I find myself frequently wishing I could press "Pause" when I heard something profound so i could ponder & soak it up. Do you have a way of capturing those things that you want to put into practice?

Yesterday was an awesome day but OH SO BUSY!! I was pleased how I moved from one activity to another almost as if I had "my act together" I don't, however I felt like I was getting a glimpse into how it must feel

Yesterday doings....
** stayed on schedule until noon which means....my personal care done, home cleaning done, 3 meals prep'd/ready to serve, LO lessons done, financial cards done,
** Picked up DGS16 and had "Special Time" with him. We went out to eat together, went shopping and bought him his dream cowboy boots, went swimming (indoor pool), sat at coffee place and talked....well, he talked almost nonstop for about 2 hours and I mostly just listened then we bought flowers, chicken noodle soup and applesauce and delivered them to his GF. She is recovering from having 2 molars pulled.
** Stopped by MPB on my way home to discover it was in critical need of hands-on. worked there for a couple hours before DParents stopped by to tell me they were headed to our home. So I finished up and went home to visit with them.
** DMom wanted to look at my vegetable garden and she was amazed at all the work I have done over the winter and how well everything is growing. then she sat at table looking through garden books (researching snap dragons) while I put beans on to cook in pressure cooker. DMom kept showing me pictures in the garden books and saying things like "this looks like your garden". DDad sat in their van outside pulled up next to DH while he was working on DDads JD riding mower for him. DDad will never be able to use his mower again, however he still enjoys seeing it being kept in tip-top condition. After DH finishes tweaking DDad's mower, we will put in back in its spot at DParents home so DDad will know "all is okay". DMom has been making phone calls trying to find a particular model of New Balance shoe and was frustrated. So I looked online and quickly found DMom's shoes, got them ordered while she looked over my shoulder. She was amazed how easy it is to find items online and have them shipped directly to door.....but she still refuses to have anything to do with computers.
I was pleased to welcome DParents into home with zero effort in straightening up. It wasn't perfect ....LO had toys scattered on the floor in the dining room and there was a few dishes in the sink but over all it looked great. I showed DMom LO bedroom and the decorations that will go on the wall and cornice board (after painting). She was very complimentary.

sounds like the break it down to managable bites .. then remember to get persistant about doing it.

Up and about here. Comcast hasn't called yet. Today is the day I must write for temple bullitin and I don't feel very creative.

Dd is still sleePing; DH and ds have left to get him back to school. This afternoon dd and I will meet dd's friend and she will go back w him.

Just remembered that I must throw onclothes and go to temple.

Got the blog with pictures of my carving up. I thought I took way more pictures - but they are not on the camera. But you can see what we did.

Looks like it will be a cloudy day. As long as the sun shines tomorrow, that is OK. I want to get back working on the yard tomorrow. If I trim up one tree, I can get the Rhino all over our yard and can move the agave I pulled out over to the trailer to cut up and haul away.

Time now to hit the shower and get ready for church. TTFN

PS: Talked to Indiana yesterday and she sounded very good. Everyone was surprised how fast she turned around once they got her meds adjusted. She has been catching up on the board and will post later. Jake was happy to be home.

OKay, yes it is a real help to be able to order online and get finished with a task. I like New Balance too, though my favorite is Skechers. Ree bok has probably lost me with recent news/scandal/lawsuits.

Snapdragons - such a beautiful flower shape. I especially love the look of a tall spiked flower among the other shapes. Delphiniums are beautiful because of their height, but as perennials they are harder to grow for me, so snaps get my attention for an annual garden! I remember that in the Alice and Jerry books the mother's flower garden was one of the best parts of the beautiful illustrations and it was filled with tall flower spikes.

Profound things - I have a quotation file inside my regular cardfile box. I can scribble bright quotes down quickly and tuck them in there.

I could make a li*t of things that I've over looked in prep. for the open house today but I won't.
I may think about it before the next one. But working out side yesterday was productive and
it looks good. We needed a break and went to see "War Horse" movie at the cheap theater last night and enjoyed it. Hubby's bday is in 2 days so taking time out for the movie was important.
Got the laundry progress I wanted yesterday as well.

So glad to see that Indiana is doing well and is home again.

Last night was a wonderful outing with Cowinkie and Sweetie. They always have the best places picked out to go. We all love Italian and there are many great places in the Valley of the Sun. We have one more outing and then it will be time for us to go home. We are outa' here next Sunday morning at 5 a.m. Back to rain, snow and cold for a few months. I will dream about December when we return.

Having woken up, dozed off, woken up, dozed off, then woken by the phone, I'm still trying to pull my brain cells together today. My BFF who was supposed to come over last Sunday to help me clean the house (or at least try to make some progress on it), had to cancel due to people not feeling well, and the roads being icky. It was her who called at 9am asking what time I wanted her over here today. I'd totally forgotten! She'll be here in about an hour, so I need to get dressed, deal with basic critter care, and have some breakfast. We'll probably work here for two or three hours, then go over to help DD for a while....she's in pretty much the same boat as I am, but also has two little ones to care for, so while she may be a SAHM, she's still learning how to organize her time to deal with all the different things that come up in a day.

This evening, the menfolk will be left to scrounge for their supper, while I'm out at the crafting get together. I can't be home too late, as I have to work again tomorrow, but it'll be nice to get out for a while.

Back from church.

Lot's of old favourite sounds at church today with the memorial hymn sing. People paid to have their favourite hymn sung. Most were dedicated to family members. Some were tough if you knew the back story - the children's hymn was All Things Bright and Beautiful and dedicated to a member's little boy who died, at 3, on dd's birthday. His picture is left up on the top of Kilimanjaro so all the mention of mountains in that hymn choked me up.

We are deliberately not singing at the second service and our musician didn't go over either so my music friend is completely on her own. My musician and I are dying to know how things went!

I raced home between service and coffee hour to record my friend's service. When we got home from coffee, it should have been the end of his service but the sermon was still going on. I'm looking forward to listening to the whole service to find out why he ran so far over. It is now ready to be burned to a CD for my senior friend. She loved the first one I did, especially the music - he is blessed to have a good organist and choir.

We are heading over to our musician's house for supper tonight, just because. I'm taking over my leftovers and she has hers and we'll throw something together between us.
