Flopsy, Mopsy, and Cottontail are a trio well-behaved little bunny sisters who try to stay out of trouble. They are the daughters of Mr. Rabbit and Mrs. Rabbit have an older bother, Peter Rabbit. They live with their mother and brother in a sandbank underneath the root of a Big Fir Tree. Their father passed away at the hands of Mr. McGregor and his wife, Mrs. McGregor. They typically wear pink coats.

In The Tale of the Flopsy Bunnies, Flopsy and her cousin Benjamin Bunny are the parents of six young rabbits called simply the Flopsy Bunnies. The story concerns how the Flopsy Bunnies, while raiding a rubbish heap of rotting vegetables, fall asleep and are captured by Mr. McGregor who places them in a sack. While McGregor is distracted, the six are freed by Thomasina Tittlemouse, a woodmouse, and the sack is filled with rotten vegetables by Benjamin and Flopsy.

In The Tale of Mr. Tod, Tommy Brock visits Mr. Bouncer Bunny (Benjamin Bunny's father), and then steals his grandchildren, the Flopsy Bunnies, in order to cook and eat them. Flopsy is really mad with Mr. Bouncer, and Mr. Bouncer is very sorry. He is forgiven in the end when Peter and Benjamin save the children.

Happy Friday!

I didn't get enough sleep last night, but I did make considerable progress all in all, and I am hoping today will go smoothly and I will get enough rest before the party (I will need a very early start tomorrow to prep things like salads and meats that shouldn't be marinating overnight). I wake up every morning at nine and grab for the morning paper. Then I look at the obituary page. If my name is not on it, I get up.

Good morning Trissie and thank you for starting us off. You certainly have your hands full.with the party, but I'm sure it will be a huge success.

Dogged a huge WTG for beating the government system into submission! :D

KitKat, we had a Labrador at church yesterday - she is training to be a Hearing Dog, and was very well behaved throughout.

Yesterday, I dropped off the flapjack at the Y.and picked up the Freddie's.med,.Jude supplement.amd.Matildas food from the vet.before the service. Afterwards,.I caught up with the church news (the homeless man, R, (who was homeless due to relationship breakdown, and not due to drink/ drugs etc,. and who was very frightened at the prospect of life.on the street) now has somewhere to live, thanks to intervention by our vicar, who spent several hours on the phone last week talking to various agencies. Once aware of his plight, they moved fast,.and in a few days, a nearby council homed him, in the meantime, the church paid for him to stay at a nearby B&B. Fortunately he has already.sorted out his benefits and attended every interview, and the lady dealing with his case is sorting out his housing benefit for the rent and getting him.sigmed up with a local health centre, so his future is now looking brighter. :D (S3ft3ws3s²da1ébhnçc. Nañq1w - Matilda again! Maybe she remembers her time as a homeless kitten?)

The vicar has also had a long phone call with the police, and requested they Do Something about the drug dealing in the churchyard , which has reached epidemic proportions in the last couple of weeks, culminating in.a young woman overdosing on Monday. shock: Fortunately, DF PM was at the church at the time in her capacity.as churchwarden, so called the ambulance, and they were able to get there in time. This also seems to have been successful, as the churchyard just had "normal" people walking through it yesterday and no little clusters in various corners, and the tent which had been set up ,. presumably.as the HQ, has been abandoned. We also saw the police driving by a couple of times, which is reassuring.

I came home, and after a late.lumch cleaned the kitchen, which was BAD. DH came back from seeing his DF, and we just sat for the rest of the evening!

Today I really.need.to get out into my garden. I'm just hoping it's not too humid and.muggy. I may end up out in the garden early and later on, and doing inside jobs during the middle of the day.

Trissie, unfortunately, our city has a big problem with homelessness and with drugs. It's relatively straightforward to help someone who has fallen on hard times, is clean and sober, and *wants* to be helped and it's important to help them ASAP before they get beaten up.or dragged down iinto that "underworld." The complex where R has been housed has someone keeping an eye on the residents to ensure they manage everything ok..

We think this latest lot of dealers had been "moved on" from somewhere else (possibly from up in the valley? Or from the High Street?) and this was wasn't a case of just selling a bit of weed to the College students, it was definitely the hard stuff with needles and other paraphernalia scattered about, so they had to go. Quickly . Especially as there are several hostels housing vulnerable young people near the church.

kittykatt, I am surprised there's a large drug scene in a small town like yours, but if I recall correctly, you are a university town, so maybe that's why?

Home from errands. It's scorching hot outside! 32C and counting. DBD brought over two friends and they are now in the pool, so I will have to keep an eye on them. My Tesco order should arrive within the next hour, and I need to put away the groceries I brought in, but first I need a large glass of water!

Trissie, yes, you're right and we are a university town. We also, unfortunately, have a huge homeless and "rough sleeper" problem. Possibly because we're right in the SW, so the climate here is a *lot* milder than further north, and we're only a few miles away from the seaside, which is another attraction. Also unfortunately, many of the homeless have mental health and / or addiction problems - this is why as soon as someone becomes homeless, the relevant agencies try and get them into accommodation ASAP, to stop them being sucked into that way of life and possibly developing even more problems.

DH has decided he wants to make bacon sandwiches for lunch.😋 However, despite have a couple of packs in the fridge, he took himself off to Waitrose to buy some more, as apparently it wasn't the "right type"! I took advantage of his absence to make my DPC, as I could be sure of no interruptions.
