Friday Fun

Post by scattered »

I hope that all of you have fun this Friday.

OKay - I hope you got the plumbing fixed and I hope you have a safe trip.

Kathryn & (((DS))) - I hope DS is ok and that you don't come down with it.

I am off to work a 12 hour shift at least. Need to also finish my yearly re-orientation when I get done on the floor. I hate working 1 on 1 off, but that is what I'm doing this weekend. I will be off tomorrow and then have to be back Sunday.

At least the house is very tidy... not really clean to my standards but it is tidy. Never did get the laundry going yesterday so that will be at the top of my list tomorrow.

See ya'll later, have a great day.

What a long day for you, scattered! I hope all goes well.

Up and about here and have walked ddogs; dh is off to work for at least half the day because the market's open until 1 p.m.

I am heading downtown to meet with rabbi - the meeting I was supposed to have on Wednesday. Yesterday we saw Lincoln - very, very good - and went to a friend's last night for dessert and visiting. He had a lot of people over so I'm a little socialized out today.

Tonight dh and I will go to temple - special Thanksgiving interfaith service tonight. Not sure about the rest of the day and in between - I am certainly not shopping!

Good Morning!

The eastern sky is just starting to change colors as sunrise approaches. Sipping coffee while doing Bible study. Mmmmmh - my favorite time of the day

The washrag is still stuck in our drainage system. Apparently it hasn't reached the kitchen area yet because the sink still drains fine. The cmdes work okay too. Our home isn't the typical sewer set up. We have grey water going to pasture on west side of the house while the cmdes go to septic tank system on the east side. The wash rag is stuck in the grey water drainage pipes. Hum.....there is NO WAY we are cancelling or delaying our trip so it is going to be 3 days (at least) before we will be able to get a plumber here. In the grand scheme of things - this is minor. We will solve it next week. In the meantime, bathing can be accomplished at other places. The laundry is completely caught up except for the clothes we wore yesterday so it can be ignored for several days.

(((OKay household)))

Kathryn, thinking of you and ds with decisions and research into mono.

Twins' Mom, enjoy the Interfaith service.

Yikes, I was reading Nancy's evening post and remembered we were also considering deviled eggs for tonight. Sigh. Where will the time come from... ...

Parade of Daily Adventures

at 10:00 be present as Honeybaked opens
at 2:00 funeral of my ddad's 1st cousin
at 5:00 try to get my ddad's supper done
at 5:30 I'd expect dstepdil w/dsgd for her cooking
at 6:00 I'd expect ten others

In the midst, other shopping, bathroom cleaning, OH lightbulbs, other cooking.

Skipped the treadmill this morning and hit the phones. My GP isn't in today so I phoned the specialist. He's in surgery all day today but I left a message with his nurse. Hopefully, I'll hear back soon.

I've stripped and remade the bed so something is done today.

TOM arrived. So that explains my emotions yesterday and the day before (especially the crying fit I had after dh described a scene in a movie to me - he was flabbergasted that I reacted the way I did!) No warning headache which is a good thing, I guess, although without a clue when my next TOM will be, the headache is a nice heads-up.

Our evening tonight with the Anglican priest and her dh has been cancelled. He had a busy week and will have to work late tonight but dh already was wondering if we should cancel if ds was here.

Edited to add: Gotta love my specialist and his team. The nurse emailed him, he checked emails between procedures and gave me the all-clear so I've called ds and told him he can come home.

Good meeting with the rabbi this morning and then I went to W hole F oods. I think I've said before that ours started as a locally owned organic/gourmet store which was purchased by Whole Foods. They're just now completing the change over, and I had gotten out of the habit of going since we moved so it was an interesting walk through. I needed my "Ultimate Omega" supplement, and wanted arborio rice to try a risotto.

K in C my TOM was this week too made for some interesting moods yesterday!

Harriet I did the deviled eggs in small segments of time during the TV commercials as we watched The Blind Side.

