to leaving A/C house and walking outside, but I could tell it was oppressive lately. The weathermen have been talking about the "heat index" which has been around 106° when we factor in the humidity. DH comes home thoroughly tired / wilted.
DH has a stiff neck, or just plain neck pain. A few days ago he had pain in a molar, not sure if that's where it's coming from or not. The tooth isn't hurting any longer, but his neck is.
I have to help with a funeral Sat. We are going to another county to a clubhouse to serve...and I don't know if I really should have volunteered for this as I will be there a long time. Have to show up early morning before lady leaves for another town for the funeral and wait for everyone to come back, then clean up...and I will have to stay for the whole thing as the woman I'm going with and I are sharing a car.
House is a mess still. I can't stand being torn up like this. I did order the entertainment unit today but it won't be here for 3 weeks. And then we have to do the finishing. I'm not happy about that, but at least it's some progress.
I still have chores to do, so will get to that now.

I spent the better part of 10 hours cleaning the fronts of the kitchen cabinets and drawers. They look almost new. We had bought this cleaner and then there is a product that it suppose to restore them. I will put it on after my company leaves.
I finally called dm. She said they hadn't gotten hotel reservations. There is a ball tournament going on this weekend so they may end up out of luck. I have 2 extra beds but I will need a break, so hope they can get a room/rooms. Dm asked if it was all right if they still came. She didn't ask to start with, so don't know why she asked now, except db had gave her a hard time for coming. Db can not stand her sisters, period. Dh isn't real thrilled about being over run with extra females but he seems better with it than I am. Hopefully since I am dreading it so much, it will turn out all right. The one aunt can get her tail in the air at the drop of a hat and it is not pretty.
Dd1 is home. Dgd15 had deleted her FB account yesterday. I just checked and she is back on. Some of her comments are uncalled for. If I can see them, dd1 should be able to also.
Well I better get to bed. Dd1 and I are walking in a little over 6 hours.
I need to buy groceries tomorrow but I don't know what to fix. With this heat, it's all I can do to cook for 2 of us, now I will have a group. I better buy cheese to go with my whine, when I make it to the store.
