Hi everybody!

Yesterday lucylee seemed to be quoting someone else among us about the skimpy clothing worn on tv broadcast awards shows. I tried and tried to find where she quoted, but whoever it was, and lucylee, I also say Amen to that. Revealing clothing is for those who hope no one is noticing their minds and personalities.

Didn't realize how much my discussion of sleep and Kathryn's dovetailed until I read again. Yes, sleep issues seem to instantly affect us as fuzziness, lack of focus or confusion. I think it's all ages, but those of us with much on our minds and much responsibility and "full brains" (which is a good thing) seem to be affected a lot. Several of us including Lynlee have recently mentioned brain-improvement plans like luminosity. And just as soon as I can get my thoughts together I'm going to check into those, lol.

Bobby McFerrin wrote and sang "Don't Worry, Be Happy", Ivy, possibly my favorite popular-music song of all time. He is a "polyphonic vocalist" and for a lot of his music, including that hit, every sound you hear is made by McFerrin. He is also multiphonic, meaning he can sing two distinct notes at once. Sometimes his songs sound Jamaican, but he's American.

My learning difficulties often make luminosity difficult - trying to get back to my opening scores.
They have a free scheme but really want you to unlock all the bits and pay. I go free. so that might upset the scores too. But mostly I just do what I can. As best I can. Hoping to improve my times. They only give you so many games in a session so its not open ended.
I like this one too - http://www.lovatts.com.au/news/puzzles-comps/
I am hopeless on crosswords though.

dishes are caught up tonight. going to turn off computer now.
bbr and check list/journal
then read.
good night.

Good morning! I am feeling better, stronger, more together this morning than I have for several days. It's good - not sure whether because today is Friday and I'm not looking at a long day tomorrow, or just that I gotten several issues off my mind for a bit.

Today before I go to work I'm going to SSA office again to be a squeaky wheel for dsis. I had a good, long meeting w rabbi yesterday and got several issues discussed. I don't know if I posted that he had called me at work on Wed for a long phone discussion w the office manager as "relay operator" and I had to say that I was sorry but could not talk, needed to focus on work, and would see him at the scheduled time yesterday.

I am getting into the shower. We are to have rain today, and I still need to walk ddogs.

LynLee - Thanks for the quotes and the info on luminosity, I will have to look in to that.

Harriet - I usually am able to shut off my mind and sleep very well, but unfortunately last night I found myself waking several times... which of course made it hard to get up this morning.

Twins - I'm so glad you are feeling better.

I have a VERY busy day ahead of me, yesterday while at the West-End office the Director asked if I could squeeze in an admission today even though I am at the Downtown office, I looked at my schedule and told her I could if it was ok with my Director at the Downtown office, which of course it was. Then they called me last night at 6pm asking if I could add a 2nd possible admission... so now I have 5 patients, plus 2 admissions.

It dawned on me last night that I have a huge amount of homework due Sunday, so rather than cleaning this weekend I will be doing homework. :|

Time to get a move on it! Need to finish my SDR & GRWR.

Have a Great Day Villagers!

OH! I am so sorry for not giving credit where credit was due!

IVY is the one who broke the news that the ladies @ the Grammy awards were told to be a bit more "covered" this year!
I was just agreeing!
Also agreeing w/Harriet, who said just now --
Revealing clothing is for those who hope no one is noticing their minds and personalities.
Oh my goodness, that is a GREAT statement, Harriet! I may put that on my board @ school today!

I got 7 hours sleep last night for a change... but I awoke w/a terrible headache and I feel sooo puffy and boated. So I'm wasting time here... eating my breakfast & hoping the A leve I just took will hurry up & take effect!
Tomorrow is another day.

Well, we got a little snow last night, maybe 2 inches? Nothing too dramatic here. The schools here are in session, much to the chagrin of my girls - especially since all the surrounding school districts are having a snow day. Dd14's meet tonight is cancelled b/c the other 2 school districts involved, east of us in the Detroit N. suburbs area, also have a snow day today. . . The coach also said no practice tonight - so we actually get dd14 tonight!! :)

It is snowing lightly now. I wonder how those on the east coast are faring?

I plan to run some errands today, work on New Year cards, get going on specifics for SS lesson, go to the gym. Dd17's small group is meeting here tonight. Apparently, it is a bday party for her, even though her bday is in October. . . . I may go to Target or they gym while they're all in my house; they're kind of noisy, and our living areas are not that huge. Either that or I'll hunker down in the play room in the basement.

Errands today: WW, run around with ds, Target. I may have to do those in 2 separate trips.

Have a great day all!

Good luck with that phone call, Twins.

Harriet, yes I can see why your DDad's mixup in times impacts the whole family. It's a shame his thinking isn't clearer.

Kathryn, I know how you must be feeling about your DH and his brain power. It is something we deal with here on a regular basis. We have an insane amount of details to remember all the time, both of us, and the things we forget are more numerous than those we remember. You might remember my angst the other day when I kept getting lost, couldn't get the right supplies, couldn't get the phone to work, and the more upset I got the worse my thinking was. I believe sleep impacts us both (neither of us sleep well any more) and I think stress and pain (in his case) makes it worse.

I hope Ken's test comes out well. If it does, then you might work on whatever things you think might help.

I am trying to pay bills and just straightened out the recurring charge that apparently was from "we gave you a 7-day free trial that had to be cancelled" which DH swears he didn't agree to...I HATE stuff like that. I was so mad I told him I was going to password protect the whole computer and keep him out if he did this again. $36.00 down the drain so far. AKKK

Trying to remember if anybody (Kathryn?) will be impacted by today's weather. Dee's family probably. The system came through here yesterday, it rained last evening a bunch and cold air followed. I still have the fan in the window this morning.

Gotta get busy here...

After clearing off the van, I'm going to revise my snowfall estimate upward to around 3 inches. There must have been freezing rain first b/c my entire van is covered with a thin layer of ice. In fact, I can't scrape it off the front windshield, so I have the defroster going at full blast. I think I may have broken the back windshield wiper as it doesn't seem to move anymore - and is stuck in the middle of my back windshield. SO. . . change of plans. I will not go to WW today; by the time the windshield is clear and I could drive over there, the meeting would be over and I'd just have to drive all the way back across town to pick up ds. Grrrr.......This is one of those days I really wish dh would let me park in the garage. Most of you know our lovely 2 car garage is his wood shop, full of his woodworking machines, which he's too busy to use now anyway.

Maybe the day will get better. I just got an email back from guidance counselor and the h.s. head of science dept. re: a question I had re: new science class they've added which dd14 is considering for next year. So, that's pretty amazing considering this teacher apparently doesn't respond to email very quickly. He's had both ds and dd17 in class before so he knows our family; maybe that helps?

Off to work on a.m. routine before I go pick up ds. . . .
