scattered, our household was so grateful for a Saturday morning we slept in a while. Of course Tobias doesn't get it, so he was our alarm clock later. And my ddad needed his usual morning routine, so snoozing was short-lived but lovely. Didn't leave computer time, though.

Now with a good breakfast in us, we're tackling the day. Dd's room, as always, is the big battle, but she has at least started. I told her just start at the door and make a decision with each out-of-place item all around the room. I won't start the day's load of laundry until she makes a decision about what color looks the most needy for her!

Harriet - I have DS14 gather the laundry and sort it and then I start it according to which pile is the largest

I have a ton of things that I need to do this weekend along with a bunch of things I would like to do.

I realized last week that I have been so exhausted after my work weeks that I have not been able to get things done on my weekends. So I came home last night and went to bed at 6:30 and slept until 8:30 this morning (yes I work up a few times through the night but was able to roll over and fall back to sleep). Now I am up and ready to get things done. In order to get to everything I would like to I am going to use a tit for tat method, I will do something I have to and then something I want to.

I realize I am so blessed (right now) on laundry. (remember, I don't have payroll outside the house, scattered) Keeping my one-month-of-laundry card in the card-file has been so helpful. I'm printing out 7 main loads and 7 mini loads that are "the usuals". That's printed in black. So then I place dates beside them with a fine-line red Sharpie each time that load is done. It keeps me on task every morning, one load a day like a little automaton (happy to be an automaton in this area of life), and I get a filled-out card for reward. (I'm easily rewarded.) The one thing it doesn't do is tell me how in the world that daughter of mine is doing with her laundry by the end of a frantic week. She was given the chore of her own laundry at age 12 like her older siblings were, but of course it's silly not to include her reds with our reds, etc. So we overlap a lot.

HRH got up with a headache that seems to be part tension and part sinus. He hoped to feel better after a hot shower, but I don't think that did the trick... ... He hates to take pain relievers because of his tinnitus.

Harriet - I should do a LOL a day, but alas it just doesn't happen.

Got to talk to INE - who is also struggling with her DD's 9 LOL's... you two should share notes. I got Bert & Ernie chewing, but need to get at least half of my ITE 141 homework done before I go have a little fun.

Dh and I are going out tonight so I should be focusing on getting things done so I can enjoy that.

Headache is slowing me down, though. It woke me numerous times through the night and my tummy is a bit upset as well so I ate soda crackers as a snack after breakfast.

My sister called. The after-dinner part of our outing tonight is a gathering with people from a financial internet community she is moderator on. I wanted to check to see if people know we are related since some people there have met her IRL. They don't so we'll keep it quiet.

Yesterday's mail included a cruise brochure for another line's 2015 World Cruise. It includes a wonderful crossing for us from Perth to Capetown so I think we'll be changing our plans and putting that cruise off to 2015 from 2014 (which was Singapore to Capetown.) We have friends in Perth and ds might still be there then (he can stay up to 2 years and that would be the 16 month point of his trip if does stay as long as he can.) I'm getting very close to choosing a Jan 2014 cruise as well. But all that has had me reading about the two cruise lines (neither are our regular line) and deciding if they are for us.

It is quiet here in the village.

I had to call a whole long list of people to pass on a prayer request this am, nobody was home around here either.

Doing odds and ends this morning. Read through a lot of magazines, pulled 2 things out to keep and the rest went into recycling bin. Logged checks, put ins. cards in all 3 trucks, did dishes, been helping DH hold parts while he tries to get bearings back on (fixing tools). I have to make a trip out for some things for tonight also.

If we weren't having this thing tonight I think now I'd just curl up with my book for a while. For some reason I'm feeling all achey. DH is very stiff too with his hip. But gotta keep pushing on...

Hello to Scattered, Harriet, Kathryn & Harmony! :)

I was up before the alarm went off & after morning routine was done I joined several of you in dealing with laundry. I usually wash clothes laundry on Mondays, but it wasn't done this week so I have a mountain to deal with. I can either say that I'm finally getting caught up with it, or, that I'm getting a jump on next week ;) !

Gave the master bathtub a really good scrubbing yesterday, which it really needed. Scrubbed the tiles, too; replaced the mat & the shower curtain liner with new ones, & washed towels.

Dh is heading out for a few hours & I am going to take advantage of the quiet to putter & do some planning. We talked about the basement cleanout again & he has agreed that next week we will tackle the back room. Right now you can barely walk in this space; it is dh's misc room with only his stuff so I really need his help in sorting its contents. A large majority of it is hunting/fishing/sports equipment, plus related gear & clothing that goes with each. He uses a lot of these items but many more haven't been touched in decades. I also noticed a lot of empty cardboard boxes on top of all the stuff. He likes to keep those when he buys something new in case a product has to be returned, but then his follow up on breaking down the box later on is not so good. Oh well. :)

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Waving ~~~~~ to all who stop by later.
