Friday - going famously

Post by Lynlee »

Some days there is no one I know having a birthday. Today there is a rush of names.
I have tried for non political quotes from the politians.
Interesting too - to see the occupations listed for some.

My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her.
George Washington
We should not look back unless it is to derive useful lessons from past errors, and for the purpose of profiting by dearly bought experience.

bittersweet! Missed you! heart, heart, heart!

Oh, My, now can I keep up with Lynlee in my day today! Lynlee, are you getting the bedtime routine the way you want it these days? I had never heard those words by Washington about his mother.

Dee, I think this is one of the reasons Calcium and Magnesium are often contained in the same capsules. They work together in the body, but more than that, magnesium has the opposite digestive effect so they balance. But, yes, if you are taking calcium carbonate just changing to calcium citrate like Lynlee says might make the difference. Harvard School of Public Health letter on calcium The only mineral supplementation I do is to buy the Himalayan Sea Salt instead of regular.

I see lucylee is joining Elizabeth in finding money. How do I get in on that!?!

We had chili last night too, Harmony. HRH likes to use the Carroll Shelby "kit", but he doesn't use anywhere near all the salt/corn flour they include. I think it was a little high in sodium for me still, though - I'm puffy today!

Not much has changed since I was last in the village...my life is still way too busy, my stress levels way too high, and I still wake up at stupid hours (it was 2am when my eyes popped open - after about 3 hours sleep!). Fortunately, I'm on 12 days off - 4 of them left including today - so I can nap later if I need to.

My grand plan for the holiday time was to work on getting my house under control. However, DD has been going through a rough time (another long story involving a vindictive property manager), and I've spent most of the last week putting out fires in that area *sigh*

I think I'm going to go upstairs and do 15 minutes in each of the rooms. If I'm not back in about an hour, you'll know the nap monster reached out from under the bed and grabbed me!

Good Morning!

((((bittersweet))) YGG!

Bookie - I haven't researched the different and how it affects the body, but I ran across "Plant based calcium" a month ago. Sam's Club sells it. Sorry I don't know more about it, but I just wanted to toss it into your calcium consideration options.

I didn't go to sleep until 1:30am. Uggghhh! DD txt last night and asked to speak to LO. He called her and they talked a grand total of 16 seconds before LO said told her he had to go. Shhhheeeez. After all these years you would think it wouldn't gut me to hear her voice. I miss her. I laid there for hours once again working through the "what ifs" while I tried to find a solution. Thankfully, LO didn't have any problem falling asleep.

School day routine is high gear. *POOF*

((OK))

Well, we have gotten some snow!! More than predicted; we were predicted to maybe get 1 inch. I think we've gotten around 2 inches.

Dh got safely home last night. I ended up staying up, so I too was not in bed until almost 2 a.m.

Done:
x s2s, teeth care
x tidy kitchen - I didn't do this last night.
x errands - WW (up 1 lb. *sigh*), library, gassed the van
x lunch; chatted a bit with dh who has now left for work. (He was working at home earlier.)

Next:
-update laundry
-make bed
-dd14 to eye appt. at noon
-dd14 to X ray

Later today: write out a couple snail mail bills, work on teaching, tidying that I didn't get to yesterday. I'm going to a women's program at our church tonight at 7. I don't normally go to this monthly program -- it is a bad time for me as I'd rather spend time with my family than with a large group of women. This month, however, we have an author speaking, so I'd like to hear her. I've read one of her books, and the moms group teachers are considering using one of her books as a framework for teaching next year. Her ds is one of the missionaries our church supports and they are here from London for the missions day we're having at church tomorrow. I know of another missionary couple in Siberia from our church that will also be there. . . Tomorrow should be interesting1
