Re: Finish the Week Friday
Busy day here - I can't lollygag! Up since 6 and have pulled together info for the noon meeting today. I'll go straight from there to body work. This morning I have to get things ready for dcleaning lady and get to dmom's with meals, refill her meds, etc.
I need to leave with ds soon to get him to work. He and dh looked at a couple of cars last night but he wasn't excited about them. I'm getting tired of the driving routine twice a day for him. (I guess I wouldn't mind it so much if he talked to me, or I didn't feel jerked around about it - yesterday I was running errands and he texted me to see if I could be there at 4 - this was at 25 minutes until 4. I told him I was aiming for 4:15 and that was as soon as I could get there.)

Re: Finish the Week Friday
Good Morning!
Today is the last Friday of LO school year. Only 4 more school days. I asked LO what he would like to do this summer and he said "learn to do a cartwheel".
That makes me happy that he is focusing on just being a kid.
A couple weeks ago "The Pie Guy" (aka Judge) asked LO to ride a float with him in Armed Forces Day parade tomorrow. DH told the judge that LO would be there. When DH told me about it, I didn't put it on the calendar. I just realized LO has a double header ball game the same time as the parade. Grrrr..... I am sooooo very thankful LO is out of the court system and we don't have to weigh ticking off a Judge .vs. letting team mates down by not showing up for ball game.
Alarm just went off. Time to get LO up and start his day. **POOF**

Re: Finish the Week Friday
Good morning Twins! I do have some things I need to do to finish up this week. Now that a room is set for our houseguest, I need to tackle the play room, which is quite the mess. And now ds is sleeping there and some of his stuff is being stored there for the time being. We need the room for the little ones of small group tomorrow night, and I will be out at the annual city wide high school bands outdoor performance from 1:45 ~ 4:00 so I won't have much time to clean tomorrow. I'm required to do some volunteer work there too - there are all sorts of games and food tents. Small group will be at our house at 5 pm, and the rest of the house will also need to be cleaned.
I have driven the younger girls to school since today is Senior Skip day, which means dd18 was unavailable to take them, and I'm now drinking my tea. I'm going to get a start on my a.m. routine before heading out the door in 1:05 for WW (I bet my weight is up - again; this is getting discouraging.. . I WILL be overweight if this continues) and the bank and Target. I also need to go to the groc. store. I'll work on either yard clean up - or laundry, or perhaps both. Exercise would be good too.
I haven't heard from Taiwanese guy, so I think I'll email him to see if I'm tutoring this afternoon or not.
I think dd18's small group will be here 3:45 - 6:00. I'll either be tutoring or exercising during most of that time.

Re: Finish the Week Friday
The only thing finished around here is me. But I don't suppose that is what is meant!
I'm up.
I ordered the new waterbed mattress yesterday and then took everything off our bed today, noting the pattern in the vinyl is exactly the same as the one I ordered so I appear to have bought the right thing. I hope the order goes fine because the company did not use encrypted transmission for my credit card (I didn't notice) and then the software failed and I got a browser error message. On the other hand, I've also received an email saying it is coming. There is no phone number on the website or in the email confirmation so now I wait (this company ships by parcel post so it will be 2 weeks or more before I'll know there is a problem.)
I've washed the waterbed mattress and taken off all the winter bedding. Last night I slept with just my duvet cover and a flannel blanket (no duvet) and slept much better than recently. So I'm hoping that summer weight bedding will improve my sleep.
Today I need to finish my services for Sunday. That's top priority.
Second priority is to do Friday chores (bedroom level focus - dust/vacuum, clean bathrooms, change linens) and
Third priority is to erase our footprints around the rest of the house - it has slipped well away from being 'show' ready.

Re: Finish the Week Friday
I'm 'done' too, Kathryn.
It has been raining steady & heavy at times since last night. We've had 1 1/2" so far and it sure doesn't show signs of quitting. We're under both a flood watch and warning. Hate to think what the people are facing down Penn Yan way. They spent yesterday trying to clear debris & mud in preparation for this rain storm. Obviously there's no school down there -roads are too washed out and/or dangerous.
Don't think there'll be too many people here this weekend. High is forecast for 57. From AC back to furnace.
DD's teacher friend (somehow) is going to keep gd15 during the week and dd/dsil will have her on the weekends while they wait for a group home opening. Sure better than having to leave her home by herself. Not sure how that's all working since this gal teaches at the same school as dd.
Never ceases to amaze me how easily & quickly that can happen. Seems like 1 minute our RV is company ready & then I turn around and exclaim, "What happened?"it has slipped well away from being 'show' ready.

Re: Finish the Week Friday
Dh came home from 'mock accident' for the high school. With all the rain they were doing an indoor program so dh came home. He was very pleased to see that evidently all their hard work last summer paid off. While he was recovering from the aortic valve replacement we had pumps going out here 24/7. Saw no standing water today. Yay! So it's draining correctly. Our yard (and some others) called for boots a good share of the time.
Think the rain has let up a little. Should get on the weather bug and see how our neighbors to the east are faring,
Need to go turn on the water heater -a simple touching a switch- so I can get the dishes done. There's not many but it doesn't take many to turn the kitchen into a war zone.

Re: Finish the Week Friday
Hate when I forget something like that, Okay. I do like the calendar that's on the desktop for my Windows 8. It will remind me ahead of time what's coming up by just glancing at that little square of my calendar. BUT the trick is to be sure I put something on the calendar. Try to remind myself that nothing is too trivial if it's forgotten. Last night, at dinner, we ran into some old friends who invited us to a picnic May 25th. I tried hard to remember it until I got home. At least it's on the calendar whether or not we decide to go. Depends on what our family is doing that weekend. That is Memorial Day weekend right?I didn't put it on the calendar.

Too much rain or too little rain. Neither is good.
One of the local lakes that provides water to large town is now below 40% full. Dropping below 40% triggers Stage 4 water restriction for that town. Absolutely no exterior watering.....all public & private swimming pools have to close.....no watering yard, trees and gardens which mean most will die.....the only vehicles allow to be washed are ones used for food and/or garbage hauling. There is daily news about legal (and some illegal) squabbles for water. The month of May is typically our best chance to receive rain. COME ON RAIN!!!
