Sling it Saturday

Post by scattered »

What can you sling today? Declutter something!

I may or may not have time to sling something today but thought it was a great name for this morning. Everyone is up this morning, DS13 has try-outs for District Band and DS20 has to take him because I have reserves this morning.

I just turned Bert on to fluff the clothes in there because that is where my uniform remains. :?

fill to-go cups

I'm up this morning because we will have friends move in again around 8. Also have pancake breakfast at 8.

Trying to figure out a way to do envelopes without labels last night and realized we could do it the way everyone else does - with a pen. sheesh. Too much of a techie here.

Next up is to get the veggies ready for soup. Found some ham hocks and beans at the store yesterday and decided that would be good while we were out today. We will be going to a Cowboy Poetry even in Wick. Never been to one before so we will see how it goes.

Sling it! I love it, was thinking of heading into dd's room again...I'd like to get ahead of it before she comes home next week.

DH is going to Atlanta to get ds set up w clothes for a presentation on Monday. I had hoped that we could combine trips tomorrow and I could see about dsis but he seemed oblivious to that suggestion so he's off on his own - going to Torah study first, however.

So I have a day at home by myself - let's hope I don't waste it!

Thank you, bw2!

Good Morning!

MT - I find myself doing that also. Techie solutions seem so interesting and challenging that sometimes I forget the analog way is sometimes quicker and I need to just get 'er done!

I will pick up DGS17 and his GF in less than an hour. They are going to "help" LO build a wood gingerbread house project. As LO has become older, he is more independent and wants to do it himself. Thankfully Lowe's has a good supply of hammers & nails so everyone can be pounding at the same time. :)

I've jotted down several things to do today with DGKids, however I doubt if we can do it all today. Time available and their attitude will dictate how much of it we will get done.
** Make/cook Build a mountain....aka nacho supreme
** Attend local town Christmas festival (bands/street dancing, parade, kid pageant, etc)
** Put up Christmas lights outside
** go for yearly outing together at special BBQ place
** go to old time movie theater (2 hours driving)
** Go for horse/carriage ride & camel ride through park with millions of lights

Mike has been asking me to "organize" a specific problem area in our home for a long time now...

I have tried every possible way of avoiding it. Today has dawned with no possibility of further avoidance. Not even laundry because I did that last week.

Pout.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

What a fun day you have planned with dgkids, OK!! What a blessing you are to them, I'm sure. :)
I like your dejunking plan, blessed.
*Grinning* at Dee's techie woes and solution.
Happy Hanukkah, Twins!
Have a great day at reserves, scattered. Good luck to ds13! I hope he makes it!
Go for it, Cathy!!

Well, it is after 10 and I am up, s2slippers, sipping coffee - a change from tea. One of dd17's friends has been picked up already. Only 2 friends slept over last night, but the 3 of them together sure generated a LOT of noise and energy.

I REALLY need to deadhead my flower gardens, but the weather is kind of damp and drippy today. It would only take me about an hour. . .

Goals:
-laundry catch up
-tree of hope gifts wrapped and delivered to dfriend's house
-take stock of where I'm at w/ Cmas shopping
-progress on Cmas shopping
-finish going through my stuff from the attic, still sitting in piles in the computer room
-meet dfriends downtown for dinner and then a concert tonight

Thanks for the ideas and suggestions on home work help.
We could call the other thread "Home Work Help"?

Today I'm up had breakfast and am thinking of getting the crock pot going cooking some stuff up today here. The mom cave aka sewing room is calling. Temps have dropped quite a bit here for this weekend.
