I woke up once in the night for about 50 minutes and then again after I'd been in bed 8 hours. The bed here is very hard which is ok for me but dh is finding it difficult. I'm fine for about 8 hours and then my back wants me to get up. I did lie in for another 90 minutes so dh would get some more rest.

Our heater is now covered with clothes since things didn't dry as thoroughly last night as this morning.

His suitcase came in overnight but things got confusing on the website. The site claims it will arrive on AC626 on October 20. Flight 626 leaves Toronto at 11:45 pm (23:45) and won't arrive until 2 a.m. Sunday. But my question was why it wouldn't be on an earlier flight. Turns out, they meant it will arrive on the AC626 that arrives today, so the suitcase is now here in Halifax. The next question was when should we expect it. The agent assured dh the delivery company ran 24/7. In that case, why don't we have the bag now, it has been in town for 6 hours? Turns out, the last pickup of the day is at midnight so it wasn't picked up until this morning. In theory it should be here some time this morning. Air Canada now claims it is in the hands of the delivery company so they can't track it any more.

The hotel knows to ring us when the suitcase arrives.

It is a grey day here so we're not sure what we'll do. I have to visit at some point this morning, then dinner at night and a nap in between. Aside from that, we have no planes. Maybe I'll just ride the ferry all day!

Slight progress, we've s2s. Dh is at the restaurant around the corner getting his full English breakfast and I've just had my cereal (I bought a box of mini wheats because the cereal on the breakfast bar is not healthy.) Still to have, berries leftover from last night, an apple and a glass of juice.

Update suitcase is now in our room! Dh is back and unpacking now. And putting on a fresh shirt and trousers.

Kathryn, so glad to hear that your dh and his suitcase have been reunited.

Sitting here with color on my hair. After my shower I need to paint my toenails. It's suppose to be 80's all weekend and if I am in sandals, I want color on my nails.

I am up and sipping tea, have let the dog out and back in.

Lily desperately wants to go outside, but we're going to keep her inside. I was never keen on her going outside at all in the first place, though I must say, she does pretty well (not perfectly however) staying on our property. Still, this is the 2nd time she has been sick/hurt from outside influences this year. She has a wound on the back base of her tail which the vet said was infected; she was running a slight fever when he saw her yesterday and is also slightly underweight. He thinks it is possible it is a bite wound as she was running away from. . . . another cat? There are other possibilities too, lots of wild animals in this neighborhood. SO, he shaved the area, cleaned it up, gave her an injection of antibiotics, and gave me some oral antibiotics to give to her over the next week. I hope that goes OK. . . .The wound looks so much better this morning and she is acting more lively too.

-bday cards in the mail for dh's 2 younger sisters whose bdays were last week (they are twins). Dh has 3 older sisters too. . . . Random funny fact: my younger dbro. has the same bday as dh's younger sisters, so all our younger siblings share a birthday! His card and gift are ready to go. With my teaching last week, I let some things fall through the cracks.
-groc. store run - minimal items to buy
-make sure dd14 has bday gift for party tonight
-make sure dd17 and ds have directions on where to drop off/pick up dd14; ds is going to sleep here tonight to keep dd17 company. I'm so glad he's willing to help out this way. Originally, the girls were going to come with us to Detroit tonight, but then dd14 got invited to this bday sleepover party and dd17 did not want to go alone. This means we don't have to drive Pepper over to dfriends' home in neighboring town! Ds and dd17 can take care of her.
-dd14 has a haircut appt. at 2;15
-Hebrew progress, if possible
-pack
-drive to Detroit
-pick up race packet
-meet friends for dinner at a recommended restaurant; don't eat too much
-hotel - to bed early. Dh's half marathon starts at 7 a.m. My 5K starts at 7:25

Good morning, albeit quite late here from the NY front. We went out to dinner with friends last night and to see the 'colors' (of which there was little -past their prime). Had a wonderful dinner. Then they wanted to come back by the casino. So went there for a little while. Was very foggy when we came home -did not like that ride thinking about all the deer. Didn't happen to see any but know they were there! Think the outing was a tad much for me yet -as I seemed to relapse some during the night. I'm not even dressed yet and it's nearly 10am.

We have to go out tonight for "200 Club" at the fire department. There's a buffet dinner and prizes and drawings throughout the evening. DH already has proclaimed a nap for me this afternoon. I'm sure we'll be home earlier than last night. I want to be able to go to church tomorrow so really need to feel 'good'.We only have this week and next.

Going to just putter today -though this place looks "sent for" (and it's not ready to GO yet! ) Since I'm doing a 'laid back' day, think I'll just stay in my PJ's until it's time to get dressed for this evening. We have to leave here a little after 5:30. Watch -today will be the day that I have a bunch of people coming to the door! Wouldn't be horribly surprised as this campground is hopping with people today -winterizing and closing up for the season. It's fairly nice out right now -partly sunny and about 55. So I'm sure people are trying to beat any rain and cooler temps again. We did hear yesterday that a few people are coming in to camp next weekend for 1 last hurrah (permanents). I don't think that will deter dcampowner from turning off the water though. He probably will tell them -"fill your holding tanks".

Good Morning!

L-o-n-g night. I slept fine in between getting up/down with LO about a dozen times through the night. I'm hoping today his antibodies will kick in today enough for him to start feeling better......and sleep better

No plans for today. My biggest hope for the day is that LO feels good enough to return to his normal busy self ***GASP**** Did I really wish for that?? He is much easier to watch when he sits still watching TV.....but it just isn't normal for him to not be doing & talking all the time. It is suppose to be a beautiful day! Sunny and in the 80's with wind <15mph. i'm really looking forward to mild wind speed after the high winds and dust storms we have had recently (winds over 55mph!).

Helia - I'm excited for you and DH doing the full/half marathons! BWTG!!

Kathryn - I'm enjoying hearing about your trip.

Dee - take care. I hope a rest day will help you feel better.

I miss Nancy posting. ((((Nancy)))) I hope her pc woes are soon over and/or she can CI from library.

OK, thank you for your excitement! I'm a little excited and a little nervous. Just to set the record straight - neither of us is doing the full marathon. Dh is doing the half and I'm doing 5K, which is 3.1 miles.

((LO)), yes, I hope the antibiotics start working soon. I understand wanting your child to be back to their regular self, even if their regular self means more work for you!!

A laid back day sounds great, Dee! I hope it truly can be laid back.

I have spent time finding and printing out maps and directions - to the expo center, to the restaurant, to the hotel. We do have a GPS, but I still like the larger context a map brings. . . . Believe it or not, we have never been to downtown Detroit. We've lived here (about 45 miles from Detroit) now for 11 years. Then dh and I got into a big argument. But we got over it.

Off to finally s2s and get some things done.

Noon!

I know this because the noon gun just fired at the Citadel. One of the things I love about staying by the harbour. Haven't heard a fog horn yet. I suppose I shouldn't complain since that means the weather hasn't been too bad.

Lovely warm day again, threatening rain but not just yet. Will drag dh out for a walk in few minutes.

Visited with Unc. The flowers had arrived and he had his morning coffee buddy there so I was 'fresh blood' to their conversation. Then another neighbour arrived bearing the 100th Birthday certificates from the Premier, Lieutenant Government and Prime Minister. The greetings from the Queen and Governor General are to follow. I had my camera so got photos of her reading them to him and then took pictures of the certificates themselves. I'll go out today and get a photo album of some sort to put those in, plus photos I take and his birthday cards (there's a huge stack.) I told him I felt bad about not bringing a card but he said bringing myself was the best gift.
