I'm going for 5 x 7 today - that is, 5 things outside of work duties by 7 p.m. Let's see if I can make it - some are as small as a phone call.

I'm with you Twins but mine are 5 x 2. It should be 5 x 12 or 1 but 2 is a safe time.

I have a couple of things in the background just in case I get the first 5 done.

It looks like Easter was enjoyable for everyone.

Jake and I watched the 2 geese that are out in the morning. He isn't sure what they are. They start on the side of the pond closest to us and take a shower under the fountains the exit the other side of the pond and walk toward our neighbors which is a gated community of million+ dollar homes.

They have this ritual every morning.

Good morning Indiana! And to all the SHEs who follow!

Today is Easter Monday here. It is a half&half holiday. Schools are shut (as they were on Good Friday), government is shut, but private industry is open unless they choose to give a holiday to their workers. If ds was working a shift, it isn't 1.5x pay. He's going in to work a few hours on the IT project he seconded to but that is out of choice, the others won't be there. Doctors' offices will be closed, stores are open (but were closed by law Friday and yesterday.)

I'll do a quick grocery run for a few things for dinner. Just 6 of us tonight but that will be nice. We'll have the turkey from the freezer and that will free up some room in there.

The problem with the fridge freezer got to the point where I had to de-ice it last night so that took 35 minutes. My sister kept asking why I didn't just buy a new fridge because I can afford one. Well, this one works. It just takes 30 - 45 minutes, twice a year, to de-ice. She pointed out it used more energy than a new one would but I pointed out that the embedded energy in a new one, plus the environmental effect of disposing of this one (especially when it is working fine except for icing up) were much more than using a bit of extra energy.

I'm going to research how to disconnect the frost-free feature and see if that makes a difference. Regular clearing of the frost in the freezer would be easier than trying to clear the ice out of a tiny tube running down the back, bottom, edge of the freezer. To get to it, I have to use tools and take stuff out. To do a manual defrost, I'd just have to empty the freezer itself.

I had a long day yesterday so went to bed early and slept in until 7:45. I turned off the light timer in the bedroom so dh wouldn't wake up and told him to make sure he let me sleep. He's on the exercise bike now, my sister is still in her room, so I got my devotions done (and caught up on the weekend days I missed.) Since my devotions were all focused on the Holy Week story, plus I was attending Holy Week services, I'm looking forward to reading something different starting tomorrow.

I managed to record all but 10 minutes of my friend's service and listened to that before bed. I also noted, while recording, that they do a video feed of the service. I might watch that next week 'live' rather than just listen. I'll see how my Sunday is going.

Good Morning!

I have been on my pathway of choice this morning (62 cards completed) with just a few detours. Not particularly noteworthy but never-the-less they happened this morning
** LO has a new "style" of his own. Although I'm sure others have used this particular style, I'm fairly sure it never caught on. LO has decided he needs to wear a clip on tie with his t-shirts and polo shirts. Yesterday morning he started out in a blazer, tie and button down white shirt.....but it didn't take long for him to ditch the blazer and tie. Then the white shirt which had been tucked all nice-N-neat in his pants quickly followed. By the end of the day he had a traded the white button down shirt for a t-shirt but added the tie back in. This morning I put a polo type shirt on him and he immediately went to his closet and got the clip on tie to wear with it. He is making the rounds this morning with DH and I'm sure he will get plenty of feed-back from his many mentors about his new style.
** Buddy (great pyrenees/mutt puppy) had an accident in the house. When a dog his size has an accident it stinks up the entire house.....not to mention the effort required to get it all cleaned up. yuck-o!

Indiana you asked why no soy; it limits the absorption of my thyroid meds. lots of foods have soy in them.

Yesterday we enjoyed the church we visited and were surprised to hear that the pastor was leaving to start his own church; and in 2-4 weeks the church will have a new [in the mean time] pastor and doing one service until they can get a permanent one. Yea! We will be back! Love the idea of one service again. Lovely building that they could not afford to keep up so the 4 square assoc. that they got the loan from is taking it over. The other guy had a great band and his concept was to have these teachings from other pastors on a big screen not live preaching. So we I'm encouraged about the possibilities. The pastors board band etc. will be going don't know who will be staying. I saw a couple of friends there they did not know where they were going to go yet.

I have granny duty today in a bit and on Wed. all day. I need to get my regular insulin Tues. as it's getting low.

Did you hear Thomas Kincade died this weekend only 54 that seems awfully young to me.

