Howdy! Happy Finish the Week Friday! I'm trying to finish it on the right foot, then will do a few things on Saturday, which I didn't do today, because I got too tired & sore. :o

Second & last Ta Dah of today:

X Put the dried clean bathroom rugs back into the 2 bathrooms
X Scrubbed 3 toilets (we have 1 main/guest bathroom, 1 master bathroom, 1 tiny powder room)
X Put pray vinegar-water bottle away.
X Listened to music, elevated my feet, & wrote in my journal some more. :)
X Dusted ALL rooms AND the entry hall
X Dust mopped ALL rooms with fir floors
X Washed, dried, & put away an afghan
X Washed, dried, & (with DH's help) put away & hung towels
X Rearranged my end table top stuff, so it looks more organized
X Labeled on my "AEIOUY" journal, several pages ahead into June. (It ends on Sept. 3.)
X Used my lumbar vibrating pillow because of my aching back! :!: :(
X Tidied up my small office.
X Sorted, purged, & read my mail.
X Had lunch & a snack.
X Napped for 1 hour, until the neighbor in back, over on his acreage started drilling a WELL! :!: (I wanted to sleep longer!)
X Fixed coffee cup #2, enjoyed it so much. :P
X Wrote a list of info to tell a new pal who had written me, so she'll know more about me.

I have make-up on, so after dinner, I'll take it off, then shower & get into something comfy. My only complaint about today is: Getting sore & getting very BAGGY jeans! :!:

DH worked in the woods, splitting with a hydraulic splitter at his buddy's house, & stacked firewood there, for FOUR HOURS!!! So tomorrow, he'll vacuum the dining room and GR8 room area rugs. I'll do sinks & counters, in bathrooms, & will clean kitchen countertops. They just need to be Windexed. They're already decluttered & organized. Oh, & we need to empty the DW. I "might" wash dark laundry, but it depends upon how much more we get between now & tomorrow.

I know I'll sleep well tonight! :!: ALL I COULD DREAM ABOUT LAST NIGHT WAS OUR SEPTIC SYSTEM BEING RE-DONE!!!!! Believe me, it was like a "nightmare". I don't know if I'm THAT wrapped up in Kathyrn's Septic system being re-done, to dream about it happening to US, TOO, or what! :!: :!: :!: :!: It was a "mess", on pun intended, but it had seeped up from the septics AND drainfield. It was just terrible. Yes, then I got up to use the bathroom. ;)

Have a GR8 night, Everybody! :D Just a quick C. I. because can't CUOP properly right now. Just too tired. :o

D. has just left. We had coffee and a nice conversation. She told DH many things his DDad had told her about how proud he was. If only he'd had the ability to tell DH those things himself. Some people just can't express those things. DH's whole family is pretty bad at expressing personal stuff.

I went through the refrigerator and deboned the chicken and put another couple leftovers in smaller containers. Someone had come by and gave us meatballs in bbq sauce and something she called taco soup (which was like my chilli with corn). So I got those dishes ready to give back. Wasn't that nice? A couple of the gals from my committee are coming to the service tomorrow even though they did not know DFiL. Really surprised me quite a bit.

I went outside with DH and helped him pull weeds for a while.

I'm going off to soak my feet and do a pedicure.

LOL Harriet, I've seen those wooden chickens in the hoarder shows too! Do remember you can set up two 2-drawer file cabinets and put a desk top over them and make a fine desk. DH did that here, back in the office he used 2 file cabinets and made a nice top out of plywood, stained and polyurethaned to match the rest of the furniture, and that is his desk...which he piles stuff on and doesn't use.

Home from a successful shopping effort for DGD2 upcoming birthday. It made me smile as I observed the 3 guys giving serious thought as they went through all the Hello Kitty (HK) clothes to select outfits that was "just right" for her. I think they did a great job. I was unobtrusive taking pictures of the whole process. We also made selections from the HK purses, HK pillows, HK jewelry, HK sun glasses and HK backpacks. DGS16 was protesting by the time we reached the birthday card section and insisted we get her something other than HK. :D

We ate dinner in town so there is minimum effort needed in the kitchen tonight. LO is in the bathtub and will be going to bed soon. He is one tired fella

Ivy: so sorry I gave you nightmares. My senior friend called and she worried about septic systems last night too! (In her case, the apartment building she lives in also needs a new one and today she can smell the lye or whatever they put down over the seeping.)

Finished the sermon and have figured out hymns for the third service (first and second are identical) so now I just have to shorten the sermon a bit and write the prayers of the people (same for all three services.)

