Oh, & Harriet, I'll have my dh audition for HRH's action movie

I am off to my art class. Last time I was the only one there. DD is with XDH at an amusement park. My friends from lunch are going too. (It is a company function). Since I get home late tonight, nothing will be done on the house which needs clean up after DD's visit. I also will not be able to let Lara out of the sewing room tonight. Will do that tomorrow night. I have someone coming in Saturday to install a thermostat. Then lunch with at least one friend. Then I don't know what.

Doggie owner called was not happy at all I knew it was coming sigh
h. said I did not have to do that for her again EVER yea! I'm grateful he's backing me up.
They had a not fun trip in heat their dd had no a/c in her place. ack

H. is home and had a better day than yesterday so that was good.
Dgd "helped" w/ some watering in the back yard.

Well, I'm changing my pick from Kristen Bell (too young) to Tyne Daly. I've always liked her. I don't think I could shoot at people like she did in Cagney & lacey, but my goodness she was loyal (remember Harvey, her husb.?) and I liked her role in Judging Amy too, loyal salt of the earth hard worker. Not glamorous, but I'm not impressed with glamour in Hollywood.

I like Sada Thompson (sp?) remember, the mother in Family? and I love love Judi Dench too. There's some more to pick from.

And what noone picked Edith Bunker or Marge Simpson? At least Edith wore an apron..

You wouldn't believe how much mental energy this whole thing took from me. I've not thought about anything else. Lucy, I did say Olivia but I meant Vivian Lee, however, I see you as a much less selfish person..

Anyway, evening chores took 1 1/2 hours and that was without watering our water-soaked lawn & gardens. I had extra dishes, cleaned out refrigerator to get big watermelon in (DH was out shopping...we now have whole pantry shelf of baked beans that were on sale and there was no room for the watermelon until I redid the refrig). And that's it for tonight. I'm going back to my sewing.

It seems you all had fun today while I was driving along! I've got a big smile on my face after getting through all the posts!

Drive went flawlessly. Just like last year, dh turned onto the highway as we left our neighbourhood and said, "Something's wrong!" but it was just the sluggish acceleration from the weight of the fully loaded car.

Packing the car went really well. Everything but the cooler bags and the pillows went into the hatch back area. When we have the dd and dsil in the car, there will be less food, so we'll be able to fit them for sure.

No traffic hold-ups, no construction hold-ups, the heat didn't affect us or the car (except we stopped at McDs once instead of a park because we wanted to be in a/c rather than 95 degree heat. I only drove for 2 hours and dh did the rest, but he napped as I drove.

Ds had a disappointment - he's driving down in order to climb up cliffs from low tide on the Bay of Fundy. Except you need reservations so he called today and he and his friend are the only two so they won't do a climbing day with only two people (there's a guide.) So now there really isn't a reason for him to drive. Sigh....

We are off to bed now. It seems early but we are tired and the time changed as we crossed the border so it is really 10:30 here, not 9:30.

Just reading the Thursday castings this Friday - such a hoot.
Harriet - I've always loved Sally Fields so that could be fun. My dad and I used do Pete and Dud impersonations much to my mums disapproval (Peter Cook and Dudley Moore) used have a comedy show mid - late 60s.
Dog here and Jake could be standin too. So true about their attitude. A thoughtful dog that gives a considered response to various requests. Currenty on detention for not respecting fences, and ...
I'm back - currently on a running lead - gathering chick weed seed - and just answered his call to remove his front leg from inside his collar. Staring wistfully at fence. I plugged a hole he had accessed even on the running lead. Currently looking for new opportunities to get to the fence I think.
Just attempted another rope from house to a tree and have given him a different bit of yard to access. Now he's eating god maybe know s what from the leaf litter under a tree prev unreachable. I will probably need to make adjustments to that running line.

OK - he pulled my my double half hitch undone. Tried a tripple halfhitch. He got himself really worked up soI had to bring him in. Jake can't play the next part of the role - much plucking of sticky chickweed seed off his feet. No my dog is funny about back feet/legs too so restraint of squirmy bucky dog was rqd to get the most done. He bonked my head with his which always has after effects for me.

I had to laugh out loud at Harmony's statement...

Last night I was thinking so much about our movie I missed not one but two turns to the store I was going to. Must have driven a good extra 4 miles with everything on my mind.

Well as for HRM's action packed movie, I think that Sweetie should be played by Jimmy Stewart, although he would have to have a full beard much like Kenny Rodgers. And when I asked him who should play Mr. Guy he immediately answered....The skipper from Gilligan's Island. I said although Al Hale Jr. fit Mr. Guy now who ever was chosen to play Mr. Guy needs to be a bit tougher. We'll have to wait and see what Norma said.

However the more I think about our movie the more I think the idea behind it all would make a terrific book or movie. So much so that I've already looked into copy writing the idea...Don't swoon dear Lucylee. No need to pull out the smelling salts... I said the IDEA not the people. My gut keeps telling me we're on to something and I always listen to my gut.
After all this is a public site and someone just might try and gleen the idea from us.

Because I started thinking this might be a far out idea...that is to copy write it...I asked Sweetie's opinion about it while we were at dinner. He keeps saying you're on to something with this idea and he is the voice of logic and reason. However he kept saying to me...write it yourself, write it yourself and then it will be copy written. He pointed out that one of my best life long friends just had her book published and she could probably help me. Geesh I said to Sweetie you can't be serious, but he thinks the story line is a terrific idea...

So much so that he said we need someone to pitch the idea to a tv producer so they could make a show of it...he said think of all the story lines they would have...and if done well enough the series could last for years. He was serious. You have to know my husband to really appreciate how astounded I am at his reply....

I might be up to the idea of writing us a book...and in the past could have probably done it justice...had I not suffered from these gosh darn mini-strokes. However they have taken away my ability to write and to spell even the simplest words. Even now I sit where with my dictionary to the left of me cursing under my breath as I look up the same word for the thousanth time. I've gotten to the point that I am keeping a running list of words I use frequently written on a pad so I don't have to keep looking up the same word over and over again. Knowing that how would I ever finish writing a book. I need a ghost writer...any ideas

See I'm ramblin'...another night without enough good sleep. Off to bed for me. Nitters ya'll.......

Great ideas, Cowinkie! I always wanted to write a book, but I'll leave that up to you. It sounds very much like The Covington Series (8 books) by Joan Medlicott. Sort of like an expanded version of The Golden Girls. Do you remember how they wrote the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, as a series of letters which told the story? Maybe yours could be a series of forum entries.....

Ok not going to think of this any more.

Went through a bunch of papers tonight. Dragged stuff out. More mess. I'll never get caught up. Need to go to bed...

Cowinkle - just remember to claim its all fiction. I'm with you on cant spell - not that it was ever good. Not that I've had ministrokes but I think all my headinjuries are coming home to roost.
I really need get finished up here before I lose it too much. I guess thats the fear.

I'm changing my appointment time from sept to a tuesday. There are monthly friday "things" that clash if I up my involvement in another area. JUst remembered someone is wanting to start something on a tuesday - and I'm out from that if it does get off the ground.

Time to walk dog. Geting that done before dark is my winter task too - having success with that. All his effort pulling earlier may mean we can settle for a shorter route than 3k.
Also tending bedtimes - improvement I think.
And dishes daily - well mostly - though I mostly just have a few.

Mostly I've been having a sort of lent this month - making sure I get a daily dose of attitude tune up. Whispering - it seems to be paying off.
