SHEs Organized

Well, that was a whole lot of work here in the office. As I look around I can see where I've worked, but I also see where it needs more.

I just took another big heavy bag out to the garbage can. I'm not sure the result of my last bit of work left us with a workable solution...jobs that never happened go in a drawer alphabetically. People have a habit of calling years later and asking about looking into things again... but when there are so many we can't get into the file drawer, it's time to purge the oldest stuff and throw some away. I now have a big cardboard file box with old stuff in it.

I dream of the day I can clean all this stuff out. I think about all the stuff I'll no longer need. Of course, that would mean we're older and unable to work..or worse..but that day will come soon enough.

So this is the very hardest I've worked since I began not feeling well. I'm glad I was able to get this much done.

I haven't bothered to go into the office since long before getting sick. Instead there's a huge number of piles on the dining room table, waiting for me. I've written a couple of cheques and sent in the US tax return but that's it (the accountant did the return I just had to sign and mail it.)

Nice to see that Suzlew found her way home.

Dh and I watched "We bought a zoo" tonight. I cried and cried and cried.

Now we are off to bed.

DH is watching PBS and they're having folk music groups on like Peter, Paul and Mary, etc.. I hear it from my small office.

We're getting up early in the a.m. so DH and his friend can get firewood. I'm trying to do a snail mail catch-up tonight. 1 letter down, 2 to go.

I'm a list person,too, but I have a small index card folder, which I use as a notebook for routines and days I clean, with inspirational things in it,too.

I do all right on my morning and evening routines, but after lunch until about 5 p.m. I'm sort of lost. I do things, sometimes nap 1 hour or 40 min., read, do mail, computer stuff, laundry. I do things, but they don't seem to be planned into a specific routine to follow. I wonder why? I get more "me" time then, but watch 1 sports hour-long show with DH at 2 p.m.

I don't know what BS is that stress messes with. But I have FM (Fibromyalgia) that stress messes with. Oh, does BS stand for blood sugar? DH is diabetic.

Hi everyone. We've had rain showers off and on all day today, with just a rumble of thunder in the distance occasionally. I was here a few time today to cuop and now that the house is quiet I can post.

Kathryn, I checked my email several time today and it finally arrived late this afternoon. Very touching!

Our company has gone home. Ddil#3 and her two dsisters left on Tue night, traveled to ne TN, then ddil on home to VA. Got a text from ds last night that she made it home safely.

I enjoy reading the lists made here daily as it sometimes reminds me of something I need to do. I do make a grocery/shopping list, but not for my daily routine. If we're planning a trip away, or for company, or a special occasion I will write down everything I want to get done by a certain date.

Yesterday was errand day. Dh had an inr test first thing, then we went to the dmv to pay for license tags for next year. Stopped at W-M on the way home. While waiting for our turn at the dmv I had a phone call from dsis. It was good to hear from her if only for a few minutes!

This morning was a desk day so that's done for another week. This afternoon I spent cutting out more fabric for the new quilt. This will be a little different than just sewing a bunch of squares together. Later this afternoon ds#2 stopped on his way home from work to cut the grass in front yard. Didn't take very long but he stayed for a little while to visit. Gave him the last few pineapple upsidedown cupcakes we made Tues. to take home for a snack. Also gave him the new registration and sticker for my car that dgd17 is driving.

Oh, while ds was here he told us that dgd17 was very upset because someone apparently had keyed the hood of the car, a big long scratch, then other marks as if they wanted to write something. She notified the school office and the School Resource Officer spent 2nd and 3rd periods with her going through the security camera tapes, which, unfortunately, didn't show anything. So it could have happened before the tapes were current, or at the college parking, or where she volunteers. Who knows????!!!

OKay, I loved LO's reaction/comments when he saw his room!

Having a big storm here with lightning and hail! Had to turn on the outside light to see what all the racket was and sure enough, little marble-sized bits of ice were bouncing off everything! Lots of rain, too. Guess I should get off here!

Six pages tonight… just trying to cuop…

Bernice – I hope everyone convinced you that your lists are perfectly acceptable here! It is definitely just an ongoing joke we have w/Harriet, in particular. I for one cannot function without my lists! I love making them, I love crossing things off, I love making new ones and carrying over things that are undone. I almost feel a sense of great accomplishment just by writing the list! The only problem is… yeah… I don’t really love DOING the tasks. * sigh * I have a card file, but my cards mainly exist to remind me of the things I should write on my LISTS! LOL!

I kinda have a spreadsheet now, too, OKay. Unfortunately, it is just making me aware of the tasks that consistently remain Undone. * sigh *

I love the ta-da lists, also, and often use that, Bernice – b/c in my world, the best laid plans VERY often go astray… so it’s nice to see that at least SOMETHING was accomplished.

I got the e-mail, Kathryn… haven’t opened it yet, but I see it on my new e-mail list.

Ditto – Dee – get thyself to a physician! You have to take good care of yourself! We need you!

Likewise Harmony… it’s time for you to feel better, too! You have definitely served your time.

Hope Kathryn is getting back to full speed, too!

Helia, yes… I tried not to think about your ballgame last weekend… truth be told, as for me and my house, we were pulling for your Wolverines. It just gets sooo… tiresome… being in this state, with Talent On Loan From God coaching over there… and all the bragging about their 40-million national championships… * sheesh * Doesn’t help that we were losing to Clemson at the same time and will probably lose to half the folks we play this year.
* sigh * And can you believe it, this year, along with our season tickets to all the home games, we are sooo… fortunate … that the away games are close by – Nashville, and Oxford & Starkville, MS – so I do not get a Saturday off until THANKSGIVING!!! AAAAUUGGGHHHH!!!
My parents do NOT understand this hatred dh & ds have for the “other” team. They maintain that as long as we are representing our STATE and not playing each other, we should all pull for each other. DH & ds think dparents just do NOT understand the situation. It is different, I think for alumni, which dh & ds are, and dparents are not. Dbro went to the other school, but he is not as much into sports as dh & ds. I went to a smaller school, closer to home. DH converted me to his college and his church. I married young and was easily swayed.

Oh – so nice to see SuzLew!!!

Speaking of ta-da's...
Let's see what happened today.
* talked to dmom on phone three times
* graded some papers
* proofread some school np articles
* sent e-mail re: Homecoming committee I'm co-chair of
* taught over 100 teenagers something about possessive nouns... I hope...
* called re: tickets for future events
* visited dmil w/dh
* went to CVS for dmom
* went to dmom's house, picked up misc items
* ate supper
* went to hospital (an hour away) w/dh, visited w/dparents for probably 1 1/2 hours
* read some of the newspapers

Nope... no exercise on there... no vacuuming/etc (which is desperately needed!)... no watering plants, which are gasping and coming up for their last breath, I think...
BUT... obviously, I have not been lying on the couch eating bon-bons and sleeping.

E-mail makes me want to cry, too.
I hope Indiana knows how much we miss her, and I hope she knew/knows how much she helped me. I know she often thought her wise words to me were falling on deaf ears... but she helped me sooo much in sooo many ways.
She was a remarkable person.
