Have you been working hard? Life getting a bit overwhelming? Indulge in a little treat today!!

I'll be back at payroll today, and wishing winter would just give up already. We've had almost 6" of snow over the past couple of days *sigh*

My 'treat' today is I get to stay HOME! DH has gone to church to help with clean-up day and then is going over to help his DB. I'm going to try to make sense out of our room and do some packing/sorting for dh. Trying to arrange it so he only has to take his carry-on bag on Thursday. We sent a small satchel of things with our neighbors across the street. They're heading north this weekend. He got called back to work early. Think this will be their last year of traveling home for the summer. They're putting their park model up for sale as soon as they return.

DD has gone to the school board's health fair this morning. Though I expect her back soon. She volunteered to work 5:30-9:30 so had her blood work done last evening.

DD had an EXCELLENT evaluation by the school principal last week. She was so nervous about it and ended up with the scores all "Effiecient" or "Highly Efficient". Her co-teacher didn't fare nearly as well -had a lot of "needs improvement". When dd questioned the principal she was told "You are just a natural teacher" and use every moment as a teaching moment no matter the chaos or disruptions, etc, etc. Made us proud.

Okay, I'm off to take everything from my side of the room (cabinet, bedside stand, dressing table, floor) and put it on the bed. Will work from there.

This whole week has been a treat. DH and I were able to sit and carve and talk to old, dear friends and made a lot of new ones. DH is finally getting better as far as his back and better as far as being afraid to put the knife to the wood. I pushed myself to learn several new things and I am pleased with the results. This morning is waffles and bacon and then 3 more hours of carving before we have to clean up and bring everything home. Then awards dinner tonight.

I talked to my brother last night and he will be coming out to spend the weekend with us next weekend - so that will be a lot of fun.

Now it is time to jump in the shower and get moving. There is a waffle with my name on it calling.

Good morning gals! Glad to see Indiana is back home again now that must be a treat for her hope Jake gets some treats as well!

My treat might be having breakfast with a blood sugar # in my target range this morning yes! Plus I consider seeing a dove cooing on the deck rail when I got up and the squirrel was by the deck sliding glass door eating a nut a treat.

H. is fighting a cold so his treat may be delayed, around here you never know how ever! I did keep a couple of chocolate cake donut holes with sprinkles for this morning the rest dgson was happy to take off our hands for his sleep over after doing home work was part of his reward!

Getting ready to have open house has sort of stalled out it's pretty good floors need some attn.

I'm a slug. This is not good.

I'm going to run over and pick up the books from the library and drop off something I bought for my senior friend.

Then I need to get my act together and get some housework done.

I neglected to say that it was storming and rainy last night when the dog showed up and I'm thinking our Golden visitor didn't like the storms. S/he scratched to come in around 1 a.m. when we had another storm move through. DH turned it out of the garage this morning and closed it up, and s/he has apparently moved on or gone home. Definitely a wild night between thunder and the strange dog upsetting my dogs. This guy even bedded down in one of our crates.

At work - I slept until 9:30 this morning.

It feels so good to be home. I've been out of the house a lot this week but have kept on top of footprints pretty well this time. Wrote a quick On My Mind list earlier & will work on those odds & ends after some computer time.

I've enjoyed watching all the trees & flowers blooming; drove past a long row of beautiful pink cherry trees the other day & since no one was behind me I slowed way down so I could really enjoy the sight of them.

Next month I want to pick up where I left off on my attic project from last year. Truthfully, though, I don't want to because I've been up there a few times & am overwhelmed just thinking about diving back into it. The big table up there is covered again with Christmas misc (including two boxes of purged decorations), blankets, books, some stash & dash bags & who knows what else. I think I try so hard to maintain the main living areas that cleaning off that table every year has just become a normal routine. But I need a clear table to be able to deal with the rest of the attic clutter. Must remember babysteps.

I'm off to cuop from the last couple of days while I drink my tea. Waving ~~~~~ to everyone!

Not sure what my Saturday treat will be. DMother offered to take me out to lunch (it's my birthday), but I asked for a rain check. Sometimes - not often - she isn't thrilled with the menu at her assisted living, so we will check next week's menus & perhaps plan an outing.

Maybe my treat for today could be getting on top of the laundry. Actually that might be more like a miracle!

Lynlee, thanks for the explanation about your seasons. Makes more sense to me than the way we do it, but then no one asked me. I get the whole vernal equinox thing, but having the seasons change on the same day every year seems like a good thing!

Off to tackle the laundry baskets.

Good morning to all...
No treats in store for me today, I'm afraid...

I've got to s2s & get to the hospital to see about my dad. He had a pretty rough night, sounds like. May be TMI, but he said he had a lot of bloody diarrhea and was throwing up a lot in the night. Gastro-specialist is coming in to see him later today.
