Walking Wednesday
Good morning, villagers ~
I'm happy to see Indiana posting again.
The local garage guy finally called yesterday to say he can work on DH's car today. I suppose there is a remote chance he can finish it this morning, but I'm assuming that I will be walking to work at noon. Hopefully DH will remember to come pick me up at 8:30. Weather forecast is for dramatic drop in temp and snow tonight. I don't want to walk home in that in the dark.
Sewing group last night was a lot of fun.
Sunny ~ Have you been using the warm washcloth trick on your eye? I used to get infected eyelids all the time when I wore contacts. Soak a washcloth in water as hot as you can stand it, hold it to your eye. Keep warming up the cloth. Try for 15-20 minutes at a time, several times a day. The eye doctor told me this was the quickest and easiest way to clear the infection, and would usually let me avoid having to get a prescription for antibiotic drops. Plus it felt good.

Re: Walking Wednesday
BookSaver, I will use your Walking Wednesday as encouragement to do my Walk Away the Pounds tonight. I didn't do ANY exercise last night. I was just too exhausted.
Definitely hoping you do NOT have to walk home in the snow tonight!!! Ooohhh... I can't imagine. I'm not too far from my work, but waaay too far to strike out in the dark, that's for certain!

Tomorrow is another day.

Re: Walking Wednesday
I'm on the treadmill after a two day break so today's theme is perfect for me.
Booksaver: good job on practicing moderating. If a person's first post is an ad, then I have no qualms of deleting both the post and the user.
Today is a 'normal' day but I have to get church work done and paperwork too, plus yesterday and today's weeklies. Being out all day on Tuesday really wrecks my routines although my Tuesday weeklies seldom take over 30 minutes and do a lot to make the house seem under control even though they are cleaning things already tidy, in most cases.
Getting some paperwork done might help me sleep better at night. My TOM arrived on time this month so maybe the excessive hot flashes will go away. Why can't I get a hot flash in the day while I'm at my computer, shivering because the house is in the low 60s instead of when I'm toasty at night under the covers in my waterbed?!

Re: Walking Wednesday
Kathryn, I am glad that you mentioned the moderating comment to Booksaver. I thought I was seeing things. There was suppose to be a post and it wasn't there. That explains it and I now know I am not crazy.
Planning to stay home today. I can't decide whether I want to read or organize the rooms that need it, so that I will be able to unpack the boxes in the sunroom, as time allows. It is suppose to be very windy with flurries.
I didn't do much in the other house yesterday, but I worked in the garage and got it organized. I threw a bunch of junk away and organized what I wanted to keep plus vaccumed the garage floor. I have an old vaccum I use for that. I just hate to sweep and have the dust flying around. I don't know if I have mentioned this but in the fall of 08, I put a bunch of boxes of magazines in the garage, planning to go through them after the first of the year. I set an April 1 deadline and was going to dump them if I hadn't touched them. Well in Feb 09 I was diagnosed with diabetes and they became the least of my worries. In fact, they have sat there so long, that I almost don't see them. They are neatly boxed and along the wall towards the garage overhead door. Anyway, I need to open up the boxes and put them in plastic bags that I can manage and get them to the recycling center. There are 4 boxes in the house that I need to do the same with. Uggh! I can't see lugging them over here, if I haven't had time to sort through them before, I sure don't now.
Well I guess I better eat, do meds and shower. If the furniture delivery guys call, I want to look presentable.

I'm sorry, Lilac. Yes, someone was trying to advertise wigs. I'm not usually here early enough to zap the spammers, so it was fun practice to do first thing this morning.

At work and will watch a webinar starting at 9 a.m. - beats reviewing payroll tax returns, tho.

Re: Walking Wednesday
Slow moving here but I have done my devotions and light therapy, had breakfast, sent a follow up email from last night and made a phone call.
I'm also s2s (not a given so I suppose I should claim victory there!)
Now to do some church work.

Re: Walking Wednesday
So much for not leaving the house. Dd1 called to see if I was going to be out and about. I told her no but I could be, what do you need? She had forgot her lunch. So after I was ready for the day, I picked it up and took it to her. I have to be an equal opportunity helper outer.
Yesterday I went out to dd2 to pick up dgd15 and get her to the basketball game she was cheering at. An electrician was there and dd2 couldn't leave. Point being if I could drive 13-14 miles round trip for that, I could sure get dd1 her lunch.
So far no flurries but it is cold and very windy. I will be glad when I am not paying utilities on 2 houses. For the most part I keep the thermostat at 69. Dm was convinced that we would be putting in a pellet burner immediately. Dh and I have barely even mentioned it. I think we are both looking ahead to his retirement and thinking that would be one more expense. The almost $500.00 that it costs us for a year would pay for a lot gas. Plus that is one more chore, keeping the hopper filled daily and cleaning it, every few days.
I am so glad that I was stubborn and didn't agree to go on the cruise with dm, dsisil, aunts and cousins. They leave Saturday to drive to Galveston and board the ship on Sunday. At the time a move and an outage at the plant were not on the radar. As it is, the outage starts today and the last thing dh needs is for me to be away and him have to do all the things I do.
The other house had 4 flower beds. This one has none and I plan to keep it that way. I can put flowers in pots and planters. I am so tired of weeding that many beds. I have 4 peony bushes that dm gave me. I had meant to get them transplanted in the fall. That didn't happen so I will wait and do it after the house sells and before closing. They either will or will not make it. Dm frets over them a lot.

Re: Walking Wednesday
Lilac: can you take some cuttings off the peonies and see if you can root them so even if the main bushes don't make it, you'll have 'son of' bushes?
I got one church task done and that has led to another. I just finished a 20 minute break and will get to work on that task now. When it is done, I can file some paperwork away so it also works on my goal of cleaning up the paperwork that is messing the kitchen.

Re: Walking Wednesday
Good morning all. I was up late and could not wake up this am. I have been back on lunchtime caffeine again and I think I am going to have to go off it again. I like tea at lunch and restaurants do not have decaf. But I have trouble sleeping at night when I have it. The cats are getting better about leaving me alone at night, but still I am awake. I need energy badly.
The maids really are coming today, they have already called. Tonight I could eat dinner at church, which would be good since I have nothing at home. However, they are having chicken fried steak which I don't like much. Not sure if I am going or not. I would enjoy the company. I should get back to payroll.
