Make it matter
If you’re not motivated to take action, raise the stakes. The way to get motivated, to get passionate and to get going is to make it worth your while.
It’s only natural to procrastinate, avoid and make excuses when what you must do has little or no meaning for you. The answer is not to force yourself to act against your own interest, but rather to find a way to get yourself positively invested.
When you make it important enough, you’ll make it happen. When you make it truly matter, you’ll figure out how, and you’ll persevere until it’s done.
If you’re dreams are just empty wishes, and you’re not moving passionately toward them, make them bigger. Give them consequence, and you’ll make them compelling.
Get your own self-interest working in your favor. Align that self-interest with what’s best for everyone, and you’ll find yourself actually doing what’s best for everyone, including you.
There’s no need to fight or strive or struggle to get yourself to take action. Make it matter, and you’ll make it happen.

Good Morning!
I'm focusing on the D's today. Having clean dishes and clothes DOES MATTER! Just try doing with out them and it suddenly becomes important.
LO has swim lessons this week so that takes a 2 hour chunk of time out of my morning each day. The rest of the weekly schedule looks fairly open with just normal weekly activities.
Cowinkle - I thought of you when I saw this article about Sandy Hook. After all they have been through and are still recovering from, it is double heart touching. Sandy Hook has some seriously special people to put that much effort into helping others.

Re: Monday Make it Matter
Good morning, OKay and all who follow! Like that opening!! That well deserves a second read -in a minute.
Dh and I just got back from having his blood work done. For the first time I read this morning, the diagnosis of congestive heart failure. Only had heard the "acute diastolic heart failure" and atrial flutter before. He's quite short of breath this morning. But it's also quite warm & humid. But the nurse will be coming at some point this morning. Nice thing that happened yesterday was that the pharmacist (W algreens) called about his blood thinner. She was worried she hadn't told me about the increase of bruising & what to watch for (she had). But very obviously she was concerned about this new med and how it was affecting him. Who woulda 'thunk' it in this day & age where everyone is a number. Will send a commendation to W greens to express our gratitude for this caring.
We stopped at T im H ortons on the way back & picked up breakfast. Kathryn will surely equate with this stop. Now I'm brewing D unkin D's coffee. Only needed McD's to make it a full morning.
DS-R & DDIL#1 have bought a place not too far from us -think I said now that I think of it. Dawned on me this morning that they got a quite new golf cart for practically nothing -because they've already sold the RV & deck that are on the site for the same price they paid for everything. DDIL is very happy with the golf cart -they walk a lot but it will be good for a lot of things. They are blessed.
DD will be moving her MH this morning as soon as the site she's moving to is available. DGS8 will only have to walk about 200' to get to her place in the morning. Her lab will love it -they'll be about 50' from the 'dog pond'.
Today is DS-R's birthday. Oh, yes, I remember it well. That's the day I 'died' and came back. When I think of that whole experience, it's awe inspiring.
Coffee's done -going to pour a cup and go next door (I think/hope) & have it on their deck. They've been here for several days but we've not had a chance to connect really. So, I'm off. At least I have the bed made.

Re: Monday Make it Matter
Good morning, dear friends.
OKay, that inspiration from Marston is really good. Immediately thought of some aspects of my own life. Good for perspective.
Hoping Lynlee gets a call back today and some bright plans for recovery.
Today dd's friend with the handicapped sister comes, the mother and 3 children. I can't leave my ddad, so they are bringing take-out salads for us all to eat here. Way too much trouble for this mother to take, since it's a long drive, too, and we tried to work it out that we'd meet somewhere but couldn't, with husbands' schedules. They'll take dd back with them and she won't be home until Wednesday.
Happy Bday to your son, Dee. Not sure I remember a particularly difficult birth story with him. So nice to hear he's close by you.

Might not be posting until Thurs. Small inverter that I use for computer is alarming today and I can't get it to reset. It has been iffy all week. So might not have any power for computers until we go into Escapade on Thurs.
Had a wonderful night's sleep. Highway is just far enough away that it is white noise. 68* this morning.

good morning village
Harriet - I rang the hospital today and they said maybe I'd get the call with appointment tomorrow. Wondering if I ort see a reg gp doc who has radiology nearby.
Washing is away
I had a basin bath tonight as I was itchy. - found the pain meds can do that so am just trying paracetamol tonight. bruising is black and ugly. leg and arm. bentad ine on my cut knee. Elbow scabs seem to be healing ok. I think I must have crashed into the sliding door frame first (with my feet in the air/ dog barricade) before I landed on the floor.
Off to make my nest on the couch for the night. Hoping I can get there without tears. I did finally work out how to use the timer on the tv. I give it 30 - 60 min to go off.
good night.

