Didn't realize that it's dinner time! Been sitting with my feet up and reading. Have chicken (stew/from chicken & biscuits friend made for us a couple of weeks ago) thawing in the microwave. I'm putting that over mashed potatoes that I bought today. I was rather figuring on a late dinner just in case dbil/dsil showed up late today. Not really expecting them today, but with them one never knows! She likes to 'surprise'. But I'm ready! Although I do have to have dh lift our bed so I can get out a quilt and pillows. Just can't lift that myself. The hinge is way back on the wall and it just makes it too heavy for me.

Well, Scatter, at least I went online and now have the phone number for radiology. So now maybe in the morning. Got home too late to make that appointment today.

Hello dear SHE's. I enjoyed all the posts about lists and cards etc. I never did find a system that worked for me and i remained disorganized all the time I was living on my own. Now that I am unable to do much housework, I have been a little more organized than before.

I am grieved to realize how many of you are grappling with illness and speaking of things you can no longer do. Makes me realize how blessed I am to enjoy basically good health. Because of thyroid surgery (cancerous and removed) 12 years ago I obviously have to take a thyroid supplement, plus two other meds prescribed by my doctor. And that's it. He did have me try Lyrica a while back in hopes it would alleviate my pain, which it didn't. It about ruined me and he gave up that experiment. Now I take a lot of Ibuprofen and we will just leave it at that. So I have to use a walker! So what? Anyway, I pray that all of you, especially Dee Clutter, Kathryn, Harmony will soon be able to get a handle on your ailments and return to good health.

Today I went to Bible Study this morning. Learned a lot and enjoyed the fellowship. This is an interactive study, and I am so in awe of the knowledge our leader has. This afternoon I had a hair appointment - needed a cut and she always shampoos and styles it. Came home and did my walking exercise and since then I have been parked in front of this computer. Email - found a Bible passage and printed it off to have it handy - Facebook (today is my twins' birthday.) Of course neither of them is here. One is DS/NC and the other one is DD/Houston. My "babies." When they were first able to get away from the rest of us I often said to one of the older children,"Go see what the babies are doing and make them stop."

I am off to get gas in the car, then to dinner at cracker barrel, then art class. I have got to remember to put the kitty condo and an extra carrier in my car tonight. I am getting a new foster cat to take the slot vacated by the recently deceased and greatly missed DCat18. Her name is Iris, she is 9 and shy. I get the shy ones. Apparently I have a good house for them. Sometimes I get totally feral ones, but not often. This one came from a feral colony, but is not feral herself.

Some thoughts floating thru my brain (in one ear and out the other because it is hollow :o )

Several heroes today - KIC and Harmony for plugging along while sick. Helia for exercising (and any others I missed) Harriet for elder care while she is the sandwich generation, Bernice for getting her list done.

Dee: Stress can also mess with BS. But it is probably the meds. DH's BP went wonky with new meds.

Cowinkie - ain't retirement wonderful. It has been almost 10 years for me now and I still love it. What is a color stick and where did you get it?? Cost??

OKay - Loved LO's comment on his room.

I know I'm missing the most important person - but brain is fried.

We just spent 2 hours at DD's with 5 girls coming home from school, doorbell ringing with boyfriends coming over, dogs (2 big ones) barking at said boyfriends. We didn't stay for dinner but bugged out. We will be going to Parent's Weekend at the University on Sat. DD will be marching as a parent of a member of the marching band (DGD#1).

I have only 3 more labels to embroidery under the cut outs for the picture mat and it will be done. Well I have to do the cut outs. But I expect to have it done for her by the time we go in tomorrow. Also have pedi time with DD tomorrow while DH stays at her house and washes sheets and towels for me.

Time to kick back a bit. TTFN

I was thrilled to hear LO's reaction. It was perfect.

OKay, the Bound to be Organized workshop and video in 1998 was one half 3x5s and dividers, and one half how-tos on setting up a daily planner to complement the cardfile and travel away from home. It would be set up differently from other planners so that it would rely on right-brain thinking, with PODAs, Parades of Daily Adventures. But since PODAs could be prioritized, there still must have been a kind of Franklin-Covey look to a page, I would think. I never bought that system, so I'd have to lean to someone else's understanding of whether they were able to keep it "feeling" like a "parade" instead. The cards it used were set up like the Organized From the Inside Out card system that I had by then, but more cleaning cards were added.

Harmony, I was so concerned to hear about your strength worries. (((((Harmony))))) Yes, decide in advance on a few clear sentences to tell the new doctor what you want her/him to understand.

Emptynester, good for the dogs.

Elizabeth, best wishes to Iris, boo to the ad company and hurray that you are finding continuing work with your own company. How is dd feeling?

That's the right attitude toward a walker - so what? Happy birthday day, mamapiano.

mamapiano did anyone ever suggest then that x-rays and mammography had anything to do with your thyroid? That's what the specialist talked to me about when she took the biopsy sample from a nodule and looked at the condition of the whole thyroid by ultrasound. (testing showed benign, btw) That's way I ask for a thyroid guard now for any xray or mammogram. Come to think of it, Dee, ask for the thyroid guard.

I did get in a good jog! I'm getting faster! I jogged 3 miles. I was so tired and sweaty afterward. I'd still like to shed a few pounds, which would help me go even faster. I think that will happen over time; I ate well today.

I'll check the PM soon, MT. :)

Only friends S and R came over for dinner; dfriend A was not feeling well and dfriend K is out of town.

I'm working on prep for the meeting tomorrow. I'm basically coordinating everything and running it. We only have these meetings about 4x/year. I've touched base with child care, touched base with the meals ministry, have the agenda pretty much made up, printed out the first day sign up sheet, ordered bagels and coffee to be picked up tomorrow a.m. I'm now working on the devotion, keeping it short and simple.

Harriet, at the time I had the thyroid problems I had not heard of anything like that. Whether that could have caused the cancer is moot at this point!

I have decided I need to make a list after all. Realized late this afternoon that i had forgotten to practice today! Not a good idea this late in the week. And tomorrow ds and I are heading for WalMart around 8:30 in the morning which changes my morning routine again. And a list that I can mark off would give me a feeling of having accomplished something. If I did the things on the list. I have been known to make a list and then do a whole bunch of other things that aren't on it. Does anyone wonder why I was so happy to find the SHE's when I did? Duh!

Dee - thanks for starting the appointment process, also please make an appointment in regards to your BS, yes stress can affect it but I tend to agree with you that it is probably the new med, my xDH (DS13's DDad) cannot take the generic thyroid med because it does not work for him.

Bernice I am a definite list person, I was a Todo & Tada list person way back when now I just put :D in front of my items on the todo list which in my mind makes them a tada. I also have to post my todo list in a different color than my ramblings... wonder if that isn't part of my diagnosed OCD. My DF's say that I don't have OCD I have CDO because OCD is not in alphabetical order.

Was another crazy stressful day at work... thought my DP and I were going to snap each others heads off, instead we snapped at other people and then compared notes behind closed doors. I am so lucky to have a DP (sister wives as we jokingly refer to ourselves) that I am so in sync with. Going in for 4 hrs tomorrow afternoon, which will give me time to write my essay for school.

Anybody out there like to read and edit College essay papers please PM me I need all the help I can get.
