Oh, Nancy, when you told me it was fine if I could only do just 2 a day of thank-you notes after my ddad passed away. And now lucylee is suggesting to her dmother that she do just 5 a day.
I spent an hour of my late-morning project time on my desk and files and am very happy with that.
After the school run, went on errands to pet place, pharmacy 2 and Tarjay.

Re: Working Wednesday
Oh yes Harriet I remember that now!
I need to change clothes, it has been muggy here today. H. Is home now. I have changed laundry over again, and even started a new book. I have not figured out hot to make text bold on this yet.

Re: Working Wednesday
Harriet -- dmom is just doubling checking to make sure she includes mention of serving as a pall bearer -- all their pall bearers also sent something as well -- she just doesn't want to overlook that part. Also -- I don't have any idea what she did with the list of food brought to the house -- so I'm just trusting that she has that somewhere. Tonight she mentioned that the 13th will be four months exactly since the funeral, so I believe that is her big goal. The main thing is, she wants to get this all done so she can concentrate on the business tax stuff. I know Twins and Harmony know what she is facing there... and there is very, very little I can do to help with that chore.
She is getting around very well, though. Still wearing the boot, but driving, and although she is a little slow, she is managing very well. Still needs lots of ice & elevation, though or it starts swelling on her. Her friend told her that she had used ice almost the entire time she was in the boot, so that was reassuring to dmom.
AND... hooray... we had a very nice dinner w/dmom, complete with a beautiful, beautiful card and my customary $ gift. She said maybe she and I could go shopping together some day before too long.
* whew *
Now I'm off to visit my dcousin. BBL. Maybe.

Re: Working Wednesday
Done:
x dinner - teriyaki-ed trout, rice, steamed fresh asparagus, dinner rolls. Dh helped.
x kitchen clean up
x email replies to (1) band director, asking for some info on kids and uniforms, (2) a couple moms group child care workers questions. I emailed out potential room assignments this evening. someone will need to move from the nursery and 1s up to the 2s room. . . . (3) dfriend, new on steering comm. She has written a 7 page script for our moms group 1st day skit, and it is hilarious, subtly so. Ah, the English PhD in our midst. . . So glad we could get her on leadership. I sent her kudos for the script. We're meeting tomorrow a.m. to practice.
Next:
- work in ds' room.
Tomorrow is crazy. . . I will possibly be at the church from 9 - 1:30. 9 - meet to rehearse skit. Afterward, the craft coordinator and I are going to look through the moms group curriculum bin and figure out what she needs for crafts. Then, my new 3s teacher will stop by and I'm hoping to give her a copy of the curriciulum. At 12-ish, I'm helping serve food for a funeral for an hour or soe. . . I'm sure hoping I can go home for a bit in between activities - b/c friends will be here for dinner around 6:40 pm. And I need to have the house ready for the carpet cleaners tomorrow night. And I will likely still need to finish ds' room.

Re: Working Wednesday
Spent 3 hours in the dentist's chair getting a new Cerec crown. I read on "1225 Christmas Tree Lane," by Debbie Macomber and am starting chapter 3. The molar didn't need a build-up after all, which was minus #350 cheaper than previously estimated.
We're very happy about that. DH dropped me off, the receptionist phoned him, while the crown was being seated, so he knew to come get me at closing. I'm exhausted, I have 6 pen pal letters, fasting lab work in the a.m. on our 43rd wedding anniversary!
How romantic is that?
Before I left, I dusted the bedroom, bed, and re-made the bed, dust mopped the bedroom, dust mopped the house, and got hot and sweaty. I read a very short e-book, which had the "solution" to losing weight. It said, "To SWEAT!"
DH and his dfriend got to unload a dump truck load of wood at our house, which had been already loaded into the dump truck on Monday. So that's out of the way. Friday may be called off again (to get firewood) due to rain.
Thurs. is a T-storm, pouring rain and lightning day.
Our dgrson-16.5 called to say he passed his college entrance exam and starts as a Freshmen at the community college on the 23rd. He's very excited, we're so proud of him, and he wants to be a pharmacist.
He's been in an accelerated high school-pre-college program for 2 years. He's got a great head on his shoulders. Girlfriends?
He says, "I'm way too BUSY to have a girlfriend! I need to study!"

Re: Working Wednesday
Guest bedroom is ready (sheets washed and back on the bed, completely tidied.)
Working on getting exact size of wardrobe.
<Done - hopefully, I won't have to respond to any more emails about it.>
Ds cleared off his part of the kitchen table so it is now almost clean. I had no idea he had so much on the table!
<Edited to add that dh has just covered the table making signs for the sale!>
