I have put gas in the lawn tractor. I went and got a bit of gas in the truck. Because it's the long weekend the price is higher. I tried to pick up dh's prescription but they open later on Saturdays and Sundays. I usually go later.

Dh was awake to have his meds a couple of hours ago and asked if I still wanted to go to Niagara Falls to get some meat. He said he would be ready in "20 minutes." Guess who is still sleeping??

It's already hot and humid here and I've got all the fans and a/c units going. Windows are all closed.

I need to empty the dishwasher so I can refill it.

It's not bright and fresh here, but it is Saturday! I have a pedicure appointment soon - dog is walked and I'll head out in a minute. We have had a bit of rain here but I think it's done for the moment, more beginning this afternoon. We have that dreaded party this evening too. Otherwise, hoping for a quiet day here.

Cathy, I admit that I fact checked the quote because it didn't sound like Mark Twain, and there's a lot of rubbish quotes attributed to people like him. I was pleasantly surprised by the source, and thank you for recognizing and quoting it in full for us! It's perfect for a summer Saturday morning!

Morning all. Happy Saturday. Bright and fresh is going to be true here looks like. It rained overnight and now the sky is blue. Good I need to go pick my raspberry patch again. I told both my married girls they could have some since I still have some left from last year.

Gonna let it dry out a bit and wait for meds to kick in. I woke up with a headache. At like 430. Ugh I wanted to sleep longer. Took one then. Better but still there. Had my soak and dh stretched my neck before he left for work. Took another one now 4 hours later and eating some cereal.

Big task of the day... see if I can get ds into a project or at least talking a bit. He used to sit and watch stuff and sometimes come Jabber away and tell me all about it. He still smiles and laughs at something sometimes but I am not really liking that.he evades me seeing his screen. He's always been what I now call after some research... selective mute. He can talk and tell me all kinds of stuff when he initiates it. But when you ask him something he freezes and nothing. It is more than stubborn.. can't find the words. I've learned to tell him I want to know what his answer is.. when I come home for lunch... example..give him some time.

Do any of you teens mom's have issues with them being anti social like that? Dh is understanding. Honestly cause I think he was very much like that. Just says what did mom and dad do in that season? I think it normal for some teens.. some are seeking friends and fit in. He has a few friends at school and some new sports made a great group but no contact in summer.

He got his learners passed the written. No big desire to try yet. How does a 16 year old like this even desire to find a job to start.

I know I'm full of questions. My 2 older ones were so completely different. Mature and mostly social turned into beautiful young adults.

finished my tollway paperwork.
finished put away and clean up on dining room
it's cool and it's been pouring for 2 days - we need it. it's 69 degrees wow so happy!!!!
d helper got mom up, gave her a shower, dd older is exercising mom-she is so good with her, d helper is doing mom's sheets
dd younger is in Tampa today - should be fun.

day before yesterday - d Gracie dog cut her pad in half from some construction metal that was in the grass. had to go to er vet bc this new vet company that took over our old vet is too busy for the dog. I have to find another vet. it's become a company and has grown and not the veterinarians that we used to have. I had to drive 25 minutes away - to emergency room vet that would have been handled by our old vet.
I can't let her out bc she has a bandage on her leg and it is really muddy outside - lots and lots of puddles.

((Gracie)) ouch, ouch. So sorry, blessed. ER is hard, stressful for puppy and people. She has a good indoor companion in you through the rainy time now. Glad you are getting the rain. Hope she heals quickly.

Lauralind, the tech who sees me once a month told me Thursday her 16-yr-old dd has become very quiet, even in situations that are inappropriate, or in which quietness would work against her dd's own interests. For instance, at ordinary dr's appt, a new dr asked her name and she looked down, then at her mother. The tech had to insist to her, "Dr is talking to you." So, she is worried - is this just teen angst, or a struggle with something more overarching. Tech didn't say whether there have been any diagnoses for her dd. I guess I say this to you to note that one does hear this worry about changes or worsening through age-seasons, teenagerhood.

I've started another 4-part ToDo page, divided in quarters, just a few things in each of 4 areas of life that I anticipate giving attention in the coming week. This kind of limiting and corralling helps me with ToDos, even though I'm "on the same page" literally. Divide and conquer. I've chosen headings, Nutrition Planning, Call/Contact, Projects, and have another space I'll choose a title for later as the week shapes up.

Our golden boy Moses once has a cut on his pad and we and him were miserable, bw2. I think I ended up putting a plastic bag on his paw with a rubber band for outside but had to keep an eye on him constantly. It was evening when we found him bleeding and we went to emergency vet. Even there, they were so busy we had to leave him overnight and pick him up the morning, all sewn up. We never knew how he cut it.

The pedicure took awhile. Was late starting, I think they open at 11 but it looked like some of the 11 a.m. appts had to finish before I was able to get started. And I think the gal was probably inexperienced. She did a lot of rubbing and massaging and took a long time. I don't have a favorite nail tech there, they all have seemed okay, so I ask for whoever is available.
