((((Norma)))) You and Mr Guy are sweet people. The girl and her little ones are blessed to have you in their life in any capacity.
LO home from school. I had intended to go visit DParents after school, however LO attitude was horrible so we came home. Hopefully he will be a quick learner that bad attitudes have consequences.
Spaghetti and meat sauce for supper. Prep is done.

Peeking in before dinner without cuop. My dfriend had to postpone her visit here. She received some unexpected news at a routine appointment for an existing medical condition & her dr sent her for some tests this week. We are hoping to reschedule for early next month.
I've received so many catalogs this year! Dh, too. They're fun to browse through when I have the time, but I've also opted out of several. I order something maybe once every year or two but I'm sure that immediately puts me on a list because I end up with ones in my mailbox from companies I've never ordered from. I've gotten some interesting stocking gifts from them over the years.
Christmas decorations are all up

. Tree is up & has lights & garland on it but no ornamnents yet. Hopefully we'll do that tonight. I've done a lot of Christmas shopping & will start thinking about menus & writing grocery lists later this week. I've learned over many years that getting as much Christmas prep done as possible before Dec 1st really keeps my stress level down (& that's a good thing

).
Waving ~~~~~ to everyone; hope you are having a wonderful day!

Good Afternoon, Villagers!
I decided to turn off the laptop, to "forget" about my very disturbing morning email, and to focus on other things.
So this is my Ta Da:
- I prayed and wrote in my journal a lot.
- I helped DH put away Costco things. ♥
- I wrote a DF a letter, which I put into her pkg.
- I wrote another DF and her DH a card/note, put them into their pkg. and DH is mailing them now.
- I helped DH tape the pkgs. up.
- I got out plates and napkins for lunch. (Rotisserie chicken.) Yummy!
- I put out hot spots.
- I put a receipt for printing paper in my office for record-keeping.
- I opened up and put the printer paper in on the main office shelf.
- I tidied a few things on that shelf at the same time.
- I rested for a little bit, but didn't sleep.
- I took the fluorescent bulb that had burnt out, from DH, who was on the ladder holding the new bulb to put it in, in the utility room.
- I put the brown paper and tape away.
- I filled and am running the DW.
- I emailed my 2 DF's to let them know the pkg.'s were shipped today.
- I looked through some insurance information, which was "Greek" to DH. It was a separate sheets of paper in with each dr. visit, etc.. they covered for me this year. The multitude of papers threw DH, but I went through them and explained what they covered on my oral surgery and biopsy and other things.
Waving to Blessed, Norma, Dove, Kathryn, Booksaver, OKay and dfriend, Lila and your dgd16's car, Helia, Harriet, Lucy, MT, Mystery, Elly, Harmony, Nancy, Twins' Mom, and Scattered.
I hope you're having a nice day today
and it is nice that Tuesday is a New Day!

Peeking in....
Yes I have another headache, but also a dr's appt next Tue. She is a headache specialist and I see a MRI in my future. I really don't care if they chop my head off. I am so over fighting these headaches.
Excuse me cause at this moment I can't remember who said what, but as a sped teacher there may be reasons why dd 16 seems unmotivated. I was the same way at that age. I was called lazy and not working to "my potential" always hated that phrase.
Three things effected my school progress. I am add, was never taught or shown how to study and had a lousy home life. Any one of them could accept for my less than stellar grades.
However these threes things were also what made me so successful as a teacher. Most kids are not taught how to study or stay organized with their school work. It's like cleaning a house..it is assumed we know how. Understanding this, I not only taught core subjects, I taught my kids how to succeed in class. I even developed a separate grade for theses skills.
As for meds and add, I have seen first hand just how much they can help kids. My kids had been told most of their school and home lives they were lazy. I never said that to them. They really don't want to disappoint their parents. For some kids proper meds can help kids stay focused. It helps them be laws impulsive which means they don't get in as much trouble. Happier kids usually translate into better grades.
Dd16's counselor should be able to suggest where to go for help. Usually your family dr can help you as well. Most Family drs are used to doing this. You are already ahead od the game because your dd teachers are answering standardize forms which help to point out your dd problems in their classrooms. The parents are asked to do a same type survey as well. Your dr will ask to see these surveys as well and bases on the information should be able to guide you.
If you have more questions you can pm me. Right now I am having a diificult time finding the right vocabulary words ... Hope this makes some sort of sense. Writing is hard when I have a migraine, but I really feel for your dd16.

