Well it looks like I will be eating crow for breakfast. It was Wednesday morning when the TV debacle happened. When dh came home he messed with the remote and tried every combo of buttons. Nada. This morning he did the same and guess what? You guessed it. It is working again. She must have pushed the game button or input select button and it stuck or something, because dh tried those too. For whatever reason and I am not complaining, it has reset itself. Yikes, I have to apologize to a 2 yr. old. The thing is she still needs to leave things alone. Yesterday at the other house after the boys came in, her and dgs5 were in the basement. The small microwave that they had on the wet bar was sitting on the floor. One of them plugged it in and she put an old cell phone in it, pushed some buttons and it started running. It started smelling and dgs5 hollered for his mom. The phone was hot and had black spots on it. The thing is dgs5 was probably as guilty as she was. Like dh says it is no wonder that she is so ornery, she watches the boys and then adds her own touches to create havoc. Dm told her she was too rough with the baby. Now she will say to me, "I not naughty, I not ornery, I not rough". Yeah, right.

The bright side to all this, we don't have to go buy a TV this morning. Dh is going to get a haircut. Then while it is still cool, we can go inspect the house and make a decision whether to roll up our sleeves or just pay the bank and walk away. Then we need to come home and do a final fall yard cleanup since the leaves are finally on the ground and no longer in the trees.

MT, I was reading your blog and looking at your pictures. I just love your new home and the beautiful Southwestern decor.

Lilac - I am sooooo glad the TV started working again. You DGD2 and LO would get along fabulously. It seems some children are just extra full of energy and their little minds go 100000 miles per hour! :D It sounds like staying up with DGD2 is an challenge, for sure!

I was over the stomach bug.....so I thought. Yesterday afternoon it came roaring back worse than before. Stomach cramping, extreme nausea (just smelling DH cooking food made me sick) as well as the other end. I added 2 more layers of clothes and snuggled in the recliner covered by 2 thick blankets, but couldn't get warm. Thankfully, this morning it is somewhat better. Stomach is still cramping, headache is still with me, everything hurts when I move - even my toes! However, I am able to keep coffee and water down so I'm happy with this progress!

I am working cards one at a time. I feel lousy no matter if I sit still or move around, so I might as well get some things done.

Lilac, Good luck with your decision making today.

We have the realtor coming at 2 today to walk through here, and then an evening event at 6 p.m.

Goals for day:
-walk the dogs
-throw b-a-l-l for Moses
-straighten up house, routines, etc.
-get rid of dead plants outside
-hardware store for specialty light bulbs, would like to replace some burned out ones before realtor comes
-post office before noon
-what else?

I can't believe it's 10:30 already.

-clear kitchen counters
-dressed and ready to go out
-inventory the light bulbs we need
-write two checks so I can mail at the post office
-make the bed

LOL bittersweet, I don't see how you could have managed much good out of that phone conversation.

Lynlee, you're very insightful - yes, it's most often about the responsibility of animal care, one way or another. The habit of daily care chores being remembered, or the bad dreams sometimes, I think, about "what if" neglect is happening. "Reasons" to go out the door to care for dependents who are actually long gone.

TV - This is what happens at our house : time passes and somehow technology works again. I don't know, maybe this is new employment for shoemaker's elves. Giggling at Lilac's dgd announcing she is not ornery and OKay saying how LO might enjoy her. I remember at Christmas when "our" 2 boys, about 2 and 4, first encountered dsecondbil's daughter 2.5 in a play situation. The boys fell silent with wide eyes and every single thing "the little girl" did was copied. When she stopped playing, WonderBoy came to me distraught, saying, "the little girl, the little girl" expecting me to convince her to come back and lead him in further fun.

Hmmm... a 2 year old, 5 year old and a phone burned up in a previously unplugged microwave. Yes, I believe detectives would question the 5-year-old. :D

Hard to believe Nancy's dh is already shoveling snow. I'm used to her weather being so similar to ours, but not when winter hits. I will have to say, when I did the outdoor chores this morning, I came back in with hands cold enough to threaten some unsuspecting warm-house person. Change in the wind.

Harder to believe Twins Mom is considering selling that lovely old fashioned two-story home with the wrap around porch. (not) But I did think the photos you posted that time to show us indoor/outdoor room were very attractive, Twins, very livable space. Hope you find the right items at hardware store.

Good Morning dear ladies,

Stopping by before heading out the door to work.

Our weather has been a variety. Grabbedmy winter coat to wear yesterday as the temps were up to 50 but the winds made it feel so much colder. Temps in the 60's today but wind is low so sat on the porch for a little while, listened to music and watched the clouds go by.

Have noticed that the very deep feeling of sadness that I had after Dmom died is gone. I'm glad that it is gone, but feel bad that I may be on my way to forgetting some things about her. I have hung quite a few pictures of Dmom and boys as they were growing up around the house and the boys enjoy looking and talking about them. Even some laughs.

We are in count down mode at WM. Sales start Thanksgiving night at 10:00. Lots of day workers to work overnight. Am a bit bothered by the fact that Shopping times keep creeping more into family time. I work the afternoon of Thanksgiving anyway so we have ours on a different day. But as DH tells me: "That's Business."

Off to my work adventures.

Have a great Saturday all!

DD & I went grocery shopping this morning. The market really wasn't too bad -no big lines -not yet anyway. She spent nearly $200 and I spent another $90 and we saved about $135 in coupons and 'bargains' -mostly buy one/get one free things. Now I'm beat! We just now finished putting them away (after cleaning out the freezer and fridge).

Took 2 pizzas out of the freezer to cook for lunch -we'll see how good they are.

Twins and Lilac hope you both are able to make good decisions.

Paid Med Co for my (finally) new prescriptions this morning. They're supposed to take them out automatically, but somehow we got billed. Now to start working on dh's. He has some refills but has at least one NEW one I have to call for. I'm sure he doesn't have enough to get through the year.

Indiana's thanks for prayers in J&C is well noted. We will continue to pray for you and expect to see you better and whole very soon!
