Today is the last day of January.
I had an aim for the month ... and still have almost 2 hours to see if I can make some token efforts in that direction.

Thursday - the last day in January
Just begin.
Living this day, today
Take a reality check; Remember to breathe; Do what I am able to do.
Look for the good in all.

LynLee - Good Morning and thank you for the quotes.
I slept through the night, went to bed around 9:00 and only hit the snooze bar once. We had a horrible storm come through last night, the news is reporting trees down around the city, and my alarm was blinking, but the back-up battery obviously worked.
I have an hour drive to get to my first patient this morning and will be driving all over, in fact I have to go to the far edge of our area today. After work tonight I have class.
I am still tired and can't wait until Sunday.
Today's ToDo's
SDR & GRWR
Work

Have a great day villagers!

Safe driving wishes for you scattered.
I spent 30 min making a difference around here - trying to be able to tick off lots in my January check list - though now I think about it - this week continues until Monday - so maybe I 'll see if I can check some more things again - theres lots of potential.
pot of camomile tea and bbr await. goodnight.

Slow start for me today... need to be in the shower -- well, in a perfect world, I would already be OUT of the shower by now -- but I just couldn't get going this morning w/out my caffeine. Wish I could crawl back into bed.
Hope the roads are clear and safe for you, scattered!
Love the quotes, Lynlee! Thanks!

Thank you for the great quotes, Lynlee.
Drive safely, scattered. You're doing great! Sunday is almost here. . .
Have a good day at school, lucylee.
I am up, have said good bye to the girls, have s2socks, have let the dog out and back in. I'm drinking some tea.
Dd14 called this a.m. b/c the roads are very slippery this a.m. and she and dd17 are stuck in traffic and are late. There is a new athletic policy that any student who is tardy or absent from a class the day of a practice/game/meet w/out 24 hours prior notice, can't attend the practice/game/meet. I appreciate what they're trying to do, but there are some situations that will cause one to be late that are completely out of one's control. She is trying to figure out what to do since she has a meet tonight. If she is marked tardy, I think she'll beg for mercy from the math teacher who likes her (he has had all 3 of our kids so knows us a bit) and she is a great student in his class too. He also is coach of the girls cross country team, so he might understand her dilemma.
Dfriend S2 called and is not going to moms group after all. Her ds2 isn't feeling well. So, that has given me extra time this morning.
I'll be off in about 5 minutes.

Re: Thursday - the last day in January
Good morning everyone! Got back just a while ago after taking gd to school. Last night and this morning were horrendous with her! Think dd is barely holding it together. Wednesday is her next interview for the Youth Ranch. Praying hard for doors to open wherever she should be. Sure tonight is going to be no walk in the park either -especially since she's lost all ipod and computer privileges.
Engine light came on last night but dh so far hasn't found the source of the problem. We had some vague recollection of this happening before. I then asked dh if there was enough anti-freeze and wouldn't it overheat if it were low? Not necessarily I guess. He was going to take it to our mechanic here this morning but decided to buy the anti freeze first and try that. Now waiting for the car to cool so he can. Meantime he's gone to the recliner and will most likely fall asleep. His allergies/sinuses are acting up big time. Of course the pollen here is heavy already. Thankfully his maintenance inhaler/meds arrived this week so perhaps that will help a little. Last year was horrible.
DD is also sneezing and sniffling up a storm -I am somewhat but not like those two.
I can't do anything right now. DH is trying to snooze & dsonil has company in the living area.

Good morning, villagers ~
I was supposed to go to the dentist this morning. DOT website shows the highways 100% snow & ice covered with no towing allowed. I chickened out and rescheduled my appointment to Monday afternoon. Did not think that having my teeth cleaned and no other reason to go into The Big City was worth the risk of slip-sliding away.
They're saying wind chill factor this afternoon will be minus 20.

Re: Thursday - the last day in January
Brrrr, Bookie. I remember those temps in SD when I was growing up. Dsis is in Sioux Falls and it is really cold there now.
On a nice note it is supposed to be in the 70's here for the next 7 days. (Sorry couldn't resist - I'm evil I know)
Washed up the few dishes we had from last night. Then I repacked 5 family packs of meat for the freezer. The new fridge is so big that it looks empty even after I unpacked the stuffed RV fridge.
I know I should be painting - but DH is at Breakfast with the Boys and I'm pooped from the little bit I've done today. Will rest with GMA for a bit and then start prepping the LR for painting the ceiling.

Re: Thursday - the last day in January
We are at freezing now, down from 55 yesterday, and will be down to zero by tomorrow night. Very windy now as we go through the changeover. The rain on the roof kept me awake last night (actually, first it was the last of the snow sliding off - sounds like a minor earthquake - then it was the heavy rain.)
So I'm tired today but have s2s, cleared out the dishwasher, have a load of laundry to start at 11 (it is soaking now) and have finished my breakfast, devotions and my SAD light.
IVY just a comment about your eyes. I have (had) unexplained eye inflammations for which I was given Voltaren drops and Maxidex. We never figured out what triggered them but they seemed to be linked to my TOM and were possibly an early sign of an autoimmune issue (of which the hepatitis might be another sign) so I've been followed by a rheumatologist as well as an eye specialist. I used tear-gel drops each night to keep the incidents at bay since dryness made it worse.
I started sleeping with an eye mask on a few summers ago because dh insisted on sleeping with the windows open and blinds up and I hated being woken at 5 in the morning. (I also sleep with ear plugs because the birds were bothering me too.) Since I started doing that, I have not had a major eye inflammation. I think I'm sleeping with my eyes more fully shut so they don't dry out as much.
I don't know if this would help your condition at all, but since some of the other things you are doing are similar to what I had to do when I had an inflammation, I thought I'd pass that along to you.