S2s is done. Chickens have been fed I've made the bed and journaling is done. Breakfast is over h. is at work. I've got the hand wash done yea! So it's on to some fun now! Dgd will be here in a while. We will cut up a squash or pumpkin and clean it out de-seeding it for baking that will be fun for her.

Then there are some holiday things to put up like get out the calico bears, put up the Christmas wreath & creche that's fun to think about now that the TV is working down stairs where it goes above the entertainment center.

Got the bathrooms cleaned (more of a swish since I'm on top of it most weeks) and then moved everything I might need from the spare bedroom. Also rearranged the furniture slightly so that I could put in a bedside table on the left hand side of the bed (there's one on the right hand side but that's furthest from the door and ds sleeps on the left side.) Put a bell in there for him too.

Next challenge will be kitchen weekly chores. If I rush, I might get everything done that I want to do today (I really want to get the kitchen floor hand scrubbed and have wanted to do so for 4 days.)

Must be a lot of villagers out shopping today! I just had a nap, and dd and I have been hanging out. We started challah in the breadmaker earlier and one of us apparently did something wrong, as it's come out very very wet and with a weird texture. I shaped it into something of a loaf and we're seeing if it rises. :?

-empty dishwasher
-clear & wipe down kitchen counters
-get the mail
-reboot laundry
-gather books from garage that are to go temple, box, and put in my car

I'll continue working til the TOTH, anyone else wanna go with me?

Good Morning, Villagers! :D

I feel so very tired this a.m. and it was only DH and me for Thanksgiving at our house. I'm thinking how tired I'd have been if we'd traveled to celebrate or had company. I feel like I've got a cold, feel awful, am stiff, and so exhausted. I hope this coffee helps wake me up! :!: :)

Kathryn, I need to do a swish, too, in the bathrooms. Good luck on the kitchen weekly chores, too.

I hope you'll heard from your GP soon, too. (At first I thought you were talking about GPS) So it didn't make sense. (Drink more coffee, Ivy. Drink more coffee!)

Nancy, What do you mean by K in C your TOM was this week made for some interesting moods yesterday? :?: I am still sipping on coffee. Are you talking about the triptiphan in the turkey making everyone sleepy? And relaxed?

Twins' Mom, Glad the meeting went well this morning. I've never heard of "Ultimate Omega", but it sounds like a GR8 one to take! :!: :)

Heard "Lincoln" was very good! :D

I enjoy interfaith services. :)

Harriet, You have quite the day full of adventures. Wow! I'll be thinking of you! :!: :D

OKay, Sorry a washrag is stuck in your drainage system! Oh, brother! :!:  It's good they can solve the problem next week. I'm glad your laundry's caught up, too. You can always catch up later after the washrag is fixed and a plumber's come.

Scattered, Friday Fun is the perfect title for today! :!: :D

I have some PODA planned, but I don't know if it'll get done.
- Feed Bert & Ernie flannel sheets
- Do a laundry catch-up
- Do swishes
- Do titles, plots, and outlines today for work.
- Try to walk 1/2 hour.
- Write some letters.
- Get started on another beret.

I don't feel 100% this a.m. I don't know if I've got a cold, but have been taking Children's Elixir in the evening for 2 nights, will need it this morning, but am so THANKFUL the house is tidied up! :) I don't need to be worried about that, no company's coming and DH said he'll mail a mailer with DD-40's beret and her BFriend's striped beanie slouch hat in it today. I'm so grateful because she will probably get it on Monday; possibly on Sat. :)

It's so stormy out! :o Dark dreary depressing clouds, heavy rains and high winds. This is why I don't want to "really" do laundry. What if the power were to go out? :o I might wait until the winds die down and I've taken my medicine, had my shower and maybe feel better. I'll work on plotting, doing outlines and catchy titles on and off today. I can do it while I recline in the great room, next to DH and his football games.

TA DA:
I read my devotion, Novena, The Lord's Prayer, and prayed for others and myself.
I wrote in my journal.
Am having coffee. ;)

Have a Fun Friday, Everybody!