Kathryn, That's okay, about my dream about my septic tank seeping up through the ground from the 3 tanks, up through to & including our drain field in back. I needed to get up to take a pill for acid anyway, so got my day started earlier, is all. But I loved it, with kitty cat in my lap, watching birds & bunnies, QT, etc... If it wasn't for the dream waking me, I'd have missed out on a lovely morning.

It's nice to hear how prepared you are for Sunday. What church are you a minister or pastor of? Is it Anglican or Presbyterian? :?:

OKay, It's great you had a good shopping trip for DGD2. I'm glad you smiled, too. Hello Kitty is so adorable. Oh, she'll be all set. Oh, that's just too funny about DGS16 protesting about the HK card, too!

Harmony, I know it's sad your D. didn't find out these things, of how proud his Ddad was of him, while he was living, directly from his Dad, but it's hard for some men to open up about such things. It's sad. :(

Waving hello to everyone this fine Friday evening. Got to help with our dinner now. :) :) Have a good night & a wonderful weekend, too. Hope everybody's weather isn't too bad nor throwing any curve balls.

Ivy: I'm a lay worship leader with the United Church of Canada (a union of Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregationalist.) Not a minister (minister's get really picky about that) but a supply preacher. As I put it, I get to do the fun stuff (studying the text and discerning God's message for me to preach) without having to do the heavy lifting a minister does (pastoral care and all the meetings and running of a church.) I have done a fair bit of the running of the church for the past year, but just because we didn't have a minister of our own. That changes July 1, but our new minister is also preaching for me (but I'll write the liturgy) on our anniversary Sunday in June and filling in as pulpit supply a few weeks after that.

Prayers still need to be written and I need to read over the text I'll be reading to the kids to figure out what to highlight to them, but aside from that I'm done.

Dd's god-parents called and we'll meet them for lunch tomorrow. They live 4 hours away but we often meet up in the town 2 hours from us. So I'm excited (and pleased I'm this ready that I can walk away from the house for 6 hours tomorrow.)

I will take my work with me in the car because I have three more services to write in this next week. I need to get ahead of the curve. Luckily it is only services, not sermons. For the 25th I can edit down a sermon from 2011, for June 8 I just have to write the liturgy and for June 22 I can either reuse existing work (if I have it) or take a reading off the internet since it is for the retirement home and if I don't have time to write, I guilt free grab from another source since I get paid a whole $25. They aren't paying me for my message, they are paying me to run a service of some sort.

Edited to add: I just went to pull up the service I intend to edit for next week and discovered I had done a service 3 years ago this weekend for a different church so could have reused that entirely. Sigh. That will teach me not to take time to look in my files! Oh well, glad I did the work. And I did lift the prayers completely so now both services are finished and printed off. I'll still bring my work with me but it will be working ahead not finishing off what I need for this weekend. Yay!

Off to bed now.

I won't really finish the week until tomorrow, when the festival is over, and I'll be glad when it is. I just am not good at all this outdoor time. My throat is sooo itchy and my head feels sooo stuffy and I really just want to sleep and sleep and sleep. Or eat and eat and eat. I guess sleep would be better for me.
DGS had a much better day, however, and his mom was (reluctantly) there to help. The weather was better, and all in all, it was an easier day.

WTG w/getting so much sermon prep out of the way, Kathryn!

Sweet boys, shopping for their little sister, OKay...

(((Mr. Harmony))) My ddad was like that too, in a lot of ways. As y'all all know, I spent sooo much time worrying about making him mad or something. Then after he passed away, one of his dfriends said to me, "He sure was proud of YOU. Every time we were on a job, if someone said they went to school at ____, he'd jump in and say, 'My daughter teaches there; do you know Mrs. Lucylee?'" :) But... as GWTW says... "Whom Mammy loved, she chastised, and as her love for Scarlett was enormous, the chastening was unending." (That's not an exact quote, but dmom says it describes ddad and my relationship exactly.)

So glad Mr. Harmony got good report on the hip!

(((Macs))) Agreeing w/Harriet that healing might be causing itching.

Ooohhh... getting antsy watching the days w/Harriet, waiting for the newest baby to arrive!

I'm missing a lot in my replies tonight -- y'all forgive me! Waving to ALL!!!

Kathryn, Your work sounds interesting, worthwhile, yet challenging at times, too. Thanks for filling me in, too. :)

It's nice to "see" you, Lucylee. Hope your head gets less stuffy. I hope you'll get a good sleep tonight, too.

We're watching an aerial documentary on Utah, on the Smithsonian Channel. My dsis lives in Ivins, UT, near St. George. I'd better rush back to see if they show her area.
