Getting ready for the weekend...have a beautiful day

today we have tons of sunshine and yes cold but it's sunshine.

What's the next right thing you need to do for the weekend to be relaxing. (no over-thinking or over-goaling allowed). What one thing can you do; that if you waited would cause you tons of stress - get rid of it or make sure your ready for it. )

it is conga Friday after all and for my family we celebrate easter.
dd's come home Easter morning

to bring to party: quiche's, coffee, bottled water,
(so I need to shop for fresh eggs and cream, order coffee and buy 1/2 and 1/2)
get my cloths together, set up easter baskets and hide. (I know my girls are older but I still put a easter basket in their room (so the dogs don't eat it)

make vet appointment for dog and cat

goals today: paint the stairs and hall with reg. paint, clean any spots.
work in dd youngers room (she tends to be a keeper and I every so often put her stuff in boxes in the basement to have her go through and make her own decisions but she stays used a clean space which seems to help her dejunk - I don't know why)

HAVE A REALLY WONDERFUL DAY... YOU DESERVE IT!!!

Good Morning!

Blessed - Thanks for the reminder to look ahead to this weekend.

I'm not up to my usual speed, but instead trying to maintain a tortoise speed. So far today......Breakfast made. LO to Pre-K including visiting with teacher and his classmates Mom's. DMom visited with on the phone.

This afternoon is LO party and egg hunt. This evening is FNG. That is as far as I've got with plans for today.

Our yard is looking magnificent - well as good as desert sand and rocks can look. The overgrown cactus in the raised beds is gone, raised bed is fixed (cactus roots had pushed out the timbers), and rock moved ready to donate.

Beds of over grown aloe around the trees are gone (ditto for the rocks) and dirt contoured. Can't wait to post on blog with before pictures I took on Wednesday.

Bushes and trees are still to be trimmed but the trailer is full. We have one pile of cactus behind the garage, but it was getting late so DH sent the worker home. He did a great job.

As soon as I get S2S, I will go out and take pictures.

Then I will get moving on making rice krispie nests in my little muffin pan with green coconut straw and tiny jelly bean eggs for church on Sunday. Tomorrow will be taken up with meeting at church and other stuff around there.

Church last night was very moving. There was a 3 person play featuring Peter, Mary Magdalen and a Centurion. It ended in silence and we all left in silence.

Sunday morning will start the same: gathering in the social room, entering the darkened and black draped sanctuary in silence. Then Mary Magdalen will rush in and announce He is risen and the lights will come on, music will start, the black draping will come off and the choir will process in with flowers and other Easter decor.

We will see what the response will be. The whole worship committee might be drummed out of the church because, "We've never done that before!!"

We had a more traditional service and dd and I enjoyed being a part of the choir.

Actually we were half of the soprano section, so we also knew we were appreciated.

Good morning all. Thought I'd better jump in here now before the day gets too busy. MT, your service last night reminds me of the one they have at the church I attended in FL. I have already received an email report on it from a friend there. The only time of the year that congregation is quiet before and after the service.

Dggd is in a dance recital this afternoon and of course we are planning to attend. Otherwise a normal Friday here. Weather is warmer again and in fact warmer than normal for this time of year. But I am certainly not complaining about that!

Not going to the store today used up food $ already, glad I don't have to deal w/ the crowds. Granny duty & car pool later on. [I need an attitude adjustment so will keep this brief.]

Time to get on ex. bike skipped it yesterday and did a prayer walk instead last evening that was good I saw 4-5 deer.

No service at our church until Sun. morning no Thurs. service no Good Fri. service no sun rise service. They are doing a pancake breakfast not going to that. Hum... maybe we should just mail the check and go with kids to church.

Skippable: I'm in a funk - I hope I get out of it. I feel right now that l do a lot for other people w/ out getting kudos or any sense of appreciation or even an encouraging word that I did something well in return. Then, when I don't do something well - or someone doesn't like what I did - I hear about it. Dh didn't like the email I sent out re: Easter plans and he told me so. Too many details, he said. Also, I have had little adult conversation this week since dh was at a church meeting until after midnight on Tuesday, out of town Wednesday night, working after the service last night, giving an exam tonight, etc. etc. Even at the moms group yesterday, I was with the babies b/c there were 14 babies and 2 helpers hadn't shown up. Lunch with a friend on Tuesday was all about her sharing what is going on in her life; not a question to me re: what is going on in my life. Granted, she has been through some awful trauma recently. Shopping Monday was all about dfriend S, as it should have been and I expected. These things are all understandable, but the net result is that I feel I am giving to others and no one cares how I'm doing at a deeper level. And even as I type that, I know that is a selfish thing to think and not wholly true. . .. My BFF does care about me, but I didn't see her this week. Anyhow, I could go on. . . . two friends don't fundamentally respect my decision to ultimately stay home with my kids (I worked part time through my first trimester of my 3rd pregnancy and then decided it wasn't worth it for me anymore, esp. w/ dh's travel schedule as it was back then), though, they are happy to partake of what I am able to give them b/c of that decision - time, companionship, home cooked meals, etc. Granted, these friends are young and w/out kids, but still. . . . It is hard to swallow.

Thanks for letting me rant! I think I feel a little better.

Next up: 6 teen age girls are arriving at our home in an hour to dye Easter eggs. The kitchen is still a mess, the granite counter is a mess, and the table needs to be wiped down and covered with a plastic table cloth. Living room should be tidied too. I plan to retired downstairs while they are here and study, do laundry, etc. Dfriend S and a friend may show up. Not sure what I'll do if they do; I don't think I'm expected to entertain them.

DH here never approves of my e-mails either. Says I always say too much, that is not the purpose of email, etc...

I hate HIS e-mails also, btw, and I am the one who has to type them!!! He cannot type, except one finger at a time, LOL, and so he either dictates or writes it out by hand. It makes him sooo mad if I start trying to "edit" for him.
Oh well.

Right now, he is rushing me like everything, b/c he says I've got a "late start" and I have much to do...
