Okay, you read my mind. I too miss lucylee.
It feels good to be caught up on village happenings. Since my schedule has been so haphazard the last couple of weeks I don't really have a set time to come here so often don't get here at all. I've been thinking about how to solve that.
(((Dee & Mr Dee))), I was so sorry to read that Mr Dee needs surgery. Have already started praying for his procedure & recovery.
(I know this isn't the J & C thread, but also praying for safe travel & return home for Kathyrn & Lilac's dhusbands.)
(((Elizabeth))), I'm so sorry you had such an awful week. I actually said, "Nooooo!" out loud when I read that your ((dd))broke her leg. I hope it heals quickly & without any pain for her. ((More hugs)) as you deal with emotions that come up after hearing about exhusbands news.
Helia, your posts about Maia have me reminiscing about our ddogs puppy days
. I usually was the one to take her out first thing in the AM, & remember putting out shorts & a shirt the night before so I could dress as quickly as possible to get her out the door. (I remember thinking this through long before we got her; I didn't want to housebreak a puppy in cold weather because of the extra time it would take to put on boots & a coat umpteen times a day 
!) We have a few steps leading out from the side door & I had carrying duty, too. Thank goodness her legs & confidence with stairs grew before she got too heavy to lift . She overturned several bowls of water, too 
. I took her to a puppy kindergarten class where she learned basic manners like no teething on people, no jumping up on people, walking on a loose leash, sit, etc. It was held indoors & the last 15 minutes of each class were my favorite part of it -- the pups were unleashed to run & play & socialize with each other & the other owners. So fun to watch
! I took her to regular obedience class at 6 months & the time invested was well worth it as she is well behaved inside & out. Well, mostly out. She obviously believes deer in the backyard are just begging to be chased to the property line ...My brother's church has no hymnals & they have a really large screen up front (without music notes) to read the words of the songs. I prefer our church with hymnals in the pews for a couple of reasons. I often hear some of the old, familiar hymns mixed in with the newer & I love the organ accompaniment so much. But especially I love how my dh always reaches for the hymnal to find the page, & how we each hold a side & lean in close against each other as we sing. For newer songs not in the hymnal, a copy of the words & music are inserted into the bulletin on a separate page. It is easier for me to sing a song I don't know when there are notes to follow.
I had an idea to help with the basement & laundry cleanout we've been procrastinating on: I'm going to box & label everything we want to keep. Then we can deal with what is left --sell, donate, dump. This way the day before reno begins we can just move the "Save" boxes to another location & unpack them when the work is done.
I hope Lucylee enjoyed her last week of school...
