HI everyone! Fast check in - this is the first time I have been home all day, and I'm fixing to go out again too. This morning started with knit/crochet group. We now have some embroiderers too. Then, I bought the dryer, which will be delivered between 9 and 12 tomorrow. They will also take away the old broken one. After that, it was on to volunteer at the cathouse, followed by lunch. I am SO stuffed. I have arranged to have a litter of kittens brought tomorrow evening. (DD12 will be ecstatic). I checked my emails and found out that the Thursday evening knit/crochet group is meeting, so I signed on for that. After that, it will be fireworks viewed from the church parking lot (city fireworks without the ugly traffic). Then, maybe bed, maybe studying, or better yet, clear a path for the new dryer and hang the doors in the sewing room for the new kittens. Gotta go again! Knit/crochet starts NOW!

Dh cooked a nice dinner (and used up some of the cut peppers from earlier this week in the stir fry) and then we went out to run our two errands. Quick and simple, just 50 minutes in total. He dumped me off the elevator on 19 and made me walk up the stairs since I wasn't loaded down with stuff. I have to get into the habit of walking up to 25 before leaving and taking the elevator from there. That will give me at least 3 flights per day. Somehow I got credit for 2 for no reason at all before I did the walk up the stairs. So that has me confused. Anyway, I'm at 5 for the day, and walked up 42 steps.

I'm ready for bed now but will stay up a while longer. Perhaps now is the time to tackle under the bed in the guest room. That space is under utilized but I need to move the contents of boxes around to get it working fully for me.

<Sigh> I rushed out the door for the Thursday knit/crochet group, got three blocks, and realized it's Friday. DOH! I am going to study until fireworks instead.

DH and DD ate a grilled chicken dish in soy sauce with pineapple. I had sliced rotisserie cold chicken breast. (It made me sleepy.) Do any of you know if chicken has sleepy-making effects of Triptophan, like turkey does??? They're both poultry. Anyway, DH and DD ate Rice-a-Roni, potato salad, and DH and I had a Jell-0 and whipped cream salad and I also had potato salad and baked squash. We were all too full to eat dessert. We watched "The Enders Game," because grs-17 and DH watched it when he was visiting, because dgs-15.5 read all 3 Ender's books. When we gave dgs-15.5 b-day money, he took his 2 oldest brothers with him to see the Enders movie and go out to eat, too. So they had a great time with his b-day money. It's nice how he shared and spread it around, rather than only buying himself a gift.

I'm crocheting on Granny squares for the butterfly afghan for dgd. DD liked the colors, too: pink, white, raspberry, and "Plum Pudding," in Red Heart Super Saver, which is a rose-pink, etc. variegated yarn. Sure will be cute when butterflies are all made and attached.

Light showers are coming in off the ocean, might stick around this weekend, but they're only talking about light stuff breezing through, and not rain stuck heavily raining in one area.

It's 5:53 p.m., I just turned on the laptop, taking a break from the Mariners game, and I'm still not hungry. Dgs-15.5 arrives around 5 - 5:30 p.m. tomorrow.

Kathryn, Your dinner sounded good. How are your feet now?

Nancy, It's great you got the tree limb job done and it's looking better. It's always a good sense of accomplishment when we get a hard job like that done, especially outside where it shows.

Yes, Norma, I was decorated up festive for the 4th all right! Later, I changed into a comfy athletic bra and black turtleneck, with the same jeans.

Lucylee, I'm so *GLAD* the computer re-start solved your problem! Wasn't it Booksaver who told you that tip? She's a pretty bright lady. OH, You're sick on the 4th, sad, etc..... I wonder why they didn't invite you? Yes, they do have a lot on their minds. Maybe things will heal and settle down over the summer, so by Thanksgiving and Christmas everybody's back to normal again! I'm like Dee! I love Eeyore! He's cute!

Oh, my! in 8 weeks is college football again? Wow!

Helia, I'm glad you saw the parade, but sorry it seemed mediocre.

FF: feet are ok, not great but pain level is just a 1 or 2. Always sore when I first stand up. I've been off my feet most of the day so well under 5K steps today. Didn't get to bike today so will try and bike twice as much tomorrow.

Need to help dh do up the dishes now. And I'm thirsty so will have some water and hope it doesn't get me up in the night.

Kathryn, I'm glad your pain level's much lower. I hope you'll be able to go on a nice bike ride twice tomorrow, too.

The fireworks, like cannon balls along the bay, etc.. have been going off since about 6:30 p.m. It's going to be a long night. But we finally end up tuning them out, to fall asleep. My cat's asleep on my side of the bed, but I "know", in the night, since these booms go on until 3 a.m., sometimes, how she may be scared. In fact, I was looking out my kitchen window where I saw a petrified bunny, still as can be, sitting, then laying down, like a statue, so very still. I know this has to bother them, because they're outdoors without a TV and indoor house noise to muffle out the sounds.

I fixed pills, found writing titles on outline forms already to fill in. Now, I'll fill them in, write by hand, while dgs is here the 5th - 12th, when he's gone, doing firewood with his gpa and is on his laptop. When he leaves the 12th, in the a.m., I can start logging early, to get Nov. stories in by Aug. 1. It gives me 19 days, if I don't count Aug. 1, and count through only July 31. I'll be doing Christmas in July crocheting while he's here, too.

Today DOES seem like a Saturday! M - W - F, Dgs and DH and his buddy, get wood from 9 a.m. - noon or 1 p.m., so I can write by hand then. On Tuesday, DH goes to the bank. On Thursday a.m., he and Dgs go to Costco in the morning, then get back about 11 a.m., then DH turns around to attend his retirees luncheon from 12:30 or 1 p.m. until about 2:30 p.m. The retirees slowly trickle in, and sometimes they're done early, if there's only a small crowd.

Now they're going to start the fireworks show, starting with a lot of talking.
