Wow, I am so impressed with the virtuous caution exhibited in the village today toward our irons. Yes, just be careful - they won't hurt you if you don't use them much. Mystery, what words of wisdom.
... ...get them out of the washer promptly and get them out of the dryer and onto hangers while they're still damp.

Oh, I have such a warm feeling in my heart. Snif.

I'm up again.

Dh hounded me down for a nap.

He's out picking up his dinner now and salad for mine. After we eat, he has choir practice at the second church. I think he's doing one more service before our musician takes over at that church too but that's only if they accept her conditions. Sounds like they will, though. Spent an hour with her this morning since she's nervous but fully understands now that she'll fall under my purview as chair of M&P.

I'm going to try and get the kitchen reclaimed before dh gets back. Also have to cook my own dinner but it will be some form of frozen food.

Good afternoon and Happy New Year! Last night after DD10 left, things went pretty much as I intended. I fixed dinner and today's lunch, cleaned the floors in the sewing room and LR, and folded and put away one LOL. I even shredded some stuff. I did not fold and put away the 2nd LOL. I worked with the foster cat while I worked on deciphering a favorite crochet pattern that has been difficult.

Today is errand day and I am going to get something to keep my crocheted rugs from sliding around and am going to the grocery store. I need to get to bed at a reasonable time, but I very seldom do. I should be down at 9:00 so I am up better in the morning. I have no idea what I am doing for dinner.

Looking in and have CUOP-ed. Long service today - since I was almost last on the agenda I actually shortened my "presidential address" a bit - it was well received. We skipped going to the bridge for the Tashlit service where we cast our sins (in the form of bread crumbs) on the water, and went on to the restaurant where the temple has a holiday meal dutch treat for those who want to attend. A very good meal - we order off the menu but they had matzah ball soup today also. We had perhaps 25 people, including my dd, some older couples and younger people. We got home around 3:15 and I napped hard until dh woke me at five when he was going out to his bowling league. DD is still home; I think she's leaving soon.

Thanks you for the holiday wishes! I'd forgotten that Cathyy is Jewish also!

I have nothing on my agenda for this evening. It's raining out and I'm looking forward to a quiet evening of reading perhaps. The rain is to be heavy so I don't know whether ddogs will get their walk - perhaps just a short trip into the back yard. They were out earlier before the rain started so they should be fine for awhile.

I woke up from the nap with a headache. Perhaps from grinding the teeth, I don't know.

Hello everyone....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISHES TO BLESSEDw2.

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO TWINS' & CATHYY!

Lots of busyness here in the Village today! I had a quiet day here with dh. We just finished supper of leftovers from yesterday. Dfam#2 was here and the guys got the grill out. We had grilled chicken, mac n cheese, peas, beets and biscuits. We had pineapple upside down cake without the pineapple -- just the brown sugar and cinnamon -- ddil doesn't eat much fruit, especially pineapple.

We've been trying to work a little at a time in the back yard. Dh has been trimming low branches on our oak tree and cut down a few trees that sprouted up on their own. I noticed the other day our orange tree was being overgrown with some type of vine. It can grow at least a foot a day. So this afternoon I started pulling it down. I had to crawl under the orange tree to cut the main root stem. Dh wondered where I was and came looking for me. Between the two of us we got it cleared out. We've got a good crop of oranges this summer and I'd hate to see them ruined.

I enjoyed Lynlee's link to the blog about the blue and black chickens.

Dove, what a good find....the cake plate is really pretty.

Lilac, enjoy the football game and watching your dgirls!

Sherinjoy lol at the story of your dfriend's clothes declutter.

Dee, hope your dh's dr. apt went well.

Kally, it's good to hear your dmom is coming home. Will she have someone to stay with her? Hope she continues to heal quickly.

That's all I can remember now. Hello to all. Time to finish cleaning up the kitchen.

Good late afternoon to everyone! Every day I start out thinking I will get here early and it just isn't happening.

Scattered, I had forgotten, if I ever knew, that you grew up in Alaska. What part, if you don’t mind my asking. My dbro got interested in Alaska when he was in the 9th grade, and eventually after he married they moved there. And that was at the time when AK had only 25 miles of paved road in the entire state!!

Happy Birthday, blessedw2, and Happy New Year to Twins and Cathyy.

Kathryn I’m sorry you are still so plagued with fatigue. May this pass soon and you return to good health.

And Mystery! So great to have you back!

And Dove, the cake plate is gorgeous. Wonderful that you saw it up there and were able to snag it.

The weather here is fantastic. Great change from 90's and sometimes 100 to high 70's. Sunny and breezy and lovely. We had better enjoy it while we can because it will be cooler still soon and then downright COLD!

I'm off to run my errands! I will go to fabric shop first, then grocery store, then home to eat. I am thinking of putting away one of the boxes left over from my move MORE THAN A YEAR AGO. Decluttering time perhaps?

Bed is stripped and remade. Dishwasher is running, non-dishwasher dishes are washed, kitchen is tidied and the compost container emptied.

I'll take my progress in babysteps today. I still have to shower and wash my hair before bed to make tomorrow morning at all manageable but I'm waiting for dh to come home so we can watch an episode of tv and maybe he can take me for a walk before my shower.

I have only briefly peeked in. Will try to cuop from today -tomorrow. So much has been going on here that I just couldn't make it to the village until now. I'm exhausted and ready to hit the hay.

Wanted to be sure to wish DBlessedw2 a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY today, before I turned in.

Wanted to get down the street to visit the woman and her dd here for radiation treatments (Hodgkins disease). WAnted to make sure she found out about free parking at this hospital for cancer patients. Knew dShelley used to have it for dgs19 through many hospital stays through the years. Also wanted to know she could call us day or night and made sure she knew where we are. She did know that. Have to tell dh when he comes in that she's going to need propane soon.

Stopped down there to see another very good friend, who just hugged me and cried and cried (over our mutual vdfriend who passed away today.) One thing that she's really upset about is that Virginia has been in the hospital for 3 weeks and it was only Friday that they finally figured out that the heart valve they put in 3 years ago had failed. They hoped to get her strong enough for surgery again.