MT: our inverter blew out on the drive to Harriet's. You can pick one up from the B atteries P lus by the H arris T eeter grocery store near her! (Felt stupid buying one without pricing first because I thought it was a 'luxury' but then I needed to write the sermon while driving home so it was a necessity.)
Slept reasonably well and was in bed 9 hours (and went 9 hours between doses.) Sore when I woke up but am quite fine now. Breakfast is tricky since nothing is packaged so I couldn't just grab a box of cereal to have later as my second breakfast. Ended up bringing up two slices of bread for toast, and had a small bowl of raisin bran, half a waffle and some melon for my first breakfast. That was quite a lot to eat and not enough milk so I'm having tea and chocolate now and will be sure to have milk with a lunch and a dinner later today.
There is hazy sunshine now so we should be out walking but I wanted to have some tea first.
Goodnight, dear Lynlee, I hope you can get a decent sleep without too much pain. It must be frustrating to have to wait and wait like this. It is one thing to be treated and then deal with the pain of recovery, but you are in a pain-filled limbo right now.

Oh, those nice men at Batteries Plus are the ones who worked above and beyond duty on my dmother's watch for me until I could wear the band as well as tell time! I know right where their near-ish-to-me location is ..... ... however, that will only help Emptynester after we invent the transporter.
They are franchised, though. Btw, a little news about them for those villagers who regularly use their type of services. "...the franchise will be rebranding the majority of its stores to BatteriesPlusBulbs over the next few years. This shows the strength of focus that the company has dedicated to the rapidly growing light bulb industry." Interesting.
Congratulations to Norma and Mr. Guy for their slimming news in H and F. (

Re: Monday Make it Matter
Good morning! Full weekend, generally good. Ds, dd15, dh and I went to see Shakespeare in the Arboretum with dfriend A Saturday night. It is such a wonderful tradition in our community!! They use the features of the arb so well, with actors rolling down a hill in one scene, falling over a log, hiding behind trees in others, etc. It is a moving(literally) production; the audience moves about 5? times to various parts of the arb for various scenes. As dfriend A noticed, it's a double header: you get to see a Shakespeare play well done AND you get a good walk through the arboretum.
The play is put on by a Shakespeare class at the Univ. and it is always one of his comedies.
Talked to parents yesterday. They have just been silent when I've mentioned that we're coming to their town next week. We're coming for a wedding but would like to see them too, of course. I told them so. No response on the other end of the line. I have NO idea what that means. Not sure what to think. I kind of assume they'd like to see us -- but maybe not?? We're planning to see my dbro the evening of July 4. We're staying in a hotel to not inconvenience them; we've done that the last few visits, and I think it works well on various fronts. Trying hard not to let their lack of response bother me. .. .It's not the first time.
Full morning:
x went w/ dh to drop off his car for repairs - muffler
x went for a jog; jogged well, went a little faster and a little farther. Still very slow but faster for me.
It felt good, a good sign.
x s2s, teeth care, and bfast
I'm leaving in 10 minutes to take Lily to her last appt. I need to gas the van en route.
Other things to do today:
- a.m. routine
- drive dh to and from his office when he goes in
- library
- bank?
- groc. store
- DPC
- help fetch dh's car?
- early dinner, around 5/5:15
Crazy evening:
- 6 - 7 pm Maia goes to puppy Kindergarten; I'll take her since dd17 is on local church missions trip - in town but she's away from home this week.
- 7 - 9 dd15 has drumline; I hope ds can take her
- 7:30 - ? dh has meeting at the church tonight

Re: Monday Make it Matter
I SO enjoyed Sat. & Sun. yd. work progress. Today not so much with rain and my regular day on tap here I'm down. But found out that the place h. picked to stay for our ann. has a sub way in town or near by so I'm relieved. [Meals were problematic last time we were there this should help.] I tend to worry about travel with the diab.
I've peeled eggs. for h's lunches. Bought jumbo white ones now we can compare the size of the ones we are getting.
So I've got to ask what are you all in the U.S. planning for the 4th? I'm hoping to be around to help the chickens freak out so much as the back door neighbor does a lot of them.
Had a quiet day at home yesterday it was just us two and exactly what I needed to recoup.
Thanks Okay I needed that quote today!
I've been trying to decide on a replacement p/c and was told by a rep. of a co. that everything is going to touch screen and prices will be going down so now I'm rethinking maybe even considering a tablet. Those of you that use a table can you use it for e-books for a kindle type app. what brands do you prefer?
