New Day Tuesday

Good Day Ladies,

Thanks for the start Lisa.

ummm
I think I need a start over.
sheets changed yesterday are washed and away today
dog is awaiting post sundown activity.
I'll bring in Kitchen towels then its on to bin day and dog walking.

I need focus tonight on bedtime. I need to start hours earlier by not getting hooked on any thought provoking tv. This means if politians are doing a mayhem impersonation they get turned off quickly. And most tragic ... committal hearing re murdered boy ... maybe I don't watch news either to miss that. Sending a prayer i/l for the local family and priest who is in contact with family ....
Maybe all of the above was part of my up too late last night and slack day today.
Just begin.

My strength is apparent at my work and in my Navy career, I am a great educator.

Thanks for starting us off Lisa

Lynlee - Thanks for the compliment.

Does anybody have any good uses for a ton of orphaned socks? I matched socks last night and have a ton of orphaned socks mainly due to the fact that I throw holey unmatched socks away.

Lisa, I'll have to share that great quote with HRH. He really likes Eleanor Roosevelt. I completely missed last evening that you are going to be a grandmother! Congratulations. Also, your healthy habits must be doing you proud if you now need to resize a ring. Are you still doing bootcamp-style fitness progams?

My new strength and thought is getting back to very healthy habits with renewed commitment.
Record keeping goes along with that for me, it seems. I do better record keeping in general when I'm keeping good health and fitness records.

Lynlee, I know you are already aware that a quiet time before bed is good for you, but I've recently read more that you'll be interested in. Light with blue tones hampers sleep. This includes sunshine, but also many artificial light except specifically yellow-toned lighting, definitely including media screens. Also looking at media screens close to bedtime. This is why I use a bug-light bulb as dd14's nightlight. It's not perfect, but some of the blue is blocked. There are "blue blocking" bulbs specifically made to block blue. Here's an article from Harvard Medical School a few months old.

Ivy, Houseworks was written by CEO, about whom you can read in Kathryn's post, Welcome to our new (and final!) SHE Home!, in our News and Announcements forum. Her new book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Getting Organized Fast-Track, has just been released.

TaDa from yesterday - My ring situation MAY be solved. I called the saleswoman (and her supervisor) and they spent a while trying to right this situation, agreeing with me that expecting a customer to wait 14 weeks for a ring wasn't making sense. An existing, correct-size ring is already on its way to me because I pointed out that surely in some Ma cy's jewelry case somewhere there were different sizes. Sure enough, some sleuthing on their part turned one up and they handled the exchange over the phone. I realize this is not the exact ring, and the stones might not be as clear or something, so we may not be satisfied, but the only known difference is the size so there's a good chance.

Feel better, Cowinkie!

Dawn is breaking. The school run is complete. My ddad is stirring. Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I may be taking my ddad for bloodwork today if the dr's office and HRH can align their schedules.
If you don't believe in miracles, you're not being realistic.

Happy NEW day!

I can only tell you we pack all those 'orphans' in a bag & take them to VOA or something like it & they use them for rags or something.

Hope ds is getting better, Kathryn! Worrisome :?

Looked to no avail last night for dd/dsil's insurance papers/certificate. She's sure she hasn't seen these papers in at least 7-8 years. All her other insurance papers are organized and together. Hopefully the bank will be able to give her some info of where that withdrawal is generated each month. She'll get it -she's good at this sort of thing.

DD ordered a flat screen TV last night for dh (from me). Have to pick it up this week -some time when dh won't be along. Hmmmm.....That could be tricky.

On our way to take gd to school. DH is going over to help his DB clean metal and I have a meeting at church. BBL
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Good morning!

Thank you for the positive thoughtful opening, Lisa. Congratulations on your future dgbaby! How exciting!

WTG on your awesome work evaluations, scattered!

((Lynlee)) Hope you can keep your mind on healthy helpful thoughts and sleep well tonight.

You have a lot of info to share so early in the a.m. Harriet. :) I'm with you, needing to get back to healthy habits, and good record keeping is a a great tool for me too.

Hope the meeting at church is good, Dee.

My new strength today is staying focused and fighting igads. It seems like I do have all day, but I really don't.

I did order a small cmas present for dh yesterday. :) I do like this season of buying gifts for other people.

I did get the groc. shopping done last night, but late, after I picked up dd14 from her rehearsal. I spent too long last night looking for a recipe for pork and potatoes, preferably cheesy ones, to do in the crockpot - that did NOT used canned soup. Nothing against canned soup, I just prefer not to use it in my recipes. . .. .I was floored by how many recipes use canned soup, esp. crm. of chicken/celery. I finally found a recipe for a casserole to do in the oven, which I'll make instead -- tomorrow night. I could just make it up, but I prefer to use a recipe as a starting place, and the recipe I did find is a bit loose, so I'll be making it up a bit anyway. At the groc. store, I seemed to purchase more than usual, but I am doing some hosting this week, book club tonight and cooking for 8? on Thursday. I don't think we're hosting small group Saturday since we hosted the last time, but I don't know for sure yet.

First goal: a.m. routine + devo. time done by 9:30, maybe a bit ambitious, but I think I can do it.

So far, I have given the dog water, gone through some of yesterday's mail, said good bye to the girls, made my first mug of tea, checked email.

just checking in - will likely miss the midnight ready for bed thing.
dishes are washed
eyes are sleepy.

Harriet - I once had an 8.30 curfew on the computer. Maybe reinstating that would help.
Yay for possible ring solution.

Lisa - Best wishes to DS and GF. May all work out well for them

Goodnight all
Just begin.

I wrote this ages ago - on my way out the door now. Ds is still feeling totally wiped and is warm. He's had a glass of juice and his trying to sleep again now.

I need to get moving.

I've booked a doctor's appointment for Thursday morning. I can take ds to the blood lab after if it is called for. And I confirmed they have the ER report so his family doctor will be aware of what is going on.

It is hard to think about strengths although I guess my heart and caring for others is one of them. I'm an exceptional mother and now that I don't have kids to mother at home, I'm branching out to care for a select few others. (That's part of why I'm not going for ordination, I want to control the number of people I need to care for!)

Must poof now, s2s and eat breakfast - all in the next 45 minutes.

Oh, and I must wake ds in there and see how he's doing before I leave the house.
