This week is flying by!
I'm up and going strong. Am enjoying the challenge of using timer and seeing if I can beat it.

Re: Wednesday doings
I'm up and on the treadmill even though I didn't get to bed until 10:20 last night. Set the alarm for 8 hours and although dh's alarm woke us up at 5:55, my alarm got me out of bed successfully.
I'm hoping for a shortened workout and as quick a shower as possible to help me get out the door at 8:20.
My car has my costco returns and my errand list so that part of getting out the door is ready.

Re: Wednesday doings
Tweaking my cards and routines are working well and has brought the "fun" factor back into working my plan. 44 cards completed this morning (in the past 3 hours). I'm starting my day with a feeling of accomplishment and am motivated to keep it up.
Today will be filled with doing for others.
** DBro - I've been txt'ing with family to make sure DBro home coming from hospital is as smooth as possible - so much to get ready! I'm on standby for now, but will break loose from whatever I'm doing at a moments notice to go help if needed.
** DParents are going to DDads pulmonary doc appoint by themselves today. They are fiercely protecting their independence and I applaud that.....as long as they can. I got DDad's medicine & frequency list updated yesterday (2 pages long!!) so they have can provide correct information to the doctor.
** LO has group book reading and craft time at library today. He asked to go to his "old" library (20 miles away) so that will add 30 minutes (or so) of driving time to this activity. No word from LO lawyer when he wants to meet LO. I tried to contact them to let them know we would be out of town next week and you would have thought I had broken every rule in the book. I was quickly told that he was LO lawyer and I wasn't to contact them. I am just to stand by and do whatever they say....whenever they decide to say it. Yes sir! Standing by.
** DGS14, DGS16 and girl friend. I'll pick them up from school, stop somewhere for food to tame their raging teenage hunger pains
then bring them to our home to spend a few hours before attending church tonight. DGS16 is cooking dinner for everyone and has his menu planned (with help from his GF). I need to check the wind to see if we can use the fire pit tonight.
** DH - sweet sweet DH. He is so appreciative for everything I do for him. It makes me want to do more!

Re: Wednesday doings
Just managed to post in yesterday's thread -a post that had set there all day! I'm up but not dressed. Only managed to get out my clothes for the day, make the bed and test my bs (still VERY good!
) and weigh myself. Next up is s2s, meds, breakfast and try to type up church council minutes and get them sent off. Then I have to take dh to our church here to help some of the men load up a trailer for an 'older' person who is moving. Lets just say DH is the youngster!
Have to pick up dgd13 from school at 1:30 (early dismissal). Also have to take dh to meet his db to help dismantle something. So I'll probably go from there to DSisIL's till dh is done. So not much time here.
DGD's therapist comes to the house tomorrow and I think DD has a list of items for her to talk about. She's very quickly falling into 'old' patterns.
WTG, Kathryn on having things so ready to head out! I need to do the same here.
Better get dressed so I can get some food into me -I'm fading.

Re: Wednesday doings
Good morning!
Wonder of wonders, while I was grading papers last night, dh got out ALL the Christmas stuff (except tree) last night and put it all where it goes.
Then -- stupid of stupid -- I asked if I could "put some space" around the Santas & snowmen on the china cabinet.
OH. MY. GOODNESS. If a man does something for you, you had better not question it or ask to change it. We ended up with some angry words which ended with me telling him to just leave it, just leave it. Fine.
* sigh * It will probably be the last time he helps with Christmas decorations... which I hate to have caused. I was sooo thankful for his help... BUT. The Santa's and snowmen ARE all jammed together in order of heighth and look like they are in a military line up or something.
I also questioned why he hung all 5 stockings. This irritated him, too. "Doesn't the baby deserve a stocking, too?"
His back was killing him by the time he was finished -- he's been having some trouble -- pain comes & goes, but when it comes, it is excruciating. So of course, he was EXTRA grumpy by bedtime. Plus, he is EXTREMELY sensitive to being questioned after he does a good deed -- which I well know -- and I should have just ignored the military line-up of snowmen and Santas -- no one's going to even see them except us & ds & ddil anyway. What difference does it make?
Anyway. Our Tuesday ended sorta badly. Hope today is better.

Re: Wednesday doings
I need to be rolling out of the house in 30 minutes to go pick up dmom for today's dr marathon - this is the one that is the longest drive from her house. I also go to have blood drawn at 2 p.m. today for the HRT practitioner. (Altho I took meds at 8:20 instead of 8 a.m. - I hope that won't mess up the results too much.)
Gotta run.
Gotta run.

Re: Wednesday doings
((Dee)) happy hugs. I am so delighted for you that you are seeing better numbers. Wow, and please tell dd kudos on loss of 18 pounds - we are having lots of ... ...
"reports from them that's doin' " today for Wednesday doings!
(That was a regular segment of Mother Earth News magazine with reports of self-sufficiency - inspiring stuff!)
Dd was sick through the night so is not headed for school today. I think it is just her reaction to something she ate, but without sleep she is a weak puppy.
In the mail today, according to the only info I have, return address labels will arrive and we can finish cards. Although it is Pearl Harbor Day, my traditional tree day, It's pouring rain and I wouldn't have wanted to go get a tree in this weather anyway, so maybe my personal rule on cards out before tree in will stand in a sensible way.
Speaking of the d~i~s~c~o~n~n~e~c~t between online info and real delivery - Kathryn, I believe that is the WORST snafu I've ever heard! Makes my 'package propaganda' incident look tame. I would have a hard time holding my temper over that.
Dd has specific To-Dos today, according to our best knowledge of what teachers expect. Otherwise, she'll nap. I want to wrap a few more presents and continue on cards.

Re: Wednesday doings
Good morning to OKay, Kathryn, Dee, Lucylee, Twins & Harriet!
Congrats to Cowinkie! (Love, that pretty confetti all around her name, Harriet)
Up early this morning & getting caught up on housework today. Have been running a lot the past two weeks & am thrilled to be home on this rainy day. Have been shopping, running errands & babysitting for dsil & dfriend; heading back to dsil tomorrow so she can finish up her Christmas shopping.
Put flannel sheets & winter comforter on the bed this morning. Spring/summer blankets are washing now. Bathrooms are spiffed & I chopped carrots & celery for soup I'm making for dinner tonight.
I finally tried a kitchen tip I read about & it worked wonderfully! The four grates on top of my stove are gray. Well -- they used to be
! Over time they have had misc food spatters burned onto them & had turned brown & discolored. I even looked into replacing them after scrubbing with steel wool didn't help much, but was shocked at the high price. Anyhoo... I once read about using ammonia to clean grates & last night I finally tried this tip. Put one grate in a gallon ziploc bag & add one cup of ammonia. Seal the bag & let it sit overnight. (I did this in the basement sink) It worked!! This morning (it just happened to be 12 hours exactly) the liquid in the bag was brown & the grate was much cleaner. I took a small bristle brush to it & all the rest of the gunk just brushed right off -- no hard scrubbing needed. It took a few minutes to get all the nooks & curves brushed but now the grate looks brand new!! I'm amazed &
. Over the next few days I'll do the rest of them, & will use gloves & a mask from now on. Had to walk away a few times from the ammonia smell the first couple of minutes. Also, not sure if it made a difference but I placed the grate in the bag upside down so that the top was resting in the liquid. I also didn't rinse the grate with water until I had finished brushing everything off.
As soon as I finish my tea I'm off to switch the laundry, check on two orders, & start some prep for the dinner I'm bringing to dsil tomorrow.
Waving ~~~~~to all who stop by later. Have a wonderful day!
