Conga through the Footprints Friday

Post by Harriet »

"footprints" (or the leavings of our darling family members strewn across our home) was a term coined here that Indiana particularly liked. Who was it who first mentioned the "footprints" she had to pick up/erase? The first mention of it I can find seems to be Cowinkie, with Emptynester close behind. But I notice those mentions weren't commented on, so it's probably older than my search suggests.

Hard to Conga until you've picked up the footprints of other's recent dances!

Do you have footprints through your house today? Are there likely suspects? ;)

blessed how is dd feeling after concussion?

I have no answer for the footprints question.

I did spend some time erasing a few footprints from yesterday while I wait for the exercise bike. Netflix and/or our internet is acting up today so dh's tv episode is taking forever. I was going to use the nordic trak but moving around I realize today is going to be a bad leg day (which make sense since I had the electric muscle stimulation on Wednesday and I'm always sore after that) so I'm going to stick with the bare minimum.

I wore my fitbit overnight (here's a link describing it: http://www.amazon.ca/Fitbit-Wireless-Ac ... B005PUONIK) I was in bed 8 hours and 37 minutes and got 8 hours of sleep. I awoke 12 times through the night and only took 7 minutes to fall asleep. I was shocked that I had 100 steps in the morning by the time I turned the sleep timer off but then remembered I was up in the night for the bathroom. That still overestimates my steps but not as badly as I thought.

The fitbit came partially charged and I haven't charged it yet so have to figure out a time when I'll be at my desk and use that time to recharge the battery. After that, I'll recharge overnight every 5th night. There's something else for me to keep track of. At least with the phone, I plug it in when I go to bed and I can miss two nights and still be fine as long as I'm not using the phone for lots of stuff in the daytime.

Today's challenges are paperwork and then taking our senior friend out for supper at her old church in the city. She kept talking about it even while saying she didn't want to go so I decided we should insist on taking her. It will be fun.

First challenge: exercising and then s2s.

Harriet, I am thinking that it was Cowinkie who first said "footprints".

Yesterday I mowed for the first time this spring. Then I dug up dandelions. I still have some on the east side of the house that need dug up. Last year I started to dig them up but there were just too many. We had a terrible time with our lawn last spring and all season really. We are hoping to get it in great shape this year. I think I will try to spend an hour a day, working on it this spring. It will be good exercise plus it needs the attention.

This week was cheerleader tryouts. Dgd16 (Dd2) made varsity again. Dgd16 (Dd1) made JV again. She was really disappointed that she didn't make varsity, but the prom is this Saturday and that kind of took the sting out it for her. At first, she wanted to quit but we told her if she does, then she has little hope of making varsity for her senior year. I was hoping she would make varsity because then I could just go to their games and not JVs. Oh well, I did enjoy the JV games because I could watch them, where at the varsity games I was helping corral 4 little ones.

It is suppose to be 80 and windy today. 70's Saturday and Sunday. Then a few days of cooler weather with chances for rain, which we still desperately need.

Guess I will do meds and breakfast. I need to make out a grocery list, shower and head to the store.

Good Morning!

Progress made so far -
** AM cards including fruit smoothies made/served for breakfast
** LO to school. Visited with couple of the Mom's and 2 substitute teachers.
** DMom phone call (1st of the day)

Kathryn - I charge my fitbit once a week for about 30 minutes while I'm sitting & doing AM devotional. I have been amazed how quickly it charges.

Lilac - BWTG on your proactive care of lawn. Wonder if a squirt of Round-up would take care of dandelions? I put Round-up along the fence line this year. I have resisted using chemicals in our yard because of the water well, but have researched Round-up enough to be comfortable using it.

a New day!!! how exciting!!!

dd's teachers were annoyed with her bc she wasn't at school one day this week, even though they knew she had a concussion. She never complains and looks fine but her headaches are there esp. at the end of the day and she sleeps from the time she gets home until morning. We have a doctors note stating the same but bc she doesn't look sick or doesn't act it out in front of anyone (not her style) , I don't think they believe her.

I need to start this beautiful day with all of you.

Have a great day.

Okay, dh started using Roundup along the fence to cut down on the time he needs to use the weedeater. I used to have something that you spray specifically on dandelions. I am out but need to replace it. I would dig up the dandelion and spray the hole, where I dug it from.

Dd2 called to vent. Dgd16 is sick and dd2 called the school to have her excused. They asked if she was calling from a cellphone and dd2 said yes. The gal then called dd2s landline to see if she had called.

Last night I was talking to dd2 on the phone and dgdalmost2, was in the background asking for "chocolate, I want chocolate". She doesn't ask for candy, just chocolate. Dgdalmost2 does the funniest thing, if she doesn't say please and you ask her what to say, she crosses her arms and says please, please. She does such cute things and it is so hard to believe that she will be 2 on the 18th.

Yikes, the day is getting away from me. I still need to make out that list, shower and get to the store.......

We all know how clever with words our Cowinkie is, so I can imagine she would be the "footprints" gal. As I write this I think she is probably having breakfast and getting ready to raft further down the Colorado River. She will be home Sunday and we can read about her adventure.

We have been home since Saturday and I am still not completely unpacked yet. I'm working on it. We have been sidelined by the important things we had to get done - like tax appointment and Mr. Guy's hormone shot for his prostate cancer, haircuts and etc. Things will settle a bit next week and then we can see about getting to San Jose to see the newest member of our family. Baby Boy was born on March 2 :D and we are so anxious to see him . He is our second great grandchild. His sister being the first and she is now 3 1/2. How time flies.

Back to work. Have a great day all. :D
