Alrighty! Who can whistle????? I can hum better than i can whistle. However I'm willing to give it a try and see what happens!

OKay, I'm afraid to move my mouth to whistle - also afraid to eat anything. The pain in the tooth comes and goes - was pretty bad when I woke up, and it's close to normal right now. Will meet dentist at his office at 10:30 today - the office is closed on Fridays. (Dh, in his well meaning manner was insistent that I get up and I really wanted to sleep longer - found out once I was up and hurting that he thought I could be at the dentist's office when they opened this morning as he didn't know they weren't normally open today.) Slept okay with help of Tylenol with codeine.

Have a li$t going for the day - just hope I'm up to it. If I am hurting like I did at times last evening I won't be up to much of anything.

Oh, Okay, this conjured an immediate memory of dgd now 16. We had driven from dgs's appointment in Cincinnati through Atlanta to dd's in FL. DGD saw a billboard with the 7 Dwarfs and excitedly said, "Look, Mom -it's the Ho-Ho guys!" She had to be about 4 at the time. I know, you had to be there. That's a fond memory of time with dd, Shelley.

I'm having sporadic time here at best. Tried to post yesterday and my internet just wouldn't take it.

Going to work on the financial secretary's report today. That will be my longest/hardest one. The rest of the report has gone to print, but I won't feel relaxed until I know this one's done.

Will try to peek in off and on as I work here.

I seem to be slow at things this morning. Alarm went off at 6:40, I dragged myself out of bed at 7:25, I tidied the bedroom and put off getting on the treadmill until 7:55. Then I didn't walk fast enough to make my distance goal in 40 minutes so I had to add 5 minutes, got distracted and I'm just getting off now. I won't be downstairs until at least 9:15.

Hmmmmm 2.5 hours to get from alarm to tea, not impressive.

I can't whistle. But I love to hum and sing. (Not when anyone is listening, though!!! ) Thanks for the happy start to the day, OKay!

I certainly feel more like whistling, though, when I can set the alarm for 8:00 rather than 6:00! For the first time since school started back, I feel like I got a good night's sleep!

2.5 hours from alarm to tea? Sounds like my normal summer-time routine, Kathryn.

Dd13 whistles very well now, but I remember her worries through childhood that her big brothers and big sister could whistle and she couldn't! One of the many disappointments of being the little sister! My favorite whistling is The Andy Griffith show theme. I can hear it from another room and almost FEEL my blood pressure go down!

Today is the AccelReader deadline day and dd has 2 tests she still hasn't had a chance to take, even though she had already finished one of the books. The other smaller book she finished this a.m. and should exceed her goal. That's the way it is for most. The tests line up as they near deadline and usually the English teacher gets nothing else done but monitor the testing computers on the last day. It exhausts me and I'm not even in the classroom. But then, I have many hours invested, too, since 13-year-olds don't drive and public libraries don't deliver. She was only able to find one book using her school library this quarter even though we typed up a long potential list from the school's online site, and two - no, three - we just bought ourselves, The Time Machine, The Giver and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I don't mind owning these books, but it wasn't my intention. For the children without parents who can drop everything to help, or who will pay for books/gasoline ... I don't know how they manage.

Twins Mom, that's wonderful that your dentist will meet you at the office even though he's not open. I hope it is an easy answer.

Ooh, ouch, (((Twins))).

Taking a little break. My eyes need a break even if I don't. Hard reading the small print of Treasurer's report and transposing it to the computer. Have 1 sheet done and will have dh help me proof it. Unfortunately our eyes seem to register what we EXPECT to see. Sometimes to a 'funny' degree. Know one of our deacons wrote to ask me to make a correction in her report. We have a MEDIATION garden and she had written MEDICATION garden. Well...it could be! Spell check nor I had caught it.

This coming up week is shaping up to be very busy. Sunday dh is expecting to go deep sea fishing with a bunch from our campground. Means we have to drive about 2 1/2 hours each way. Monday he and dsil are going about an hour or so to a large flea market, DGD & DD are off so we'll do something, Tuesday have to take dgd to the dentist at 7:30am, Thursday is our annual luncheon get-together in Sarasota for our campground up north, Friday dgd has off school (so we're babysitting), Saturday is somewhat open unless we decide to go see dgd12 and ddil in Ft. Lauderdale (doubtful), then Sunday I have to be here in front of the computer for our Annual Meeting for church up home.

Guess I'll go do some housework and let my eyes relax a little.

Tea and breakfast is done. Plus light therapy and devotions. My devotions are taking longer right now because I'm doing 2 readings a day in an effort to catch up. I'll be caught up on Monday unless I read three on Saturday or Sunday.

The power flickered here which had multiple results. First, the hot water pot went nuts because it was empty and couldn't reboil so I had to deal with that, plus the UPS alarming, plus waiting for the generator to start, and it didn't. I hadn't realized the power was back on (it is daytime so no lights were on) so I was concerned about the lack of generator until I finally looked at a clock that wasn't on the battery backup and realized the power was on. Then the business phone rang and dh and I both ran for it. It didn't ring again but when dh picked it up he could hear a conversation between two people. He hung up, picked up again, still two people on the line. Then he hung up and the third time he picked up there was no dial tone. On either phone line. So we wondered if it was the phone company (likely because of the crossed line) or if one of our phones had died in the power surge and was messing up our lines. After 2 minutes all was back to normal. So, total time spent on this was 5 minutes but it was a busy and slightly confusing 5 minutes. There's too much technology in our house!

Now I have two choices for the next hour. Housework or updating the presentation with the minister's comments.

I'm up, S2Crocs and have a lol going. Other than that - I'm a zombie.

DH will soon carry totes out to MH and I'll do an inventory to see what I still need.

Beans almost cooked dry in crock pot last night - bottom was OK but a bit along the sides was crunchy. I've added more water and the ham bone. I need to get the veggies for both the bean and the turkey soup going.

We have eliminated a trip to the old lot on Saturday so will make better time to Q. Will probably leave here around noon.

Time to grab some breakfast and flip the laundry twins. TTFN

Good morning all! At payroll, I intend to do the last of the document modifications, then get back to the scripting (which is more fun). Last night, I did nothing except my church meeting and the necessary cat duties. I did go home before the meeting and tried to nap for an hour, but didn't get much sleep. I am so tired of being tired all the time. Tonight DD comes over to spend the night and I have her all Saturday. I have no idea what we will be doing. It would be nice if I could sleep late Saturday, but with DD that won't happen. I am obsessed with sleep. Gotta go to work now.

Okay: Are Max and Ruby vampires from the Fright Side or different characters with the same names?
