I sure wish I had your stamina Cowinkie. I had big, big plans for today but after I made breakfast, prepped for dinner and made dessert this morning I stalled. I think it is age related. I no longer can do everything I want to in one day. Just cleaning out my laundry room has taken me all week. My back starts hurting and I have to go sit down. I told myself it must be my age - I am the oldest member here except when Mama Piano visits.

Funny story. When I finished my dental work (the 7 veneers) Mr. Guy sent a picture to Sweetie. Yesterday comes a picture of a dog that looks exactly like Willis and he has a huge set of human teeth grinning at us. Sweetie wrote - "Willis was so jealous of Norma's dental work we gave in." We haven't stopped laughing.

We are experiencing hot humid storms each afternoon and are waiting for one now. Yesterday the computer went down for awhile and Mr. Guy had to crawl under the desk to see how he could start it up again. Everytime something like this happens I stop breathing. We have had lightning hit us before and lost computer, garage door opener and telephone. Not fun . I think I will shut down right now.

I picked up apples again watered the borders in the back yard H. watered the front.
Dgd has played in the play house, done side walk chalk, and Peter Pan the cartoon version is on now.

I got the bed made finally. Kitchen needs more attn. after lunch.
I knitted up a few rows this morning.

I've napped ~ now it's hot so inside stuff will be next.
Dress I got for dgd for 25cents at the yard sale yesterday fits perfectly so that's a plus!

Helia: I like the idea of attending different churches. That was part of my confirmation class, we attended 3 different churches including Eastern Orthodox.

The closing ceremony is boring now so I'll turn it off. Actually, it wasn't overly exciting although I called dh up to watch Eric Idle.

We visited different churches as part of my church membership class as a teen. I was impressed with all, but distinctly remember the Greek Orthodox, which was just amazing to me - grand. That particular church congregation/building is greatly loved in the community. After my former boss (a U.Methodist minister) lost his father, he couldn't get his mother to leave the house and he was getting worried because he thought her grieving was turning unhealthy. Finally he found a Grief Service and to his surprise she agreed to go with him. As he pulled into that church's parking lot, though, she let him know in no uncertain terms she was very unhappy - she had thought he'd said "Greek Service" and had agreed so she'd have the chance to go to that Greek Orthodox Church.

Happy you had a good experience with the dentist, Norma.

I exercised. Fielded phone calls. Evening Dailies are almost done and the evening bug hunt is over.

HRH watched the Horizon show with me and was so influenced he has already put part into practice. I knew it would interest him since the presenter is a man his same age.

Wow, I’m late to the party tonight… but hmmm… suggestions? Well – as I mentioned a day or so ago, wiping down the shower floor w/a M r. C lean pad is apparently working wonders in the dh’s bath!
Also, I am (so far) remembering to s/s & flush the never-used toilet that used be ds’. It is NEVER used, but it still gets moldy/mildewy-something in it if it is ignored over a week or so.

This is long b/c I'm trying to cuop with everyone!!!

I am going to time my chores this week. I’ve printed out a new daily/weekly checksheet and my goals for the coming week are (1) to try my best to follow it and (2) to emphasize getting back into the exercise routine I was doing sooo well in June. I’m so disappointed in myself for getting sidetracked on that in July.

I haven’t attended a lot of different denominations, but I’d kinda like to. Not that I want to switch, but just because I’d like to know more about some others, so I think that's nice that y'all do that, helia!

(((Cowinkie))) -- and (((Harmony))) – I can certainly sympathize with itching problems. Meant to tell Harriet a few days ago – YES – I agree, it is high time for dh to get a second opinion with his itch, too! He goes back to the same doctor Wednesday. I am bothered a bit with my own hands itching right now, too, but I imagine it is somewhat related to stress of going back to school… and G old B ond Medicated Lotion and/or cortisone crème usually helps me enough to get by.

Sweetie is pleased that I am still decompressing, his words. He told me to take my time with the process. That hardest part for me so far is the feeling that I must be doing "something".

That will be my problem, Cowinkie, or at least part of it… the other part(s) will be the “donwanna do anything b/c I’ve got all day/the rest of my life syndrome” and the “dh is not doing anything so I’m not going to do anything either syndrome.”
DH does DO things – just today he unloaded the dishwasher & put everything away, and of course he handles ALL the garbage chores, washes towels & underwear, helps with all the grocery chores, does a lot of weeding/pruning of shrubbery, just lots of things… just not on MY timetable.

We saw the Bourne movie last night, Cowinkie. We both really liked it.
We also saw Hope Springs & The Campaign this weekend.
DH HATED Hope Springs. He is NOT a Meryl Streep fan. Also, the subject matter was just NOT to his liking AT ALL… but I like Meryl Streep, and I love Tommy Lee Jones & Steve Carrell, so I enjoyed it.
We both really liked The Campaign but I must warn y’all – there’s a lot of off-color humor. We liked it, probably, b/c the Will Ferrell character reminded us sooo much of a state politician in our area. (Whom we do not vote for!) He was probably inspired very much (w/extreme exaggeration) after a presidential candidate from Harriet’s state… but he definitely resembled the guy we know, too!