I was up early (for me) and I'll add to the Sat. conversation about early to rise etc., that I think one's own internal clock has something to do with it also. We can change habits, but the fact that one drifts back to a certain "style" of rising, seems to validate that we all have some sort of mechanical clock inside. I'm sure some of that has to do with our activity (when) and when we eat and how long that takes to digest, etc.

I hope Cowinkie recovers quickly from her ear & sinus infection.

Kathryn, happy to see you were pleased with your sunrise service.

Saturday I took DGKs down to their easter hunt and we stayed a long while and watched. Then we came back and worked on the shower door some more, and when DD came back with the kids she helped with that a bit also. After dinner DD went out with her GF and I had the kids to manage again, and by the time she was back I was pretty exhausted. I simply cannot do as much as I used to.

Easter service was wonderful. Our church has a big community service (2 of them actually) in a community spot and it's contemporary but they did tone down the music and it was less wild than normal, with appropriate words for the holiday. One beautiful song had me in tears. DD had gone the other direction to be with her inlaws and continue on to her home. Friends at church invited us to stop for a meal which we did and it was wonderful. After all the meals and waiting on people it was nice to sit and be waited on a bit.

I did help with the deviled eggs and clearing of the table, but she didn't want/need any other help. The adult fellowship was also wonderful.

I am ready to get back to normal around here. I am working on clearing my desk, and have had breakfast. DH picked up a cardinal laying in the yard. It was alive but allowed him to carry it in his hands and put it in a "nest" in the garage entrance. Its partner was squaking nearby, and sadly this bird was stiff next we looked so we have buried. It didn't appear hurt or sick, but something must have happened. It was a beautiful bright red female.

Nancy, I just Googled T. Kin. and find he had financial and personal challenges in his life and there is a great deal of controversy out there now. But, he created some beauty in a world often portrayed in a not-so-beautiful way. I have a friend who has many of his reproductions in her home. He was young, yes it is shocking.

Have gotten in two of my five: Email to the temple regarding dues stmts going out, and left phone message for invisible fence guy - we need batteries for dog collars....

I have 4 out of 5 accomplished.

1. phone call
The phone call is about a machine that my ex Pulmonologist had me get. I didn't pass the test for it - a PAP machine so he said he needed to find a company that would still be able to put it through insurance. I was so sick at the time that when the oxygen company delivered it was a private pay (me) for $800.00. I have never used the blessed machine. I don't need the machine. I don't want the machine.

The company says I need to pay for it and I'm saying take it back. They have offered me a deal. I can settle for $500.00 and return the machine. I don't think that is a good deal. They can resell it for $800.00. So they will end up with $1,300.00 for a $500.00 machine with a $300.00 markup.

I am saying that I'm on social security disability - medicare and don't have $500.00 just laying around. I want them to take it back.

2. Jake's morning training on crate and muzzle. It went well.

3. added a few more email addresses to gmail for SOs members. This is going slow because I was so far behind.

4. talked to maintenance about an incident Friday. I heard alarms going off at 6 am in the fire closet in the garage and reported it to security. His response was it is a scheduled maintenance alarm. That didn't sound right. I kept hearing the alarm when we sent for Jake's walk. Finally at 2 pm I called the concierge and asked if maintenance knew about it. They didn't security hadn't reported it.

I did what I should have done except I think I should have checked earlier to see if maintenance knew. As he said it isn't my responsibility but to keep reporting things when I know they aren't right.

One more task and I will be done for the day. I will go back and do some more emails in gmail since I'm doing fine on time.

Just heard from our home buyer. They want a closing date of May 25, so that their buyer can buy theirs by May 15. We had all tentatively agreed on that date because of our trip. They offered to take care of both lawns while we are gone. I thought that was nice, although I don't want them taking care of this one but they can be my guest and do their future lawn. So that means I still have about 5 more times to mow both. I will be so glad when we can concentrate our energies on this property, inside and out.

We had a wonderful evening with the girls and their families. When the oldest 3 grandkids were younger, after they had had their Easter egg hunt, they would then hide them and make their moms and I find them. Last night dgs6 and dgd2 thought they had came up with an original idea and hid the eggs for us to find. Dgs8 decided he was too old to hunt for eggs. Everyone liked their pjs. Dgd2 had me cut off the tags of her 2 brothers, her baby sister and hers. She wasn't happy until the 4 of them had them on.

Indiana, that is ridiculous that they expect you to pay for a machine you haven't used. I hope you can get it worked out.
