Kittykatt, your garden trowel today inspired me to plant seeds. I had bought a bag of potting soil one day when the weather was perfect, but it got cold again before I could do anyhting. It was still cold today, and windy, but I put on my Carhartt jacket and gardening gloves and went outside anyhow. I have 12 packs with spaces for 6 seedlings each, the kind that come at nurseries for annuals. I have plenty of old seeds that need to be challenged to grow. So I fill all 72 of those little spaces, and put 2 marigold seeds into each of 36, and 3-4 bachelor's buttons into the other 36. The 2marigold were packed for 2025, and sometime before. The bachelor's buttons were about 10 year old seeds, and I put 3-4 into their spaces. I'll see if anything sprouts in the next couple weeks. I have watered the potting soil just enough that it can absorb the moisture, and need to go over it again wiht more. Then the kit has a plastic topper to keep the moisture in, and I have to find a place in my house for it to be until somehting sprouts. By then, my enclosed porch might be warm enough. It certainly wasn't today!
We have a Household Hazardous Waste collection center that has opened for the season, and I made a trip there with a few things I had gathered over the winter.
That took me next to Office Depot, in the same city, to get some office supplies for dfBS.
It was after that, that I went to mother's. where I spent 3 hours getting Christmas gift wrapping packed up, ready for MrVKM to help me get it back to the attic now that the attic is not quite so cold.
I had gathered about 20s pair of shoes that will go to Salvation Army, but haven't made the trip yet. Maybe tomorrow? They closed befreo I could drip them off today.
Another df, age 96, is now sleeping in her living room, and needs a siderail to keep from falling out of bed. We had one at mother's house, along with an overbed table, so it was good to share those items with someone who could make use of them (and get them out of mother's house).
And my final stop of the day was at dfBS to bring her the office supplies she wanted - and give ehr a pair of ballet style slippers from mother's house. She needs new shoes also, but her feet are smaller than mother's. So are my sisters' feet. And mine are larger, so might as well gift them to SA. They are all nice shoes.
I'm finally home, and tired!
Doggedly, I love that you and Germane can eat the same foods. That makes cooking easier.
Hi to everyone else, as there are just too many posts right now for me to comment on.
