- laundry catch up
- groc. store - dh is going to cook for small group tonight, shrimp curry (Indian)
- house cleaning. 2 little words. . . They will require more work than any other item I've posted here.
- small group here at 5 pm
- I may have time to work on Hebrew/my book club book after everyone leaves; b/c of the small children in this group (6 kids, ages 1, 2, 3, 5, 5, and 7), they don't stay late.
It looks like another beautiful day! Sunshine, highs are expected to be in the mid 40s!
The story here this a.m. is sleepless girls through the night, back awake by dawn. Also my ddad got confused in the middle of the night and did something to the main telephone base that started a double ringing like an alarm. So loud. Ugh. But of course Tobias still gets hungry. He started his usual campaign to wake us because we were past time getting up and no food bowl. HRH got up and I assumed he fed him, was so grateful, but noooo, he just came back to bed, knowing nothing would stop. So back comes Tobias and HRH pushes him off the bed right at the headboard so that he took down an antique photograph as he went. I have not been a cheerful homemaker this morning.
I am so tempted by a quilt show happening today, but I don't see how I can manage it. Although dd14's friend's mother comes by to pick them both up at 1:30, dd33 was hoping I could pick up a gift card to wrap, from her, to carry to the bridal shower for dnephew tomorrow with dfirstinlaws. Since ds27 and ddil have decided to blow the shower off, conveniently not having received an invitation, yet ignoring various evidences that it did exist (won't his grandmother be so proud), I figure I maybe should do as dd33 asks so our family won't look just awful, you know? (lucylee will understand that.) Besides, I don't know what I would do at a quilt show except notice how much fun others are having, and how many ideas are getting old before I can learn them. Buying anything from the vendors would be unnecessary. See? Attitude adjustment needed.

As the quilt show will likely bring up frustrating feelings for you Harriet, I think you should skip it. Can you pick up a quilting magazine while out for the gift card, go to a coffee shop (or whatever calms you) and spend 45 minutes looking through it, blissfully on your own, without distraction before coming home? Then you'll get a quilting 'fix', have the magazine for future reference, control spending and still have some 'me' time.
I'm up. I've cut the fleece material I bought in half lengthwise and pinned it to the bottom of my new dressing gown. Need make one more cut, then hem two edges, sew the two bits together then attach them to the bottom of the dressing gown and make if full length. Will add a loop to the right hand front edge so the belt can go through and double back, holding the dressing gown closed (I do that on all my dressing gowns, it looks more elegant and is more modest.) Also have to mend the pocket (it doesn't have a slash pocket, the seam along the side of the patch pocket has come out!)
Once that project is done, there won't be a piece of fleece lying around in the family room (on the other hand, I have been using it as a blanket.) I'll have a leftover bit and think I'll make a hot water bottle holder with one piece and an ice pack holder with another if I have enough. No point leaving the material for 'future' use since I'm trying to get rid of things.
I think the next month (once I get the back basement bedroom finished) is going to have to be used to get my unfinished projects done so I can get rid of some of my craft supplies. I have a lot of them, but mainly the family history albums (since all the contents are sorted in various boxes in my creative room.)
Harriet - how funny! How come these guys never do the obvious? LOL! Speaking of cats, my sister had a wonderful huge yellow cat named Dr. Phil. I loved him. As soon as he could see the bottom of the bowl he would come whining and crying to whomever was closest to refill his bowl, to the top! He was a character.

I want to get to Wally World before it becomes flooded with people. My vacuum belt came in the mail yesterday. Know what I need to do with it .....Got everything I wanted done yesterday. My desk took a large hunk of my time, but I finally found the bottom of my desk. However now I have a few sorted piles that need adressing. Won't take long cause I already have homes for all of them.
Cold and dreary out...there's still a 50% chance of rain. Temps are hanging around 55* and the pups don't want to spend much time there. Its long pants and sweater day for me...gonna enjoy it cause this time next week its suppose to be 90* Yikes

Nancy ~ Glad your babysitting job is working out. Lucky baby to spend time with such a fun caregiver.
Kathryn ~ I, too, have a piece of fleece lying around in my office. I bought this piece (37 inches by 60 inches) at the library fund-raiser fabric sale for 50 cents. I'm keeping it rolled up and use it as a muff to warm my hands when I'm sitting at the computer. No sewing involved.
Harriet ~ Sorry your morning has had such a rough start, but I'm sure DD and her friends have had & are having a blast. I love Kathryn's idea for taking a little time on your own.
I do need to get the boxes in my car out before Wednesday so I have room for my sewing machine and projects to take to sewing retreat Thursday-Friday-Saturday. The boxes will take a bit of time to go through, though, because they are full of vintage needlework magazines. (Not valuable because they are in bad shape, but fun to look at the old fashions and ads.) I've been working at sorting through and getting an equal number of boxes out of my office closet before I bring in the ones from the car. Making good progress in blocks of time from last night and this morning.
DH just got up so I should s2s and see what he wants to do about lunch. We are supposed to have lots of rain this weekend.

DH has insisted we go by dparents' house almost every night and that gets so tiresome to me...
