Conga Friday

Post by Harriet »

It's Conga Friday! What are you dancing through today?

Jump in,
hang on tight!
We're circling the house*
with and swish and a swipe!

(and to a Conga beat...)

Da Da Dee Da Da ... swish!
Da Da Dee Da Da ... swipe!

*(or circling the desk, or circling the neighborhood, or insert project here!)

Goooooood morning, everyone. Did you take the advice of the link last night to the Sesame Street "Everybody Sleeps" animals and children? Love that little video and sweet music. There were 2 versions, both great. Anyway, I hope you're well rested.

I still need to S2S (shower to shoes). The schedule we have now doesn't allow it early.

My household Conga today will be vacuuming the front rooms and spiffing the master bath.

Otherwise my 5 x 5
Exercise
Declutter in closet
Respond to school email
Get the parent acct set up for school online resource
Take arm cover to fabric store and try to find a blending fabric

Good Morning!

Harriet - thank you for the great start for today.

I'm off schedule this morning. I am S2S with sweet smelling hair. Our cricket & grasshopper numbers are dropping so I am back to wearing skirts instead of jeans. In the past 4 days, I did see one cricket jump underneath my skirt and I wasn't able to find it.....so it must have jumped out the back side.

PODA -
** 3 meals cooked/served
B - Breakfast burritos
L - Chicken tacos, refried beans, rice. Sliced apple
S - Beef brisket with BBQ side, mashed potatoes, green beans, squash, green salad.
** Lo delivered to/pick up from school
** Volunteer at clothes closet
** MPB chores
** FNG at VDFriends home
** paperwork project if my brain is able

Good morning! What a cute link last night, Harriet!

Dinner guests were here until about 10 pm last night; dfriends S and R were here until 10:30, but they're like family.

It is drizzly today, which is probably good for our plants. I am up, s2s-ed, and drinking tea. Everyone is out. I'll be leaving in about 50 minutes for some errands: WW, bank, maybe Target -- I don't have a huge or pressing Target list. Maybe I'll skip.

I'll post 6x6:
1. a.m. routine - can I count that?
2. errands: WW - 9:30 and bank
3. living areas tidy
4. folders organization done: create Heb binder, organize moms group folder for this year
5. 1 - meet for coffee w/ dh and a friend in one of our small groups who is going through a hard time; dh has much better counseling skills than I do.
6. exercise; cool drizzly days are perfect for jogging!

I might get to some other things on my list, like some DPCs.

Dd16's small group will be here 3:45 - 5:45, so I will have a house full of teenage girls late this afternoon.

Off to that a.m. routine!

I'm waking up here. So is ds. He set an alarm for 9:30 just in case but only slept until now. I woke up at 6:30 and promptly fell back asleep until 8:20.

Ds plans to leave no later than 11. I'd like him to leave earlier so that he can avoid driving through Canada's largest city during rush hour on a Friday.

The sleeping video was cute! Thank you Harriet!

OK, is there something special to your sweet smelling hair -- or is it just clean? Mmmmm..... I want to eat at your house today. :D

Thanks for the cheerful conga start, Harriet.

Ah, Kathryn is here. Good morning kathryn!

Home and exhausted!!! Long night.

I finally called the insurance company and took DFS19 off and put DS19 on, hadn't been rushed about it because I thought it would be a wash but it turns out that somehow the Insurance company knew that DS19 is a much calmer and better behaved kiddo then DFS19. It dropped $225 every 6 months which is half of what it increased when I added DFS19. things that make you go Hmmmmm. I have USAA (only available to service members, prior service members, and dependents) and so does DFS19's DDad which is why I was able to add him... also why they probably knew more about his driving record then I did. DFS19 has a serious problem with lying so I'm not really surprised. Oh and for those of you wondering, DS19 had moved to Alaska with my DMother (lasted 3 months  ) so I had taken him off before I added DFS19.

Harriet - Conga for me please...

Okay - May I have some too please?

Helia - What is a DPC?

Kathryn - DS19 was up when I got home  must be something in the air... he never gets up early!

Heading to bed... catch ya'll later.

It rained all night and we will be parking on grass so we are waiting a bit for it to dry before we go into the fairgrounds. I also need to wash one window that is all streaky.

It is cold this morning - only 54 outside. Haven't seen these temps for a long time. Think I will have to get under the bed and find my sweatshirts. Might even have to go to Wally and get another pair of Levis as I only have one good pair now and I wore them most of the week. (Either that or long underwear under my cargo shorts :o )

MT - I like your style! :) It is cool and rainy here today too. This morning I grabbed one of LO two sweat pants and found a hole in them! Shopping is definitely moving up the priority list here.

Hair is sweet smelling because it is freshly washed. Because LO washes his own hair now, I usually smell his hair after he finishes to congratulate him on using shampoo and doing such a good job of it (he doesn't like shampoo). He has started smelling my hair now and telling how good it smells. My hair is long (almost to waist) and only needs washing a couple times a week when it was short I washed it most every day.