I am going to look for an Aladdin water bottle like that, BookSaver. I think I would drink regular water more, if I had a top more like a coke bottle top. And something SPILLPROOF for the school desk.
That is just sad that people would steal box loads of books from the library!

The house DOES sound big. Our house is definitely big enough for the two of us, especially – it was quite large enough for the three of us until ds moved back from college, LOL – and we only have 7 sinks – 8 if you count the kitchen double sink as 2! I haven’t counted doors here yet, LOL!
Nap mats here are pretty standard issue @ Wmart… seems like there used to be not much choice at all. Red on one side, blue on the other. Obviously things have changed!

The $8 backpack will likely hold up for this year at least. Leather bottom IS highly recommended by ds, though, who carried the same back pack for LONG time. Not throughout his entire high school/college career, but long time. I noticed Twins already mentioned this, too -- ds's did not come from L L B ean, but they do have some really nice ones in their catalogue if you want to put the money in it. They monogram also, of course. I have a student who claimed she carried the same one since elementary school, and that was where she got hers.
Your dnieces will be the PERFECT resource for you! It is sooo nice to have a friend w/a child a year ahead of yours. Seems like I always had someone in t-ball, etc, to help me navigate the waters.

Wow – (((LisaB ))) – any ONE of those events would be enough to send you for a loop! We definitely understand… I am sooo sorry about your dgmother… and also sorry about the wedding being called off – even if it’s for the best and no matter how you feel about it personally, I know it’s been stressful for all concerned. I don’t know if you were here when we went through that one… * whew * The Lord definitely had His hand in it and had our wonderful ddil waiting in the wings, but we didn’t know it at the time. Certainly had some sleepless nights in the meanwhile, and I was really RELIEVED that it didn't work out with the first one. STILL stressful.

Tonight's epic part 2:

DS called to see if we could keep dgs tomorrow, from around 3:00 pm till midnight. He said, "I know he's our baby, and we don't want y'all to feel like you're tied down to a baby or anything... if we're asking too often, just tell us..."

So far, what do YOU think are the chances that we are seeing too much of this little guy???

DH did have some reservations re: our weekly trip to Wmart. And he doesn't want to try to get that done any earlier in the day... sooo... we will either take him with us OR let his dmom sit with him. That REALLY makes me nervous b/c dmil is pretty unsteady on her feet... but she has been almost BEGGING us to let her watch him for a little while. She thinks he can just sit in his little carrier-seat and she can ooohhh & aaahhh over him and rock his seat if he cries... and all will be fine. I just don't know......
OTOH -- Wmart is less than 10 minutes away... and we shouldn't be in there 30 minutes at most. So... maybe it would be okay?
DH said maybe dniece would be available and could "drop in" for a little while?

DS has a chance to go to a party (out of town) where he can maybe "network" a little bit. He didn't say that -- but I'm always thinking that, of course -- and he's excited b/c he expects at the very least to get to swap some country music memorabilia w/another collector or two. So he & ddil want to go to that, and of course we didn't want to turn him down.

I'll have dgs on my own Thurs. night b/c dh & ds are going to a Braves game, and ddil will be working. Otherwise, I don't think we'll be babysitting much this week. NEXT WEEK, I think dgs will be spending the entire night with us Wed. & Thurs. -- but ddil will come get him during the day Thurs. (I started to say "sleeping over" but that remains to be seen, doesn't it, LOL!!!)

Well it is late, but I've cuop around here, but there was so much I sure wouldn't do much good replying.

About itching...I itch from the sun, and I itch from nerves. And allergies.

Kathryn, I've been thinking that you are getting as much done as I am or maybe more than me. I've been sitting around a lot I guess. At least I'm not feeling sick, just perpetually tired. I know it's my emotional state right now.

I'm watching the Olympics closing. I guess it's a rerun, since Kathryn watched it earlier, right? I'm finding it very disjointed, hard to follow.

Yesterday I got some groceries and made that tuna casserole. We sat with friends at the 50+ dinner. There was not as much of a "message" as I'd thought, just a cute little quiz (oral) and 5 minutes of his thoughts and some prayer. Since I was in church Sat eve I decided to stay home this morning. DH went, stayed for 1 service and then the teen service, leadership training, and he came home after he saw customer. So I was by myself till mid afternoon, kinda nice.

Lucylee, enjoy that DGSon. It looks like you are babysitting a lot. But that will probably vary as their needs go up and down. She is already going back to work? Wow.

Harriet, wanted to ask you, what does your DAunt wear with her dress and apron. Does she wear stockings? What kind of shoes does she wear? I actually got a cotton dress out and wore it to church Sat. eve. It's kind of a retro pattern, and DH says his DMom used to dress like that!