((Cowinkie)) I hope you can find an answer for this. It has been going on way too long. I wish someone could figure out that there is a trigger food, or something. Some way to just avoid one or two things and avoid the headaches.
Ivy, rarely (I admit) a mistake can happen in which a person will respond to the wrong email. Is it possible your friend sent to you, but was actually intending to respond to some other email she received recently? I'm sorry you had this experience.

Dinner was a bit of a fizzle. It was late because I had to rest (I used the recliner, cuddled up under a comforter with a heat bag, closed my eyes and listened to two episodes of West Wing dh was watching) and then dh and I had to prepare 20 meals of meat for the freezer. That done, dh cooked up a meat and potatoes stir fry which ds was really looking forward to.
Unfortunately, he had about 1/2 cup of it, paused and excused himself to the bathroom with predictable results. He's tucked into bed for the night now.
I have a load of his laundry in the washer and now will start cleaning up the kitchen.
Dfs messaged me before supper that he's alive. Sort of. Is hardly eating anything and worried about it. I told him that his body was fighting the virus hard and didn't have any energy left for digesting so that's why he had no appetite. He's drinking lots of fluids, including powerade and eating crackers. I told him I lasted on that (plus the odd, thin sliced apple and a bit of apple sauce) for almost a week and only lost a few pounds so he shouldn't worry for now.

Thanks Harriet...I've had migraine for years. As bad as these migraines are they are nothing compared to what I used to have 15 yrs ago. They left me on the bathroom floor for 12+hours at a time. I have charted many things...types of Food, drinks, eventsthat would cause stress, weather like barometric pressure, tempatures outside, time of year, brightness of sunlight, days between headaches, you name it but there are no patterns to be found. However I do know I get in headache cycles where I have one nearly ever day and then bamm they quite for months at a time.
Been to many drs...best was at mayo in mobile...and all I'm told is there is no cause just I get them. Meds that help either are not covered by insurance and now cost $60 a pill...or are narcotic. Regular dra are now shy about prescribing them even though certain narcotics will break the cycle.... I understand why regular drs are reluctant to prescibe them but it's so discouraging to know that just one pill will make my headache disappear. That's the reason I've decided to go to a specialist. I don't expect to be cured but at least I won't feel like an addict looking for pills. These drs know what I am experiencing and hopefully will be able to help.

(Cowinkie) have you ever tried taking magnesium? I frequent a health forum and that has been mentioned a lot. I do know from reading there, too much magnesium can give you diarrhea (think milk of magnesia).
On the subject of helping needy people, that is always a matter of knowing the person I guess. Sometimes we are asked to provide a meal for someone...and I know they really could have done something different. One friend told me recently how her other friend was coming to visit her...and this person had been receiving meals, which I didn't sign up for because I knew she was out and about. In the end, I suppose it is about the heart of the giver. If the gift goes to someone who doesn't really deserve it, the giver is still blessed for her action.
We have a homeless man who sits at the entrance to a hamburger place, and I've heard if we offer him food, he says he doesn't eat that stuff and just wants money.
Dr. visit was nice. I really really like this doctor. She is like talking with a very knowledgeable girlfriend. I don't like the way this place is run as I end up feeling like a cow in a chute, but I will stay there because of this dr. This time my prescription was called in to pharmacy immediately. Course the ins. co. wouldn't okay it because my other wasn't up yet...but it is there when I need it. No changes. I am in the middle of the range, low normal in my numbers and both dr. and I are happy about that.
Got a little shopping done on the way home. Good day all around.
