Friday Errands

Post by BookSaver »

Good morning, villagers ~

Must run some misc. errands today. The usual round in Tiny Town of post office, library, library group's bank deposit. A hardware store is going out of business in The Big City and I'm hoping they'll have a good deal on a bathroom faucet. There's a Goodwill store in the same neighborhood. We need a few groceries. DH likes my idea for a gift for DMIL so now I have to try to find it.

Two groups have asked for blocks of volunteer time this weekend, but I have decided to focus on home and family instead.

Only 2 weekends left until Christmas!

I'll be doing some errands tonight, too, BookSaver! DH said we'd do some Christmas shopping again -- meaning I will shop while he waits in the car, LOL... and then we'll go to a movie.

I sorted through my gifts again last night and re-organized my shopping list. Except for being at a total loss re: dbro, I am in pretty good shape! Now to WRAP all that stuff.

Well... I'm already running late!!! Gotta go!!! Y'all have a great day!
Tomorrow is another day.

Good Morning!

Errands are near the top of our to-do's today.

** to lawyer office to review/sign yearly guardianship status report (Thinking of Twins and assuming her state has similar requirements)
** to Sal Army to drop of donation check (from church)
** Sam/WM run to purchase this weekend needs (DGD1 will be celebrating her 2nd birthday at our home)

I'm awake. That's it.

My knee went out in a new way last night so I avoided the treadmill this morning. Not sure what happened. I was at the party and fine, walked home from it and was fine, took off my boots and turned to walk and had shooting pain when I tried to put weight on my knee. It went away while I was posting last night but came. Was fine first thing this morning but I get occasional twinges that scare me.

A hospital errand is my focus for the day. Since my job is to wait while my friend has her appointment, I'll take devotions and invitations to work on.

I've stripped and remade the bed (moving very carefully) and s2s so far. Am having tea and chocolate. Was over an hour short on sleep last night and am feeling it big-time today.

I have to wrap the angel gift and I'm hoping to get kitchen or bathroom chores done before we leave in less than 2 hours. I'll nap when we get home and have a quiet evening.

Books - Perfect title for me, I have to run to errands also.

Lucylee - Sounds like DH does my kind of shopping (I hate shopping)

OKay - Sounds like a fun weekend with DGD1

Kathryn - be careful with that knee, don't forget RICE (Rest, Ice, Compression {ace wrap or sleeve, but not to tight}, Elevation).

I went to bed around 1am and woke up when I heard DS13 leave for school around 8am but managed to roll over and get another hour of sleep. Need to d2s and get out of her here shortly. I need to run by the College and drop off appeal paperwork, and then run by WM to pick-up some zippers. I need to double check my kitchen and the recipe for Shepperd's Pie; I have to make and authentic one for DS13's school this evening.

Just got an email from my new boss, detailing how much per mile I will be getting and how she wants to work my schedule. I am going to actually be working out of two offices so I will be splitting my time. She asked when I wanted to start, I asked if I could just do must see visits next week and then start full-time on the 26th. 8-)

Ugh, really need to get my poop in a group and get going.

ToDo/TaDa's
:D coffee
d2s
check recipe
pull-out meat to thaw
check kitchen supplies
college to drop off appeal :(
WM
Home to start running
Reboot B&E w(/) d() f() p/a()
put in zipper
sew together Mother's Jacket
Cut out fleece (may or may not get to this today)
Make MP
Make Shepperd's Pie
DS13's school function (international dinner)
Decorate tree

Scattered: the knee is more of a pinched nerve pain than a torn muscle. I have lower back disc issues and every once in a while my knee will itch badly. Straightening my back makes the itch go away. So, unless there had been a recent slip on ice or a time when I turned my body quickly and my lower leg was slow to follow, I figure anything weird like this this has something to do with my back. Partly because it is coming and going, fine one moment, starting to hurt the next.

On the other hand, I am doing rest, will do elevation when I get the chance and will take a tensor bandage with me in case it gets really bad. At this point it is fine (because it is coming and going so much - I breathe, stretch and then carry on fine when it bothers me.)

Footwear is my biggest issue for today. I'll need boots outside but my boots are hard on my back so I'll be sore walking inside. I was in my boots a lot yesterday and little slippers at the party last night so that's why I'm trying to decide what to do about footwear today.

feel better d kathryn

1 basket emptied from 3 season room (put away)

I am constantly putting away things - I toss it in a basket to go upstairs etc. and I feel like I always have a basket building in each room - upstairs downstairs girls bedrooms, things in the car to put away.

how do you handle that type of clutter? - I feel like I am doing it the hard way

It is still drippy but there is no rain right now. We heard a bit during the night but the computer says only .001 inches. Back in the Midwest we wouldn't even count that and just say a trace.

The clouds are hanging on the tops of the mountain that I can see out this window. The mountain is black (means that it is wet) and the clouds are white so it looks kinda cool.

I played all day yesterday reading and listening to music so today I really have to get going if I want to meet my goals. (Wouldn't you know - one of my friends has a new book out on Kindle and I want to read it!!! :( ) So, I'm going to copy scattered today and do a todo/tada list:

TODO
Breakfast
Meds
Breakfast
S2Sox
Den Closet - 1
Sort thru 2 boxes
Restack boxes
Re do top shelf
Den Floor
Sort/throw/file papers
Clean off sewing table
Pin binding on pillow

TADA
:D Cut DH's hair
:D Checked BS
:D Cuppa tea

Back from errands.

Blessed - I try to follow the "2 minute rule". If an item/task can be completed in 2 minutes or less - then do it to completion immediately. If an item can be put where it belongs in less than 2 minutes then I try to immediately do it. Notice I said "I Try"......I'm not perfect at this and it was hard habit to start because there is SO MUCH TO DO. However as things get put where they belong, it is getting easier.
