Monday Thoughts

Post by Twins' Mom »

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. —Ralph Waldo Emerson
Let's rephrase the above as "Today is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."

It's Monday again.
Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better [wo]man. Ben Franklin

thanks for the start and the quote Twins.

Watching a doco on the working homeless in America. Those families living in motel rooms and cars. Glad of that much. Its a tough life.

I never did get very organised today I'm wondering where my energy went. If you see it send it back.

I did look up today's birthdays and get some quotes.

Just realized that by the time I got the internet up and running I'm out of time to post. Have to take gd to school in 2 minutes. BBL this afternoon I hope. Going to dbil/dsil's after school run. I do need to come back here for a while and talk to our investing counselor and the dr's office for dh's medicine through -you guessed it (med co). They once again only gave us 45 days of his ome prazole for his esophagus. He now has to take 2 a day and the script is supposed to be for 90 days.

I'll be back
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Wonderful quotes. Smart paraphrase, Twins' Mom. My same old nonsense doesn't necessarily have to follow me, since I seem to be able to make new nonsense anytime.

Thanks Nancy. Dd said that although she could tell I was nervous, she didn't think others could have told. This opens up a can of worms, though, because I don't have time to go to choir practices and almost never know when I can make it to church. I could step in because I know the old hymns backwards and forwards and I'm a soprano who would likely be on melody. Other pieces will require practice.

Autoharp - great idea.

Thanks, lucylee. I thought several times about what you said about my comment on the revealing clothes.

Cowinkie, who is this who is getting to come home? Can tell you are very happy.

Migraine sympathies to itneverends and Cowinkie.

Hope Emptynester's neck pain gives her a break.

Thinking of CathyS, OKay and Mr. OKay.

Dd and I wrestled all weekend with her schedule and were still wrestling with it this morning. Such as it is, it had to be turned in, and it may be set in stone. But this is so early, I don't see how the teachers in the various subjects know how to recommend students to which next class. Normally, we'd say that's okay it can still be changed. Admin is saying not to count on the ability to change the schedule ever, because they will spend the summer switching to a new computer system and no one will be trained on it yet. HRH says that is absolutely no excuse because there is no computer system that doesn't have options for training in advance so that the staff would be ready.

I have Dreaded Phone Calls today. I really need to recuperate from the weekend! lol I can't spend every day thinking I really need to recuperate from the previous one.

Running behind today, need to find my get up and go... I think it got up and went.

Have class tonight after work, so it will be a long day.

Today we start Focus Cleaning in storage areas (Decluttering outdoors for those decluttering a week ahead of Focus Cleaning).
Want to apologize to posters in other Focus forum threads as the stickied weekly Focus Cleaning 2013 threads continue to stack above. The idea is to keep the organization of those separate from previous years until we get to the end of our first round so we're all sure to post cleaning chat in the current threads. We're only a few weeks away from finishing the first round. :) (can you believe how fast the year is going)

Hi everybody!

Taking the day off work. I had a hot lemon "night time" extra strength last night... I think I'll toss the rest of the box. I don't think I slept for more than 30 minutes at a time until around 6 a.m. then I slept for about 2 hours.

I don't know if anyone here saw the big news of the day yet because I haven't seen it mentioned. The current Pope is resigning as of February 28.

Good morning, villagers ~
Did I claim to be able to spend x number of days with total focus on the house?
Why do I even bother to plan any projects on weekends anyway?

It was a good weekend, though, and we had a great time Saturday night. We met some old friends for dinner in The Big City. We hadn't seen them for over 6 months. These are the kind of friends that it doesn't matter whether we see them 3 times a week or not at all for several months, the conversation picks up again right where we left off.

Must go make coffee, brb.

I'm sick.

Was up and down all night.

I've got what OKay had (darn these computer viruses!) and so literally checked off the progression of my misery based on her TMI post yesterday.

The weird part was the shakes. I always get shakes after throwing up but these lasted hours and hours. Basically until about 4 in the morning. They were more like seizures than the shakes, heat did nothing to calm them (and it normally helps me) and my body ached and ached - not really pain, just aching.

I feel all achy this morning and have a fever. Plus I'm exhausted. On the other hand, the water (about 2 cups) is staying down just fine as well as the slivers of wintergreen Lifesavers, I'm sucking on (I wanted something with flavour in my mouth.)

I've emailed ds to let him know he may want to avoid me today.

Big snowfall right now but mostly the day will be freezing rain.

On the bright side, the second season of the new Upstairs Downstairs is at the library ready for me to pick up so I'll have a dvd to watch while I'm lying in bed if I send ds or dh over to get it for me. Although I may be strong enough to get up in a short while.
