Helia - I'm in Qld without daylight saving, SE corner which is just slightly west of cape Byron --the most easterly part of australia. I did claim sunrise earlier than it happened though. Officially its 4.45am. Ans when I looked this am it wasmn't quite that early. maybe the Islands in the bay get in the way. Or maybe there are some other hills in the distance. Truely the magpies and butcher birds have the best songs. A real melody. I often think the prettier the bird, the worse its call.
