Back from my meeting.

From a resource centre point of view it was a success because I got rid of some more books, someone took a library book out (I had brought a selection) and someone else brought back a half dozen missing books.

From a personal point of view, it was a delightful dinner chatting with people and catching up with some (I had preached at that church in summer.) Another local preacher told me she had submitted my name to her church to replace her in February (dh isn't excited about that because that's the backup cruise holiday dates). But I also have to attend a sexual harassment sensitivity workship. So that's a day out of my life. You should have heard the ministers grumbling about it - none of them want to do it and it is mandatory for them as well as for me. Our next meeting is in Quebec (about an hour's drive from here) and in the winter such a long drive can be made much, much, longer. I hope I'm well enough to attend.

I need to get to bed now because I have an early start in the morning. Dh has to go into the city for a doctor's appointment so I'll have him drop me at Presbytery and I'll do the volunteering I missed today.

Never heard from the nurse.

I am beginning to think that I passed a kidney stone. I have had them a few years ago. We will see what the tests show in the morning. Very lucky for me that I have an appointment. They can't ignore me then.

blessed, I enjoyed the link. It did get me sidetracked, too, but then ellyphant's link in The Creative Home did the same thing to me, so I think it's ME.

and that is one dangerous place! I blame Twins Mom!

I was finally able to talk to dstepson tonight and tell him happy birthday and let him know we are thinking of him. He sounds tired. The truth is I want to ask him so many questions and would love to have him as "a third head" as HRH says, with all these repair decisions, but I didn't say a word about it. He didn't choose to volunteer any info about his day except to say it's been hard. This was 7:00 p.m. and he was headed to bed, so I know he's had about all he can take.

Nancy, I did get photos of Penny and Dottie and hope to get them posted soon. I just get interrupted so often lately I find myself accomplishing things only in bits.

I'm glad you've got an appt.! Will pray for you to get better soon!

Just a quick hello and I'll turn off the computer for the night. DH is watching Ken Burns' baseball documentary. I have dark clothes drying in Ernie. Got the drying-flat sweater set de-wrinkled, of a few wrinkles and back into my closet. DH took the wooden clothes drying rack back out to the garage, so the entry hall leading into the great room looks bare/tidy again.

Might have a bit of rain in the a.m. and then it'll clear off. This later afternoon we had low-hanging clouds or fog or both. It's warmer than it was a few days/nights ago, because of rain.

I have a DFriend going to Joanne's for a big yarn-buying day. I have lots of yarn, so won't need to go and can save the money. I'm trying to crochet up my stash, slowly over the next year. Then bins will be empty and back out in the garage.

I cannot believe tomorrow's Wed. already, but I think with Veteran's Day, it's made the week shorter so it seems like it's trekking by faster.

Yes, it's normal for the bucks and deer to come up this close to the house. Sometimes they walk on our patio and last summer we had a twin fawn start walking up our patio landing steps!

There's a coyote, which comes up about 15 feet from the patio, too.

Sometimes you can see raccoon, a weasel, and a badger, too. We have woods all around us and other neighbors own woods all around them, too. We have 2 acres, about, cleared out for the house though. I think one of my most memorable Easter mornings, was while I was looking out of my kitchen window, there was a herd of deer bedded down in back of the drain field just in front of the woods, way in back of our house. There was a 4-point buck and the sun was shining on him. He was magnificent and so beautiful. It was like they all were talking a rest there on Easter morning in reverence. It was so special to see them that Sunday.

I love wildlife and things of nature.

But I HATE spiders!!!

Well, trying to cuop again but waaay behind...

My ironing lady had knee surgery so I'm trying to catch up on ironing, too! And I got all dh's shirts done, but that's all. Still have an unbelievable stack of jeans & khakis to go. But they may not go tonight; that's for certain!

I also talked to dparents on phone.
DS & dgs went to Captain D's with us for supper.
I've washed two loads of clothes.

(((Lilac))) It's just one thing after another, isn't it? Sending lots of wishes for speedy relief for dgd!!!

(((Harriet))) re: holiday scheduling headaches. I don't blame you for trying to postpone everyone for Christmas. Much better to have all family together, regardless of what day it is -- if everyone else can manage that. Sometimes, it's just impossible to have 100% attendance, no matter when you schedule something.
I'm sooo sooo thankful that so far, our holidays seem to mesh pretty well w/ddil's family. They will spend Thanksgiving with them, but that is definitely not a big deal to either dh or myself. Now... if ds had to miss THE ball game the Saturday AFTER Tgiving... yes... that would be a big deal for dh. (Which would in turn, become a big deal to me. * sigh * )But so far, it seems to be a big deal to ds, too, and he is making a 12-hour round-trip drive in order to go to the game.

Ivy, your description of the deer and the birds just made me picture you living in a Disney movie!

BTW -- I saw three deer today, myself.
But they didn't come close enough to listen to me sing.
