(No, not race cars!)
Let's get our chores "down to a science" and remember our own "Formulas" for successful days.
A formula means,
"a fixed method for doing something, often written out for future reference".
Even when we find ourselves wondering what to do next, we can remember our formulas and become productive. Personal morning routine, Dailies, a schedule of Weeklies or otherwise rotating chores like Focus cleaning, preparing a 5 x 5 - when we feel directionless, we CAN return to a Formula for getting on track and accomplishing a lot!
What's your Formula for getting this productive day started?

Re: Formula Monday
And it's MONDAY again - seems like I need 1/2 of the day on Monday to get over the weekend. Yesterday got dd picked up at camp - we got in around 8 last night, I think. She did not have a great summer at camp this time around so will hopefully do something else next year.
Dkids will both be here for next two weeks then back to school, realizing I need to get ds in to see doc who prescribes his meds before he leaves. Lots to do, need to see dmom today, need to see dsis this week, follow up on temple stuff. We're going to the beach again in a little less than three weeks, and after that come the Jewish HHD (high holy days.)
Anyway, I'm still in jammies and need to change and take the ddogs around before anything else.

Re: Formula Monday
Good morning, Twins' Mom. Time with the twins sounds very cool!
Approaching the 10:00 crossroads moment here, the Morning Dailies are done except for a load of HRH's sweats still spinning. Trash out, recyclables caught up, bed made. General "pickup" took a while this a.m. following the footprints of several little boys!
Today begins "Decluttering the dining room as we Focus Clean the living room" for those of us following the schedule in Decluttered Home. And that's me, so I'll be trying to do something to help each of those two rooms every day this week. 15 decluttering, 15 cleaning in LR to start a 45 minute Round Robin that probably needs to head toward bathrooms. So that's the next hour.
Weeklies tell me Desk Day is up for my own household today.
Unfortunately, I may also have errands. I'm still trying to combine those better. But after a weekend that included a party here and so many plates being filled, our cupboards could be considered bare!
The "dreadeds" are nagging at me. I just need to keep them in their place, so that they don't spill over (mentally) into my FORMULA!

Re: Formula Monday
Have gotten a jog in, checked and took care of emails, and had a banana so far today. It is just about 10 a.m. So, not so productive so far. We got up too late after going to bed too late. SO, that means I'm going to have to stay focused to get things done today.
I've got a lot going on this week:
- getting together food, decorations, activities - and gifts (now for friend B too) for the baby shower on Saturday
- meetings re: child care workers - one with past coordinator and fellow moms group leader, one with potential future child care worker
- start scheduling next steering committee meeting - basically, propose some dates and send an email
- get back to Taiwanese man re: tutoring
- arrange coffee with a dfriend who is not doing well and said at church yesterday that she wants to get together with me
- have house clean and menu set for hosting main pastor and family fr lunch on Sunday
- look through 3 years of data and give number of needed tux shirts to band director today
- make sure I'm set with volunteers, paperwork, and knowledge for band uniform fittings on Monday
- regular meetings/appts. this week - orthodontist appts., teaching team meeting, WW, oboe lesson
- shopping with dd15
Hmm.... that was not particularly helpful. I need a do-able li&t for today. I'll bbl after I've made progress on the a.m. routine.

Re: Formula Monday
Often a good formula for me is an early start to the day. Getting out of bed is the hard part but once I do, the day often goes well.
So, today is a wash-out!
Actually, I was out of bed at 6:10 because I didn't see ds at all yesterday (he was asleep when I left and gone when I got home, and I was asleep when he got home.) He had a 7 a.m. start this morning (after getting home at 11:30 p.m.) so I got up to 1) make sure he woke up, 2) give him a hug and wish him a good day, and 3) find out if he had picked up the extra shift today or if he'd be home for dinner.
He hadn't got the shift so I promised something nice for dinner.
Dh got up and hugged him goodbye too and then we went back to bed for over an hour. Nice cuddle but that lazed me out for the day. It was very cold this morning (in the 40s) so I skipped the bike ride, came down for tea to warm myself up and never got back upstairs.
I have started dinner (ds said he'd be home so I made his favourite pork stew), done my Sunday chores and have eaten. But I haven't exercised or s2s.
Nor have I done any work on services (I'd like to finish up two today, not the sermons but the services.)
Ds just called to say he got the extra shift at the last minute so won't be home until 7:30 instead of 3:30. He's agreed to have the stew reheated if we can't wait that long to eat (depends a bit on how the rest of today goes, there are times we can wait that long to eat.)

Re: Formula Monday
Twins I too need some recoup time after the weekend here.
K in C your post reminds me chicken is the dinner plan for us tonight.
Journaling & qt x
Dishes are going. I've tossed the trash.
Put donations in the car trunk.
I've reclaimed the counters.
Done to here
A formula for me today would be to continue with this round robin.
Still working on the table.
Stove needs to be wiped down.
Laundry aka duds ~sigh~ still working on rounding that up.
They are doing road work so no walk today yet.
Ex. bike later on ...
The hens think it's time for the next feeding I'll wait until after dgd arrives she will will be here in a bit.

Re: Formula Monday
Harriet - thank you for starting us off and having such a great theme for today. Formula theme is a good match for the character trait I'm focusing on for today - Decisiveness vs double-minded (procrastination)
i just finished today's focus cleaning in the living room. Took curtains down and put into washer. While they were washing I cleaned the insides of 10 windows until they squeaked and vacuumed underneath them. the washer just stopped so I'll hang the curtains up on their rods to dry in place.
Next up - CFO cards

Re: Formula Monday
Making some progress:
- s2s
- emptied dw
- 1 DPC; have meeting set up with potential child care worker
- emails - have meeting set up with past coordinator and other leader
- emailed dfriend re: coffee
- emailed Taiwanese guy re: conversation tutoring
- menu plan and groc. list made up
- investigated Maia's last mischief-making scheme: hose was leaking, creating a lovely mud pool in which Maia absolutely reveled - and the mud just made her more and more exuberant! I wiped her down the best I could with an old towel before letting her in the house, but even the wiping down became a game for her. . . Why did we get a puppy?
I'm off to the groc. store now. Dd17 needs my van this afternoon so I need to be back in about an hour.

Re: Formula Monday
This may just be one of those days I don't get a lot done.
-find forms to fill out for dkids doc for meds and call them
-scan dd's pay check stub so we'll have it for tax return if needed (has wrong address, I hope she receives the W-2 next winter
-s2s and get ready to go to dmom's
-strip the bed and put mattress cover in the washer
